58 foreign visitor murders in 4 years is outrageous and almost all covered up. The article doesn't state what percentage are women. however all are women in the report and all were raped before murdered. Shame oh Goa police department.
@andi22347 жыл бұрын
madhu greenleaf i read the entire article. Actually another follower posted the same story further down in tbe comments and i read that one. it states this all tbe way at the end after they describe 3 other female rape and murders around the same area. It's a rather long article but one that should be read and understood that this area is truely not safe at all. btw the 58 murders were between 2010 to 2014 which i consider to be recent in time.

One thing to consider is Agonda has consistently fantastic surf, if you learn the tides and speak to the locals about when the best time to surf (generally mid tide early morning low to high with light offshore) you can definitely whip out a groveler board or a log and get some great waves. Its very chilled out in the water and there isnt a hostile localism out there like other beaches in the area. Plenty of places to hire boards, the shack next to Agonda cottages is ran by expert locals and right in front of the part of the beach which is generally much bigger and knarlier than the left side of the beach. In monsoon season if the wind turns right the waves can reach up to 20ft and clean offshore.

@@GabrielTravelerVideos Hi Gabe, I have seen this video like 4 times already from the day it got uploaded but this time I felt to check with you if you know about "Lakshadweep islands" of India. These islands are very close to Maldives but are part of India. Very less touristy, unexplored place for you in India, very remote. You can check Travel vlog IV KZbin channel, she has been to these islands and she also explained on how to reach der. Please do consider these islands on your next trip to India. Also, I really want you to visit Bodhgaya and make some videos in that region of India. From there it will be easy for you to go to Nepal if you want. Big fan and a big respect.

Palolem beach used to known as Paradise Beach, 35 - 40 years ago it was just that but not any more. The big difference between the two beaches which you failed to identify is that Agonda beach is also a turtle beach and no development of any structures are permitted on the beach. On the other hand Palolem beach is often packed with beach shacks and stalls and getting past them at high tide can be a problem. I worked in Bombay (now Mumbai) in the early 80s and would frequently visit both of these beaches and I can assure you they were so different then. My wife and I would spend up to 6 months a year in Goa , making Agonda our base. Every year we could see a difference and not for the better we have not been back for two years now and from watching this video, I have no desire to do so. There are too many ‘out of state’ robbers in Goa now, it is no longer our second home but we still have lovely memories of what it used to be like.

I don't remember having a King's premium, unless I missed it on the label. I just ordered King's, and each one I had tasted the same. Would have been curious to try it though and taste test. One of the better beers I've had, beats Kingfisher by a million miles.

Nice! Buen Viaje! Have a favorite place? Mine is Indonesia. My daughter was born in Sumatra. Very cheap place and very beautiful. If in the area check out Pulau Weh where my daughter was born. Iboih is a nice beach there. Also check out Pulau Banyak islands and Lake Toba, Tongging on Lake Toba and surrounding area is quiet and not touristic. Great place to chill for a bit. We ented a house there for 50 cents a day many years ago. Pulau Banyak was a tropical paradise of 99 islands wher we lived on our own private island paradise with no electricity or running water. Just a well. Best snorkeling of my life. All for $5 US a day for food and everything back in 1993. No other tourists then.

What are the realistic sanitary conditions? I've seen other videos where the outdoors where normal open season in defecation. true or not, or just in certain areas
@GabrielTravelerVideos7 жыл бұрын
There are public toilets (restrooms) people use as well as the one in your hotel/guesthouse, but you will see men peeing in random places which is pretty annoying.
@peepthezoobazz7 жыл бұрын
Slums in cities, sure. But can't that be said for a lot of places in the world? You'll see Cow patties a lot... but they seem to be pretty good at cleaning it up. Some places will have open sewers that can smell.... but they're just concrete drainage ditches we have all over the world. I have never seen a person taking a dump on the streets in India. You will see people pee at least a few times. There's a lot of garbage. Whatever sanitary condition you think this means is up to you. I'm a spoiled Canadian and those things didnt really bother me lol.
@GabrielTravelerVideos7 жыл бұрын
+peepthezoobazz you nailed it. You just get used to the different conditions...or maybe you don't! Then you don't come back and go somewhere else, which is fine. In upcoming videos I will be showing more of the "real" India including the very different standards of living, the broken down shacks, plastic tarps, garbage, etc., etc. Truth is the real India, places that aren't a tourist destination at all and don't have some extra care in terms of cleaning up garbage, etc. is pretty tough to take, even for experienced travelers. They're hardcore. You'll see some villages we go through on the bus that literally look like a bomb went off there. This was just yesterday, so it will be a little while until that video is up.
@ashlesh14447 жыл бұрын
No...no one defecates in public...being an Indian I will tell u ...u might find it dirty at times....its not as clean as Canada...USA ...or Europe....but open defecatin is not true...its tough to keep a country having 1.25 billion people crammed in a place not even half as big as USA... shiny clean.. .
@JoebenProduction7 жыл бұрын
Ashlesh Pk I truly agree with you. Cleaning all the rubbish is like finding a needle in the sand. There's just way too much rubbish and mosy importantly some shacks are left broken and that's because they are temporarily built for seasons. Countries like UK have waste collection systems...while in Goa the locals burn the rubbish and re-sell/recycle the plastic while others throw it. There's a group called "Green Goa Clean Goa" where it's fighting against people who leave rubbish behind.

Way to far to walk to Agonda. Should have rented a scooter. Had one for 3 months when I stayed in Patnem. Fantastic area to explore on one. Made trips to the northern and southern most beaches and most in between in Goa. Had a blast. Would go to Agonda almost every day just for the ride and have a few beers on the beach. And I preferred Agonda over Palolem because Palolem was too touristic for my taste. Back then in 2003 Agonda was empty but I see it has grown a lot since then.

Hay bro everyone I ever knew that went to India has gotten sick. Make video about how to not get sick traveling?🤔
@GabrielTravelerVideos7 жыл бұрын
Good topic except that I don't really have any specific tips for that. I've just been lucky I guess. I've been sick while traveling but not food poisoning or bad stomach sickness sort of a thing. There isn't any magic trick I know of other than use common sense and if a place looks questionable don't go there. And avoid the water, just drink bottled water.
@JoebenProduction7 жыл бұрын
Home Bummingit Hi, When people visit India what they do is not take a rest. Always remember you're in a hot country and will get tired after travelling. Sickness can be caused by: • Food poisoning • Water ( I advise you to drink bottled water) • Not to roam when it's too hot. This happend to me where I went to Goa and then next day we traveled to Chennai (on train) and there things got worse for me. Had very bad vomiting and diahorrea. Had to go to local doctor and get my self injected lol. Ps: I didn't eat nothing before I got sick so the heat got me.
