Got an Email from my club; The South Bay Lapidary and Mineral Society. Along with The Palos Verdes Gem and Mineral Society, an Exploration and Rockhounding field trip was in the works! The local coast was the destination this time. And the chance to hook back up with some of my friends, whom I miss dearly, and get in some coastal rockhounding was too great to even think about passing up! It was SO GREAT to see everyone again! And the added exploration of Lunada Canyon was quite an excellent bonus to the whole days trip. Our Host, Joe Cocke (Coke), was the epitome of the modern day explorer archeologist and his vast knowledge of the area capptivated us all. Thank you Joe, for the excelent adventure!!
Please come along with us on this awesome August Field Trip.

Looks like a great day and outing. What a wonderful area to be blessed to live in! Would love to learn what you think some of your find’s are. I recognized the juicy agate’s, lol, but some of those concretion looking ones and the possible banded chert’s, (?) I’m not sure about. Maybe some pet wood too? Our Indigenous peoples history goes waaay back. Ty for sharing🌻

Thank you for checking us out! You’re right. That was the 1st time I’ve ‘hounded’ there. And there are tons of agate and Chert. The green one, at the beginning of the Round-up, is a kind of local shist. There is pet wood. And the brecciated stuff is all over the place in endless variety there. It’s a great place. Looking forward to going back again. Hope you have an Awesome day!💎

Thank You so much, for checking us out and commenting, Alice in Mineral Land!! I’ve been wondering how you’ve been. It’s been quite a while. It was an awesome day and I’m quite sure you and your little one would’ve liked it. The hike up that hill was a little much, because it got fairly hot later on. I will let you know, on here, the next time we plan on a field trip. You are most welcome any time. 💎
