For thousands of years, groups of nomads used Gila Cliff Dwellings as shelter. They built rooms, crafted pottery, and raised their children in that cave. It's truly a must-see sight when you're in New Mexico. And just down the road from the Dwellings is a magical Gila Hot Springs Campground that can't be missed, either!

In April 2017 I left Australia for a solo trip around the world on a BMW F800GS. I named it “Are We There Yet” because I don't know my final destination or the duration of this journey.
Throughout my journey, I'm raising money for a young disabled child in Poland named Franek. Franek was diagnosed with cerebral palsy (weakness of the entire right side of the body) and he will require constant rehabilitation for the rest of his life. All the money raised will go directly to helping Franek and his family lead as normal a life as possible so please donate generously: gogetfunding.c...

Augie's bus is New Mexico as I remember it. When I was eight I sat next to a Navajo boy who drew, in pencil, horses that surpassed the best in art museums.

There are lots of other cliff dwellings around the 4 corners (Arizona, Utah, Colorado, New Mexico) which would be worth checking out if you get a chance. They were built by the Anasazi around the same time. Really enjoy your videos, they are very real, camping, staying in budget accommodation occasionally. They remind me of my bike trip across Canada and Alaska last year

Ive been exploring the four corners areas since 1989. It is captivating, so many First Nation sites of interest. Two i have visited being in NM are Acoma Sky City just South of I 40 and Chaco Canyon further North, built by the Anasazi in appro 1000 ad. Its remote but on a dirt road, there is a campsite there too. Huge stone buildings, several storys high that housed many people. They all vacated for unknown reasons( thought to be severe drought) in 1300. This is one of your very best videos Kinga, thankyou. I have a passion for this area.

Great episode Kinga, awesome cave dwellings. We use those blankets to keep people warm with an accident. Great stuff and they don’t take that much space! 👍🏼👊🏼💪🏼👌🏼🤩

Hi Kinga, what an amazing place you were at on this episode those cave dwellings were just magical, and you are truly blessed with the people you meet on your travels, the gentleman who lives on that converted school bus was so well sorted with the hot springs providing free heat, and he seemed a kind gentle soul to get to know. Thank you.

As you were talking about survival blanket as thermo barrier under your sleeping pad I remembered I have had one sitting on my work bench since forever, wondering what use it could ever be? It is now in my tent kit to use the way you did. Lets see if it works for me as it did for you! Thanks for the tip. 🇨🇦 I went back an looked at your bio on web site. Can’t believe my wife and were following your travels since before 2017! I remember your big accident. Did not realize how much that impacted your life. Glad to see you have mended well physically and mentally. Ride on.

What a great episode, what wonderful memories you are making. I envy your youth, this is something I always wanted to do but never got started until I was already in my 60's. Trying to get the time and nerve to do a trip from Texas to California to ride the Pacific Coast Highway all the way to Canada.

I camped at Gila C.D. about two weeks after you did. Beautiful area but I will have to go back to try the hot springs! The round holes in the walls of the cliff dwellings are "casts" from timber that used to be there. Sometimes they rot or fall out over time. The ride to Silver City is unique.Thx!

F. Y. I - especially in the US, I think when traveling through small towns that are unique, you need to read the sign as you approach and share with your audience the name of the town for future travelers to know. I know that town, I've traveled it many times it is a magical place in New Mexico to travel that route! The best part is to come in the next sequence when you ride from Gila Cliff Dwellings / Campbell Store down to Silver City through those 120 some turns of absolute Bliss! Sadly, the GoPro is never ever going to capture the Steep ass climb that you have to take to get out of the bowl down there near Gila Hot Springs & the Gila river to get back up on the ridge! What a climb!! I call it the "shit & git" trail. Woe be to anybody with bad brakescoming down in! Pleased to see you dropped in on one of my favorite places in all of New Mexico and enjoyed it as immensely as I do! Love those campgrounds & the people you meet within!

I only recently found out that First Nations lived in caves built in the clay cliffs where I grew up in central British Columbia. It's a semi-arid region, so the temperature in the summer would be in the mid 30's Celsius.

P.s. 2 pytanie osobiste i niegrzeczne. Czy te nagrania są dla Ciebie również jakąś formą psychoterapii? p.s.3 Augie looks more like a native American 🤭🤭🤭
