I feel like Ollie’s is cheap on some things, but others are about the same. Saving $10 on a vacuum cleaner is one thing, but $1 on lower quality K-Cups is the other.

Ollie’s is such a good store if you’re a book reader like me, someone who prefers hardbacks. Hardbacks are unfortunately always so expensive though and usually are priced anywhere between $30-40. Ollies though is a store that usually picks up the extra product that warehouses might have gotten too much of. Like I went there one day just to browse and ended up finding two hardbacks that have been on my list for a long time. Both books would have been $30 each in an Amazon or Barnes & Noble. But al Ollie’s I got them for $5 each. Both freshly printed and out of the factory and in perfect condition Ollie’s is great 👍

Love my local Ollie’s. Ours is only a few years old, so it is not as messy. You actually get good deals on things like hygiene products and breakfast cereal. Sadly, “Ollie” Rosenberg, one of the co-founders died in 1996 at age 75.

We used to have a literal carbon copy of this store in Toronto called “Honest Ed’s” straight down to the signs and absolute chaotic layout and complete randomness of products. It closed in 2016, but it was open for over 60 years.

I grew up in Sweetwater, Texas and have been to the Rattlesnake Roundup over a dozen times! It has gotten bigger every year and has a food festival, carnival rides, beer, and live music. I think it would be awesome if you and Lucas would consider checking it out! Potential video idea for March/April 2025?

Have you thought about reliving your childhood and going to the great Wolf 🐺 Lodge. They have an awesome waterpark, tons of activities, and if that gets boring, you could take pictures with the characters.

Back in my 20s, I used to work at a clothing chain called Ragstock in Minneapolis. We made our own signs, too! I always thought it made the store seem more "fun". Plus it was a good excuse to do arts and crafts on the clock. 😊

1:21 claw machines are indeed rigged. The owner of the machine can select the odds of win per losses. Most common selection is 1 winner per 30 losses. The 30 losing games will use a weak claw, and the winning game will use "Strong Claw" that has stronger grip. It's in the machine programming. Avoid claw machines.

I collect Transformers & Star Wars action figures. No joke, I stayed in bad relationship for an extra 2 months (...his favorite date night resteraunt was Golden Corral, and he kept deleting the Vanderpump Rules episodes I saved on my cable box for space to record soccer) - solely because I really wanted to go to an Ollie's & get cheap action figures when we visited his family in OKC for Thanksgiving 😂

My grandpa loves Ollie's, so I had to go there once. No idea why, but the vibes are so weird there, like Ollie is constantly watching you. Finding the bathroom felt like traveling through the backrooms (it was at the end of a long hallway for some reason). It was a strange experience, but hey, at least the books were extremely cheap.

there was a store that looked almost exactly like this in the early 2000's in New England called, "Building 19". it was the same premise; a store that had a bunch of junk in it from closing businesses and liquidations, with the same dull walls. there was a mascot with a buzz cut and glasses on every sign with cartoony font. i just found out that i guess some Ollie's bought Bldg 19 when they went bankrupt

Ty for the tip. I have one of these stores in my area but never have gone there before because I figured it was just way bigger items than what dollar general or dollar tree sells. I love books too! I get them for me and my grandkids so now I will be stopping at Ollie’s to check out their book section. Also, if you have an Aldi’s grocery store in your area they have the Best import wines anywhere. Along with import chocolates too. Oh, and they always have fresh cut flowers at the check out that are really pretty and fresh and cheap. Js!
