This brought back lovely memories from earlier in the year when I stayed here to break my journey home from the Lake District with my two dogs. Lovely CL and a really warm welcome. I have recommended it to friends.

Hi Bob & Jenny I’m so pleased to see you at a CL the way prices are shooting up for a lot of us CL’s are more affordable and what’s not to like, that’s a wonderful site even the toilet facilities looked first class. I hope you review a few more in the future, enjoy your stay and keep making these wonderful vlogs.

Looks like a nice cl, Bob. Suddenly perked up when you mentioned the Chetwynd Arms pub. earlier in the video.We were at Cannock Chase CCCS recently (a super little club site) and the nearest pub was ...... you guessed it! The only thing was, you had to walk through the forest , passed a lake and along the main road to get there - we never made it due to late arrival at site.

It was lovely to see you drive through Stafford. You would have been better to get off at junction 13. When you were in the dual carriage way just off junction 14 when you turned right into Stafford you passed the Erwin Hymer centre. I love that you showed what my mum calls the Baswich Bra 6.33. You are about a 10 minute drive from where we live and I pass the site most days and yet I didn’t know it was there. Not sure if you are still in the area. Stafford is a lovely town and has the Ancient High House in the town. Stafford castle is a ruin but is worth a look and not far away if Issac Waltons Cottage. If you need any other ideas of where to go let me know. Cannock Chase is beautiful and when we where at Hermanfest we thought that the New Forest was very similar. Take care Gill

I few people have asked what a CL is - CL stands for Certificated Location, a small campsite limited to 5 pitches, certicated by the Caravan and Motorhome Club. A similar scheme for the Camping and Caravanning Club are called Certified Sites or or CS. They are often quieter for that reason.

Rhuallt. rh pronounced as if the ‘h’ and the ‘r’ were reversed - ‘hr’., or sounding out the 'rh in Rhinoceros. u. as in the e in me. a as in and. ll ( a difficult one this). pronounced by placing your tongue into the top of your mouth, with the tip of your tongue almost touching or just touching your top middle teeth, and then blowing out gently. Hi Bob, As I understand the situation:- If you 'unlock' your Fiido you will void the warranty and make it illegal in the UK and EU - maximum allowed 25km/h. Also if your Fiido is the newer version the methods described on internet/utube don't work - at least last time I checked. Also ebikes, in the UK and EU, are not supposed to be able to be ridden on just the throttle (there is an argument that under legislation designed for sit on lawnmowers it is legal up to , I think, 5km/h), they can only use the power for pedal assist. So if you stop pedalling the power is cut off. If not you have a bicycle with bicycle brakes and wheels etc being used as a moped/motorbike particularly if you 'unlock' it. Mopeds and motorbikes also have insurance, road tax etc. At present however, looking at proliferation of motorised scooters etc illegally used everywhere on roads and pavements (probably 'unlocked' ?) and ebikes which only meet USA (lack of) regulations I suspect we will have to wait for the media to focus on all the deaths and injuries that will occur before any action is taken! eg Spain only clamped down recently after ,I think, 70 deaths. Sorry if I have got anything wrong 🙂. The Fiido d4s is a great bike and my wife really really likes hers so ......
@BobEarnshawMoHo
@BobEarnshawMoHo 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, I understand that about unlocking. I've asked Fiido about the throttle assist legality and they said it is 'optional and can be disabled'.

Hi Bob and Jenny. Like the site and how easy it is to access. That got me thinking, how about a tour of easy to access sites for those of us that aren't keen on taking our motorhomes down narrow lanes. Your arrival vids are required viewing when we plan a trip. We did Trewethett this year and knew the road to the site would be a bid dodgy in advance. We are staying at Marragowan and Bunree at the end of the month also, again after watching your arrival videos Love the channel, please keep the arrival vids coming.

Hi Bob Jenny and poppy, we have just got back from Cornwall and had 1 night at Tewksbury as a break and it was 40 pounds which in my opinion is even through it is one of our favourites over the past 30 years is very expensive, we intend to use more cls in future plus adults only appeals to us we are not anti children as we have 2 young grandsons , but unfortunately members on occasions fail to teach them how to behave regarding noise and running round pitches which really annoys us. Plus the cost is fair as we do not need clubs or swimming pools, we look forward to you reviewing more cls. We live in the north west and would like to use sites nearer home. thanks for another interesting video. Stay safe and enjoy our fantastic hobby.

Hi Bob, when you do a full review of the e bike, could you cover whether it’s feasible to lift it and transport it on a bike rack please, as we don’t have a garage? Also on the Fiido website, I can no longer see the 7Ah battery model as an option, just the 10.something Ah battery - for a corresponding uplift in cost. Many thanks, Wayne &Janet.

We don't have a garage either, and I'll probably need to get a bike rack when we get back from Wales, as I'm carrying it in the car. It weighs 41lbs, or 19kgs. The Thule G2 bike that fits our motorhome has a max limit of 30kg, so I wouldn't be loading two Fiido D4s. Howeve,r I think it should be possible to load onto a bike rack. The model I'm testing has the 10ahr battery.

Hi Bob We watch your channel on a regular basis & always enjoy them I have a question re: when you refer to CL `s what is this ? Sorry you have probably explained this before

CL stands for Certificated Location, a small campsite limited to 5 pitches, certicated by the Caravan and Motorhome Club. A similar scheme for the Camping and Caravanning Club are called Certified Sites or or CS.

Hi Bob. Love your videos. Very helpful. I wanted to ask if you have a solar panel on your van and if so what wattage is it? I am thinking of putting a 150w panel with a dual controller (for both vehicle and leisure batteries) we then don’t have to pay for EHU. What are your thoughts please?
@BobEarnshawMoHo
@BobEarnshawMoHo 2 жыл бұрын
The motorhome came with a 100 watt solar panel and a single 100ahr battery. that solar panel will probably keep the battery topped up for 3-4 days on good sunny days, less so on cloudy days. But, it really depends on what you want to run off your batteries when off hook up. If you need to run 230v appliances you will need a 12v to 230v inverter as well. If I'm off grid (which is quite rare) then I use a powerbank like the EcoFlow Delta which has a built in inverter to run coffee maker, toaster, hairdryer and the like. That way I don't drain the leisure battery - unless I forget that I left the roof fan on all day like at the Norfolk Show. I used the EcoFlow to charge up the leisure battery overnight. Also, don't forget the fridge. If you have the usual three way absorption fridge, it will run off gas when off grid. If you really want to look at how to live off grid, I'd suggest you have a look at the Gadget John channel. kzbin.info

As long as it's compatible. Cadac's own were quite expensive.

Silly question..... do you need towing mirrors as your towing a car thar is narrower than your motorhome?
@BobEarnshawMoHo
@BobEarnshawMoHo 2 жыл бұрын
Not a silly question, but the law says, from www.gov.uk/towing-with-car/trailer-and-towing-equipment Towing mirrors You must have an adequate view of the road behind you. Fit suitable towing mirrors if your trailer or caravan is wider than the rear of your car.

High Bob and Jenny, sorry this is a bit off subject. I just checked out your video about the Swift Command and phone app last year in which you showed a phone version that looked to be in the same style and format as the PC website. Doesn't seem to be available yet. Can you update? Is 2019 still the latest available.
