The history started since Kingdom Era. Even Malaysia, South Thailand, Brunei, Timor Leste, South Philiphines (Sulu), are part of Majapahit Kingdom (Nusantara/The Archipelago)-The Java Kingdom whose capital city is in Mojokerto (East Java, Indonesia).
@MawangHujan-fl2zn11 ай бұрын
And Malay is actually ethnic from Sumatra Island. They come from Melayu Kingdom whose the capital is in Jambi Province now. They spread all around Sumatra, Borneo, and Malaysia. And The Malay Language in Indonesia is actually still traditional than Malaysia. In Malaysia they mix Malay, English, Chinese, and tamil. Even in the past, when Malaysia got independence from British, Indonesia sent Teacher to teach Malay Language, because when British colonized Malaysia, English Language is the official language so they force to speak English. Until Now, Teacher from Malaysia, Singapore, and Brunei, still come to Sumatra to learn pure traditional malay language without to much mixing language.

@TravelingSoloLogs what is clear, the Indonesian nation which consists of more than 400 ethnicities and has more than 700 regional languages, since 1928 (Republik of Indonesia became independent in 1945) has pledged (including the diaspora of foreign nations who chose to live in Indonesia, including people from mainland China ) that *"Bahasa Indonesia"* is the *Unified Language* of the People accros the NUSANTARA (Archipelago). FYI, "Bahasa Indonesia" has been recognized as an Official Language at UNESCO since 2023, and it is only a matter of time before it becomes the 6th Official Language at the UN General Assembly. Additional information, ethnic Chinese in Indonesia only 10 million out of Indonesia's 280 million population.
