Sapporo’people change the troublesome and burdensome object of snow to the happy and delightful beauty. Wonderful!

Was curious why Sapporo receives so much snow after watching a few snow removal videos. It's basically the same reason the Great Lakes region gets lake effect snow here in the United States. The cold air comes across the warmer water and causes the snow. In the case of Sapporo, the cold air comes from Siberia and the ocean's warmth causes the large snowfall. Just found it interesting, lol.

Whenever I hear the phrase “lake effect” in the winter, it’s the same as hearing “too much snow”. I wonder if Sapporo has a similar phrase for “here it comes!” 😄

Japan is the most peaceful country in the world with very polite and considerate people and very very low crime rate. It is very homogeneous with practically all Japanese. So, please tell me again how wonderful diversity is.

🇧🇷🇧🇷 NONE of them is like JAPAN. The world desires a japanese society . Prepare to be amazed: BRAZIL has more japanese descent than the WHOLE Japanese society in JAPAN ITSELF. DID YOU KNOW THAT? YOU DIDN'T! Among all people on eath , WE BRAZILIANS wish the ENTIRE JAPAN WOULD MOVE TO BRAZIL. WE LOVE THESE PEOPLE !! 🇧🇷🇧🇷

When is the best time to visit this festival? How long should we stay to fully enjoy and experience this event?

Sometimes I wish I was Japanese, or at least married a nice Japanese girl and had a chance to relocate there. Its rare to see a high functioning, high trust society these days, one that has managed to retain its demographic makeup and culture. I hope Japan never loses this, because its becoming a rarity now.

Nice, but the Snow sculptures are nothing compared to the ones in Harbin, China.
@saaccitt7 ай бұрын
I searched for the Harbin Snow Festival. Yes, there are large ice structures, but they would not be allowed in Japan for safety reasons. And in terms of the variety of statues, Sapporo has a lot of domestic creations, while Harbin has buildings, Buddhist statues, and Mickey Mouse-like shapes Harbin is an event that started 40 years after Sapporo. Did you imitate it as usual?
