I like to imagine this is the wing of Aperture that GLaDOS has just long abandoned, due to some reason or another. Every Personality Core or other bot there has gone effectively insane due to being cut off and not being given any tests to go through. But obviously, SOMETHING'S controlling this part of the facility. Just not GLaDOS. Something more... creepy.

what can I say I am in control sector 45 of the facility. you were in there at the elevator room. I would of let subject name here out but GLaDOS was watching. she got depressed since chell left. she had been making more main core parts what's she is in control of and gave me in charge of sector 45. subject name here must deactivate all 5 main cores. I'm just a secondary. only me as secondary. after subject name here got all 5 cores they must deactivate GLaDOS
