You are right Bob you have only just scratched the surface of the chase . There’s lots of places to park by streams and ponds too x
@coasttocoastcaravanning61382 жыл бұрын
We live nearby and the chase at Brocton is our go to place. We park along the road with the speed humps and walk through. You can see for miles 😊. Less positive we bought a car from that garage on the left. Cost a small fortune to get it right! Never again. Great to see others enjoy our 'back yard' ❤

I never thought about that, Germans would have been buried here during the war, yes the Spanish flue was a pandemic, i only know about graves in Burma etc, still think that was a lovely touch on that site with the chairs out.
@BobEarnshawMoHo2 жыл бұрын
That must have been dreadful, survive the war and die of the 'flu.

The Chet holds many memories for me including family get togethers with my grandparents and 18th birthday celebrations for my son wakes for funerals. Your visit to Brocton heights was lovely and you were so near to two of my favourite places: the bird tree and the stepping stones. Take care Gill

Hi Bob & Jen if you want to walk to Cannock chase turn right on the main road and after about 500yds turn left by a old disused garage and follow the path it takes you into Cannock chase, you go pass a camping and caravan site and a lovely cafe.
@BobEarnshawMoHo2 жыл бұрын
Yes, I cycled that way.

How poignant to see the war graves, so young, so sad. It looks an amazing place to explore. Thank you and take care.

Good video as always but what makes these last 3 more interesting to me is where you stayed is 4 miles from where we live in Hednesford. Great to see what other people think of the area I live in especially Cannock Chase Brocton and the the German and commonwealth cemeteries we have here. We’re quite frequent visitors to the Chetwynd Arms and believe me £17 for 2 meals is very good. Enjoy your next trip.

Great video as usual, it's sad all those men dying so young, on a lighter note I thought you were doing the "Fish & Chip" run on your bike Bob, like Mike from The Frenchies Channel 😉

Do you have any problems with insect bites on your walks? I seem to be getting bitten a lot. Have had to resort to jungle formula spray with deet! How do you cope with flies in the van whenever they get in?
@BobEarnshawMoHo2 жыл бұрын
We didn't get bit this time but our friend Elaine did. In the van, we try and keep the fly screens down, but the occasional one, usually the speedy little ones get in. Poppy hides in her crate while we try and shoo it out!
