Thanks for sharing this beautiful place. I'll never see it. As a pittie pooper picker upper, I do understand the frustration. Those that don't clean up after their pets ruin it for the rest of us. One bad apple spoils the bushel as the old expression goes. Love the video.

Thanks for the early morning vertigo! I am just kidding, I don't know what it is, when I am actually in nature I have no problem with heights, but this bridge and the other one you did, AZ, (I think), made my stomach turn. Nice interview. I enjoy their channel too. You both put out quality videos. Beautiful park, bummer about the no pets though. Thanks for sharing, Valerie

HOW COOL ! Not seen Back Roads Vanner. I will check their channel. No pets! at a FREE ,gorgeous campground. Guessing the Vann ers had to leave to walk the dogs. Great video. Awesome natural bridge. We stayed in Douglas back in '90 heading to Yellowstone. Safe adventures.Jp

I was there at the end of September, the last weekend they were open. I didn't stay cuz I spent the night at a free campground in Douglas. Left Ayers and drove up to Devils Tower. First time back there since I was a kid.

+Cindy Derosa I went to the campground host to ask about the 'no pets' policy and she didnt have an answer, but they had two dogs of their own in the 'host' house. She seemed embarrased of the irony.

Glad to see I'm not the only weirdo with a box on a hitch carrier! I originally tried a tool box and it blocked my license plate, plastic Contigo box from Lowes turned out to be a good plan B minus the security. They have a tall metal one I should of got but was twice the price and smaller. The ATV hitch racks at Harbor Freight have an angle to them so more ground clearance. That would be a great addition to the van! Another great video Brian.

Sure would like to know why this place is so opposed to having pets there. My dogs are seniors. One is pushing 15 yrs old. He has his canine good citizen certificate and used to visit nursing homes as well. They both are my constant companions and I would never even think about not having them with me because a place like this forbids pets. So I would never go there. Your video is enough of a visit, so thanks for that. Looks like Backroads Vanners dogs are seniors as well. It's a shame some places discriminate against our family pets.

Great video (since we can never visit there b/c we have a dog that we travel with). Also great seeing Backroads Vanner! The no pets policy is so weird and I have read horror stories about how sometimes the host that is there freaks out and calls the authorities even if the dogs stay in a vehicle. Someone must have not been responsible with their pets and ruined it for everyone.
@AdventureVanMan8 жыл бұрын
+Heather Buzzell The campground host actually had two big dogs with them. I called her out on it and she ignored me.
@hbuzzell8 жыл бұрын
You should read the comments and feedback on the websites about how crazy it gets. I had read those after I watched your video the other day, and when Mike had his dogs, I was like, this could be fun if they saw them. They probably feel they have good reasons for it, but maybe they should just enforce rules like leash laws and pick up after yourself.

I am with the parks and rec. board overseeing management of the park. It is a very heavily visited park at times. When dogs are there too, it becomes very over crowded and issues can arise. Public safety is a concern at the park, and based on past issues, that was one concern that could be controlled. We are currently looking into a dog park at the entrance to accommodate four legged travelers. The caretakers, who are required to maintain full time residence at the park, are allowed to have pets within the confines of the county provided dwelling and fenced yard. We do regret the inconvenience of this rule, however, pets that are "SAFELY" kept inside private vehicles are welcome.

pet owners have their run of most of the parks and recreation areas in the country, letting their animals crap all over the place. it's nice to see a park that bans them so the kids can have a decent clean area to play in.
