Being from Michigan, I'm also impressed to realize Menard's has been around for that long and still used the same song throughout all these years in their commercials. Most companies and stores change it up every few years, but they seem committed to that jingle.

Relevant to my interests. I wrote a paper about Dave Thomas in high school. He used to be a cook in the Army, that's how he learned to cook food for a ton of people efficiently. Regarding the Medical Card, I will say when I was in China, I did have a Medical Card like in the commercial. It acted more as card for logging in at the Hospital, and they still required identification to confirm it was me, but they did use it to access the account that was made that did hold my medical information and not matter what hospital I was in, they had access to my medical records. Something that was nice about it was that since I got bronchitis three times there when they told me about my scoliosis the different doctors didn't have to tell me twice because it was logged saying I was aware. They also didn't have to constantly ask if I was allergic to things because it was logged. That being said I can't say whether or not it was secured, but it was at least convenient for the few months I was there on as a volunteer teacher.

The medical card still exists, kind of. Medic Alert cards and bracelets will store information about medical conditions in the case of someone being unconscious and not being able to inform paramedics or hospital staff of things like allergies or conditions that could be dangerous if not treated correctly. It's actually really useful.

And to speak to the criticism of the idea from the video, While having a card you carried around with medical information has it's own set of security issues... the alternative of "stored on an internet database" has proven to be woefully insecure in the grand scheme of things... with tens of millions of Americans alone being subjects of medical data breaches online. Assuming sensitive information / information not needed by paramedics in an emergency was encrypted and behind a PIN or some other authentication check, the card in your wallet is probably more secure than relying on 3rd party IT security departments securing their internet portals and/or databases.
