Previous NYC Vlog: • A Trip to NYC for The ... No specific plans today. NYC's great like that. You can do a lot of research and make a plan for your trip, and if you're coming from far away, I'd say that's the way to go. We're not new to NY. One thing Mia and I have always enjoyed is just walking outside. It's easy to have a full exciting fun day w/o any planning. Just start walking. There's food and things to see/do literally everywhere. Spend the day with us, and don't mind the scenes being made by Mia! She can't help it.

That might have been a patron vlog... we did do the one here in PA (which I think has since closed). It was fun. I thought the one in NYC was closing in Dec (of last year) but I saw something recently that made it seem like it was still there? I'd like to see the one in NY. If you go, you should also go to the real locations in NYC (if you haven't been to the apartment yet - 90 Bedford St, NYC).

1:15 That right there is Daitetsujin 17, a robot from a 1977 tokusatsu show by Toei! So calling it a Megazord is actually not far off since while not Sentai, it is made by the same people behind Sentai! Kinda like Leopardon from Toei’s Spider-Man. Funnily enough, the original toy was released under the Shogun Warriors and Godaikin lines (the latter by Bandai America kinda like that Dynaman Robo was you shared a while back) in the US back in the day. I gotta go to FAO Schwartz again, I remember going to the original location on its final day with one of my siblings and later visited the current one. Even if you don’t get into the toys I still recommend giving Ultraman a watch, lots of great shows and movies! The same company behind Ultraman did Gridman, which was adapted into Superhuman Samurai Syber Squad if you recall that show!

You might be our first commenter who was actually there. When I was in college, that was probably my favorite Times Square. Toys R Us, Bar Zone, ESPN Zone, MTV, Mars 2112, Virgin Records, that McDonald's with all the neon and cool model upstairs. There was a cool Warner Brothers store, and back in the day Stardust Diner had my g-scale trains running around the restaurant (they're gone now). Times Square is much more pedestrian friendly now though.

Love NY, but hopefully the rest of our vlogs show how perfect PA is for us. A tiny apartment in Manhattan would cost more than our current house, by a lot. That was the dream as long as we lived in CA, and what we started this channel on: move back to NYC. It was 21 years ago that we left Brooklyn. The world's changed, our needs have changed. PA checks every single box for us, and we're still right next door to NY & NJ. Should we win the lottery we'll certainly get an additional place in Manhattan or Brooklyn.

The stairs don’t have rainbow lights… but the floor does. You just don’t remember because it’s under the red rug 😂 Also I miss Mars 2112. There were 2 locations: NY and Chicago. I remember going to the Chicago one a few times in jr high. Absolute blast. It was also empty though which was great for us but obviously bad for business

I think Contactless has been mostly and Asian thing in transit, but North America and Europe are catching on now. When I lived in Madrid, all the transit modes (Regional Rail [Cercanias], metro, city and suburban busses were all on one pass-which isn't the case in many North American cities because of different operators-contactless solves this even though they should do better to cut transfer costs down)

When we started school in NY, we used tokens to ride the subway. Last time we were in NYC we swiped those yellow plastic cards (which Mia always fought with). Now it looks like you just tap your phone. Crazy.

I’ve been to New York only once Bruno ( twice if a summer camp theme counts) if somehow I ever find myself there again that anime store is on the top of my list, and I’ve been in the original Fao Swartz before it closed down ( no I didn’t go on the piano but I did go on a giant computer keyboard) I kind of wish that mars restaurant was still around it looked pretty cool ( minus the flashy lights) ps don’t be sad that the anime store didn’t have any senti stuff Bruno, Godzilla is always awesome and Mia your cute huggable dragon can probably go in your and Bruno’s bed

We can take requests on Patreon. January of 2023 we mostly retired this channel publicly b/c overwhelmingly people were here looking for PR, toys, and drama. This is a video diary. It's a lifestyle channel where viewers are supposed to connect with us as real people and see what else we're up to in our real life. We already have a dedicated Power Rangers channel for all things Power Rangers. In the case of solid resin props, I'd just pull up that video, they haven't changed since then. If you're asking if Kevin's family stayed at the Plaza at the end of the movie, yes, they all ended up there. Haven't seen that movie in ages already, we'll have to watch again. Kinda funny how Duncan's Toy Chest was a fictional store, but at the time of filming, FAO Schwarz was located directly across the street from the Plaza, which was probably one of the biggest toy stores in the world.

This is a lifestyle channel and then our regulars go on Twitter and cry "Bruno's using his wife for views!" as though Mia is an object who has no say or input in the videos we post together.
