Exploring Niagara Falls, New York - Tour of My Favorite Places - Schoellkopf Ruins - American Falls

This week’s adventure continues with my good friend Tolle from @TheTolleRoad. This week brings us to one of my favorite places, Niagara Falls New York. I bring Tolle on a walking tour of the area and show some of the really cool places that I enjoy so much. We also found a few places that I’ve been to before! After seeing Niagara Falls and Three Sisters Islands, we head to the Schoellkopf Power Station Ruins for a quick exploration. We then head to the City of Niagara Falls for a little walkabout and some lunch at the Red Coach Inn. We finish off the day with a trip to the Niagara Whirlpool and Lewiston New York’s famous restaurant The Silo for one of their famous Haystack Sandwiches. It was a busy day with so many cool things to see! Do Come Along!!!

Just what we needed, classic Unkle Heavy video -- from start to finish! The Schoellkopf site and its history was so cool. A nice surprise. Speaking of surprises, have you ever seen the short lived Fox show "Wonderfalls," which was set in Niagara Falls? After hearing a reference to it, we found the pilot here. It was good enough for us to look for more episodes. You've sold me on Haystacks; now I need a review of Hibbard's. 🍦😋 And my wife, Angela, loved the visit to Red Coach. Yeah, I kinda wanted to go old school with the video this week.😁The Schoellkopf Site was a really cool discovery. I only recently learned that the elevator was opened up to the public. I love finding places like that! And the Carbondale Hygienist, GREAT Office reference!!! 🤣 So, next time you guys are in town, you HAVE to go the Silo and try a haystack, you won't regret it!!!!!!

Crazy to imagine an entire building failing into the water, I wonder how much notice they had or if there was any indication that they were in danger. Great vlog guys, didn’t know half of what you presented.

I think it was only about 8 hours from the time they first noticed the problem until the whole building collapsed. It's a pretty scary story.

I believe helicopters relocated to the NF airport.

I just found out the other day they relocated. I'm glad because I know it was family owned and it was pretty amazing to experience!!!
