Exploring Nord synths with industry legend Gary Bromham at TYX Studios London.

Headline Audio got to spend the day at Tileyard Studios London with composer, artist, music producer and mix engineer Gary Bromham exploring his decades long relationship with Nord synthesisers.
During our time together, we explored Nord’s synthesizer legacy and discussed his extensive experience with them over the years.
Gary has worked with many artists including Bjork, George Michael, Sheryl Crow, Bow Wow Wow, The Tubes, Robbie Neville, Eddie Money and The Fixx to name but a few. More recently, holding a PhD in Computer Science specializing in music and timbre perception from Queen Mary University London, Gary’s research delves into the implications of intelligent and AI-based music systems. His recently released book, ‘Distortion in Music Production: The Soul of Sonics,’ has garnered acclaim from industry legends and is a must-read for any aspiring music professionals.
Recording under the name Convergence, Gary is set to release his forthcoming album ‘It’s All About Noise,’ which showcases his impressive musical abilities.

Wow so cool to see this video...Glad to see that someone claimed as Gary endorsing the Nords. I love my 1 and 2 and really think they are some of the best synths ever...I got 3 as well and always on the look out for more Nords!! But Gary beats me with his collection it seems..haha..

Which wave is the best and which is your favorite Nord? I heard 3 is the best but never tried it.

The Nord Lead 3 is a sound designer's synth, and does sound nice But most folks tend to prefer the 1 and 2/2X because they have a brighter sound, which Don Solaris demonstrated in a comprehensive audio test in some forum The 2/2X also tends to have a slightly richer low end as well, which I think comes down to the type of Saw wave it generates, and how that affects the harmonics of each tone You can hear piles of soundbanks for the Nord Lead 2X and 3, and compare and contrast their sounds Dawnchaser uses both in his songs, and you can hear the Nord Lead 3 in his recent Daybreak track, and the 2X in all his stuff from last year on, if you wanna hear the Nords in real songs
