Thank you! It was lovely! 😊 We would’ve loved to have stayed for more than 3 days, but that’s what we had to work with this time. Next time we will try to stay longer, and bring the kids, too. We come to Cloudland about once a year for the past 5 years now. We love it there. Thanks for the compliment on K9 Kyra. She is my husband’s partner at the police department. I love the way this campground is set up! Sites are well away from roads and parking lots, very private. You got a privy! The trail is still providin'. 😊 I'm so happy you and Brian were able to get time together for this. 10 hour drive 😮 rest well you two. 🌲🏕🌲

Thank you! I love these backcountry sites. It’s a 2 mile loop with 12 sites. #4 is almost a mile into the trail and the rest are so spaced out that you can’t see one from the other. Such a great option to the standard campground campsites.

So glad to come across this posting since it’s been your time on the AT I last followed you. What’s interesting about this is I told my grandson we need to go camping again; and a plus I never heard of this location😮although being in North Florida it should be ver doable. Hi there! These backcountry sites are awesome! There’s 12 of them spread across a 2 mile loop. Each campsite is far enough apart that you can’t even see it. Nice privacy! We’ll see you tomorrow when we explore the awesome Bear Creek trail!

Wow! That seemed to be an entirely different hiking and tenting experience from the AT. I'm just an armchair thru hiker, so have no personal experience doing either 😊 Glad that's how you got to celebrate your birthday ♥️

Yes, definitely very, very different than our days hiking the AT, but so wonderful, too! We were able to just relax, take our time, with little to no goals to accomplish. Very nice and gentle way to bring in my 46th birthday with my best friend! 🎂 🎉

What they don't allow campfires at a campsite and as far as firewood any tree laying on the ground is considered usable for firewood unless you have a tree hugger environmentalist wackos out there then you can't use nothing for firewood I've ever been to in my youth I've always had a campfire where's the rest of the clan do another things you have a blessed day and God bless from the Unknown Soldier

Hey friend! ☺️ They allow campfires here and in the backcountry, you can use anything lying around. We were just so tired from being up since 5am, plus the 10.5 hour drive, we were toast and ready to sleep. Nice campfires coming on day 2 and 3! God bless! 💙☀️🙏🏼
