When the Burmantofts cemetery Beckett Street, opened in 1845 it was a walk through fields from York road to get there. Sorry about so many messages!

Yes I wondered this as I walked through the Burmantofts estate as it seemed as if it all just went up in the 60's, I guess it was just fields before then.

The shops you spoke of on the estate in the 1960's. I remember Barbara Castle and Pat Phoenix visiting. I remember the Ebor and Saxtons being built.

Interesting, a part of Leeds I've driven through, but never explored, shame about all the graffiti but I guess that's a fact of life in the city these days.
