Hallo John, I am from Bologna. Many people are a little disappointed, because it doesn't really represent the city. It is a project for making money and the food is more expensive then in the city. I live in Berlin, so maybe I am more "used" to "new concepts", that's why I personally find it not bad, like it is a nice experience. But of course if you have one day to spend in Bologna, forget about Fico and get lost in the small streets and trattorias of the city!

@@fulvias.8463 Grazie, Fulvia, for your response. Your opinion is what I expected. We were supposed to be in Bologna right now, but will have to wait. We are excited to explore Emilio-Romagna and learn more about the great food culture, nibbling away on mortadella in the Quadrilateral, and assessing gelati. I lived in Berlin for a year, 1989-90, I am sure it has changed quite a lot since then.

​@@etherdog definitely! Berlin has changed a lot! I wish you a beautiful future trip to Bologna. My advice: take it easy and slow. Bologna is not Florence or Rome, it is better if you try to "live it" without planning, just walking around, eating and drinking, looking at the people... :-)

The main difference beetwen gelato and ice cream its that gelato is made with milk...and ice cream with only water
