Hi Solo this place comes alive at night just down the road. Lots of live bands and bars on the beach. You can google De'Sands Cafe Batam. They make the place look like the Santorini in Greece. They call it Santorini of Batam over there. Not many tourists know of this place as its out of the city centre.

Chinese Muslim community in my 2nd home, Makassar, also has a Masjid Muhammad Cheng Hoo - I think there are quite a few across the archipelago. There is also at least one Buddhist temple named after him, which is a bit odd since he was Muslim...

Hi Solo im a new fan. Came across your vlog when i was watching the video of Kuala Lumpur with you and Chris and Brad. Just want to share with you something. I go to Batam often. Be careful when you are holding your phone or Gopro as my phone gormt snatched by those snatch thiefs riding on motorcycles. Maybe just avoid the dark and quiet alleys at night. Dont want it to happen to you too.
