So, at first take this looks like your ordinary boring 90's family sedan, well that all changed when Honda threw in a manual transmission and matted it to an incredibly fun F20b dual cam Vtec motor! What’s it like getting parts for these?

Many mechanical parts are shared with the USDM Accord and Prelude of the same years. Very easy to keep one of these going for a long time. I actually own the Torneo version of this car (slightly different body). Decent aftermarket support too. New exhaust can be purchased from Fujitsubo. Tein and Aragosta still offer new street-oriented coilovers. Your options for decent wheels are limited due to the 4x114.5 lug pattern. Enkei has a few nice options including the RPF1s. You can also rock a variety of used OEM alloys from any 90s Accord. If you wait 1 more year, the Euro R version will begin to be legal to import.

@@thecloud1432So excited for the CL1 Euro R to finally be US legal! I’ve been seeing some of these SIR-T’s around on Facebook Marketplace but I’ve been holding out on buying one because I’m waiting for the Euro R. Been my dream car for a few years now 🙏🏼

@@nchondakid best of luck! I caved and really just wanted the body style, SIR-T still has nice performance. Plus, I kinda like the wood grain interior better lol. But, I must admit, I will be doing a Euro R badge swap when my paint is fixed 😅

U. S. Honda dealer will not carry the parts. You'll need to dig through various online parts catalogs to piece together what USDM parts from Accords and Preludes are interchangeable. The F20B shares many parts from the H22A1/H22A4, and some parts from various F series motors, like the F23A1. However, keep in mind that many parts for these cars are in fact discontinued. So, if a major part goes out, like the electronic power steering control unit he mentions in the video, you'll have to hope you can find one from a JDM motor and parts supplier, eBay, or by finding the used part from Japan. I'm currently in the middle of an F20B rebuild and have elected to sleeve and bore the cylinders to the Prelude's H22A. Stock, the 85mm pistons on this motor can only be replaced with used OEM pistons or you have to order 'em custom from the aftermarket. I've elected to bore the cylinders to an 87mm bore diameter to make it easier to source parts. But to give you another example of how you might need to get creative with parts, I'm using K20A2 aftermarket shelf forged pistons from the K motor b/c the Prelude's pistons have a 31mm compression height whereas the F20B OEM pistons are 30mm 😂. The net: cool cars to own but man, good luck being able to easily source and replace parts.
