Cool music and video Brighton! That’s my stomping grounds los Barriles. Been taking my vacation there since 1980. Awesome town and now my grandkids are enjoying it. Thanks again for video and we love your channel 🤙😎

Love the music Brighton. I couldn’t stop dancing when I was watching the video. Also, thank you for pointing out this store. My wife and I were walking in an identical place in Los Olivos California. We thought to ourselves look at all this great place but we couldn’t buy anything because we couldn’t ship it to Los Cabo’s. Well, now we can go to the store in Los Barilles

Definitely check out El toro y la luna! I noticed online that there are two locations pretty close to one another. I'm guessing both places have better prices than "north" California ;-)

Hey Brighton : We have friends from home that spent 3 months in Los Barriles this winter. We visited for 3 days and left for our rented home in La Paz. Didn't enjoy the vibe at all. We ate at the same beach restaurant that you did. Definitely on a slow to slower pace. The owner is a Gringo who keeps things hopping a little, when she's there. Loved La Paz for our 3 months, and meeting you two a couple of times at the place on the Malecon. Buen Viaje A Portland cuando as tempo. We'll be back to La Paz next year after spending a couple of months in Nayarit & Colima. Saludos

Thanks for writing Joe. I definitely like La Paz better than Los Barriles. Good place to visit, not to live. See you next year! Enjoy the mainland.

i love Los Barriles, the big store you mentioned (cow and moon: El Torro y La Luna) it is one of the reasons we travel there from Cabo, we prefer this store to Tienda 17 in Los Cabos. Bunea Suerte, good night
@AlmostRetiredinMexico2 жыл бұрын
I definitely like Torro y Luna, but I still like Tienda 17 better. You never know what you'll find a Tienda 17. T&L is more curated to be in good taste ;-)

Hi Guys! Those stores looked amazing 👏 and great price on the custom lamp wow. We didn't make it to Los Barriles this past trip....something to look forward to next time. We absolutely have fallen in love with La Paz and El Centenario, can't wait to get back at the end of 2022 🏄♂️⚓☀️🌝

So miss my Rav-4, but my daughter and I got 12 years from it. She drove it high school, college and pharmacy school. I figure that was better for the environment than getting her a new one! The info on Los Braille’s is fantastic!

Always better to drive an existing car than buy a new one (from an environmental perspective.) The RAV4 is great. Our RV is in the shop today. Crossing my fingers.

I agree with your assessment of Los Barriles based on my quick trip there last month. It's too xpat for me - same for Cabo and Todo Santos. I like it over here in La Paz better TBH. Hasta Luego!

The "side by sides" where people get to sit next to each other start around $10k USD used and around $20-40k USD new. Needless to say, we don't own one. We bought a 2003 Toyota RAV4 for $5000USD and it gets us in and out of most places (but I'll be releasing a video soon showing when we could have used an ATV...)

FYI Re Transmission. If you do not have a Transmission cooler get 1. If you have a small 1 get a bigger 1. You are driving something with all the aero dynamics of a brick.

Turns out the only problem was a little switch on the outside of the transmission (which a different shop had already replaced, but used the wrong replacement part.) I just discovered I have a transmission cooler and the shop thought it was in good shape. Thanks!

Just tired of these kind of gringos who always looking the cheapest way in 3rd world, here some tips to live in mexico, real state is not necessary you can deal directly with owners (they dont bite ) real state always overvalue their properties also selling in USD at Mexico, real states in baja sur mexico are monopolizing and destroying La Paz, they already have destroyed Cabo and Todos Santos privatizing public beaches and protected areas to replace with condos, hotels and golf courses we are running out of water for population in this state, now they go to La Paz, and Los Barriles with their paradisiacal propaganda.. Are you want to be part of Mexico and their communities? directly support the locals, avoid US real states, amazon, cotsco, home depot.. baja sur is not las vegas or hawaii.

I just spent the winter there. Most people would love it there, but I felt like it was a gringo town where expats tried to bring their life with them and hang out with other gringos. Not for me.
@AlmostRetiredinMexico2 жыл бұрын
Yeah - I kinda had that feeling too. Good place to visit, but too gringo to live. I hope you find a good match!

ATVs everywhere is a total turnoff. How good is that for one's environmental heart?
@AlmostRetiredinMexico2 жыл бұрын
Yeah - it's interesting. One of the ATV owners told me he took his ATV to La Ventana and was scorned by the locals (expats and Mexicans.) It seems each place has it's own ethos. Both are wind-surfing towns, but one comes with ATVs and the other is free from ATVs.
