Great stuff Jose, thanks for posting Campeche adventures. We (my wife and I) have been alternating between Yucatan and other places lately. Puebla, Cholula and Atlixco, for some time. Activity, art, food, culture and sights were all very good too. We like Yucatan (esp. this season is great), but may be worth checking out too, to cool-down in late spring/summer! Keep up the good work, we enjoy the info, video and commentary!

There's a beach about 20 mins away by car, though it's not exactly the best beach ever. The problem is there's no Uber (I didn't know about inDriver when I was there), so it was quite inconvenient getting around, especially in the baking heat. I quite liked the calmness of the city, but found myself doing the same stuff more or less every day. I also didn't find it any cheaper than Merida's city centre - neither the Airbnbs nor the food and drink.

What's the difference between the ADO and the Va y Va (?) Buses?

Morning Jose, do they ask for ID on these trips..?
@JoseArteagaTravelsАй бұрын
As I mentioned in the video. When you board the bus they are supposed to check your ID along side with your ticket. But in todays adventure the failed to check our IDs both times and Only scanned our tickets and let us on the bus as you saw in the first part of the video. Hope that helps answer the question
@jp2362Ай бұрын
why did you guys not take the MAYA TRAIN. It would grow your channel a lot more. you should try doing it coming back to Merida.
@JoseArteagaTravelsАй бұрын
The Mayan Train is much more expensive and cumbersome for what the purpose of the trip was. Remember as I mentioned in the video we were just accompanying Christian last minute because I thought you guys might enjoy to come along for the last minute visit to Campeche as well. Also the Cost of a ticket is over 3 times the same cost as the bus. I don't have an extra 150 USD to just throw away. Also the train station would have left us on the outskirts of the city and it would have been much more expensive to get to Centro by taxi than the 50-60 pesos it costs us to get to Centro from the bus station. Also plenty of people have done Tren Maya videos, I'm interested in showing you guys things others have not, or from a different angle therefore using busses is much more affordable and convenient and realistic for most people. We plan on riding the Mayan Train eventually but please understand it is not on my priority list right now simply because of it's high cost and in many cases slower and less convenient travel. Hope all that makes sense. Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us.
@dharma6808Ай бұрын

I just took the ADO bus yesterday from Merida to Campeche. Had an overnight stay. Weather was gorgeous and had the most amazing sunset. Walked the Malecon from the Holiday Inn to Galerias. I wish I would have done some research beforehand. Getting to Campeche and realizing the only Uber they have is the Moto, and they were scarce. Ended up getting ripped off badly by a local taxi driver. I've learnt for next time. Beautiful place though.

Glad you had a great time! Campeche is a special place, and the sunsets are unforgettable!

You had an opportunity to show your subscribers the train maya, but you decided to save a few bucks instead lol. Cool vid though!
@JoseArteagaTravelsАй бұрын
That is correct. We plan on going back to Campeche and other surrounding areas. So it is a great opportunity for someone such as yourself to sponsor a video and help us pay for the trip for everyone to enjoy. As i mentioned in another comment I live on a budget out here in Mexico and spending an extra 150+ US Dollars is a lot of money for me at the moment. So if you or anyone else would like to help sponsor a Tren Maya train just email me and we can set that up. Thanks again for your comment!
@ej1692Ай бұрын
@@JoseArteagaTravels Makes sense! I'm actually seeing online as well that the train from Merida to Campeche ends up being like around 2 hrs, and the bus is like 2 and a half? It wouldn't even really make sense to use the train in that situation then esepcially if it is that much more expensive. I don't understand how it ends up being almost the same duration? But whatever.
@JoseArteagaTravelsАй бұрын
@@ej1692 I think it is because it stops at various stations along the way. I think the Train is great as a sight seeing travel option but other than that it is not worth it at the moment in my opinion.

Your black amigo was stopped at least twice? Did I hear that right? Mexico is the only country where I could have easily got residency. But this confirms why I did not bother. I am in Guatemala now, a beautiful country but don't come here for the people or you will be disappointed.
@JoseArteagaTravelsАй бұрын
Yes that is correct he got stopped twice before while riding the bus. But this is only a recent thing due to the immigration situation with so many Haitians coming through Mexico headed to the USA. In fact in a past episode he even got mistaken for a Cuban. Either way that is the main reason why.
