Thanks for algo for recommending this footage to me. This volcano has been talked about in our national news during its eruption, but no such news are coming from Ruang nowadays as Lewotobi steals the attention. God bless them all.
@ExtremePursuitАй бұрын
Thanks for watching. We just got back from Lewotobi - footage is coming also.

Its amazing how most of the plants are still surviving and even some flowers are blooming amid the destructiom
@ExtremePursuitАй бұрын
It sure is. Nature is very resilient.

What gets me is that while a few buildings did seem to have their roofs collapse due to the weight of the ash, most seem to have been shredded by falling rocks before it could even get to that point.
@marklong930Ай бұрын
That destruction is horrendous. The corrugated iron roofing torn up like tissue paper. Those poor people losing everything is heartbreaking.
@sigisoltau6073Ай бұрын
At least they're alive to rebuild. I know, it sucks losing everything, but better to be alive and able to rebuild over being dead.
@marklong930Ай бұрын
@sigisoltau6073 absolutely

It was heartbreaking seeing it in person :(
@dudasttАй бұрын
That is interesting part, did it melt because of the heat? or because the extreme acidity of the ash? If it melt, how come some wood panel on the houses are still intact?
@axmajpayneАй бұрын
@@dudastt It's from falling lava bombs that punched through the roofs but weren't hot enough to start fires.

What happened here? Is this just ash fall and lapili that's been compacted, pyroclastic flow, or lahars? Thanks for exploring for us, it's definitely a sad situation for the folks who called this beautiful place home.
@AztesticalsАй бұрын
I believe heavy lapili and parts of the village got lava bombs and I gotta imagine a flow came through with the way things are busted in

This is one of those few times on your channel that I won't hit the like button. Not because there's anything wrong with the video but because the devastation is so sad. I'd hoped the residents would one day be able to return home but now I know one day the volcano will take what's left. A very beautiful part of nature they may be, but not always for the people living with them!
@ExtremePursuitАй бұрын
The volcano is still deemed active and could erupt at any time. It's unlikely anyone will be able to return for some time.

There's must be something wrong with your channel, you deserve more views and more subs.

is this on the ruang island itself or the neighbouring tagulandang?

that is the village on ruang island

I can not believe how many trees and bushes survived vs the actual buildings.
@ExtremePursuitАй бұрын
Yeah, it was very surprising. Nature is resilient
@FYP054NАй бұрын
honestly when it happened the all people had evacuated but some pets didn't
@ExtremePursuitАй бұрын
Sadly it's true. We found a highly malnourished dog wandering around. It bet all the odds and somehow survived. We left quite a bit of food and water for it and let the authorities know.

@ExtremePursuitАй бұрын
Yes, we spent the entire day here observing and studying

Nothing is burnt but the roof metal is in tatters. Strange. Perhaps Sulphur combined with water to corrode the metal.
@sigisoltau6073Ай бұрын
Because the pyroclastic flow that hit may not have been hot enough to ignite wood or melt things.
@UKOnationАй бұрын
Ruang isn´t unknown since a long time. Why do people settle there in a evrytime danger of dead and to loose everything?
@antonevan443Ай бұрын
Probably because regions surrounding volcanoes are incredibly fertile.
@UKOnationАй бұрын
@@antonevan443 It´s a good reason, but not good enough. Growing there but living elsewhere I would prefer.
