My speech delayed 3 year old talks so much (for her) when she sees Jackson. So many of her first times for phrases and words have come from her hanging out with "Jackson Baby" ❤️. Thank you for continuing to include the entire family in videos.

The legend of the half flower you were told is a bit different than the one I grew up with. Madam Pele (volcano goddess) was jealous of these lovers and separated them, one in the mountains and one at the sea. If you go in the mountains, you can find a plant with only half a flower. The other half you can find near the ocean. The legend says if you join 2 halves of the flower, it starts to rain, as their spirits are crying over being reunited with each other. Hope you enjoyed Oahu!

It's too bad that Jackson was too young for you guys to see the Polynesian Cultural Center . I believe the shows are asking for the youngest guest to be 4 and over. But when he is older I hope you get to experience it. My sister and parents went and they said it was AMAZING! I loved that you got to swim up to a waterfall. Plus now I am craving pineapple and banana Dole whip!

Jenn's lei had tuber roses, which is why she said it smells dso good. Anytime I go to Hawaii (big fan of Kauai) I get some tuber roses for the hotel room. (Safeway is a good place for affordable flowers.) That way anytime here at home in California, when I find tuber roses it brings me right back to Hawaii in memories. Plus they are such a sweet smell, it makes the room seem extra Hawaiian! I also taught my kid to pick a scent from the Royal Hawaiian brand and to wear that the whole trip, so then later they have a way to trigger their memory.

I am glad you got to enjoy Waimea, North Shore and all the little things that make Oahu so much like home for me when I lived there when in the Army. While you can see most everything in a day, its still always something to see each time out. I miss being out there, just not the prices lol

So glad you guys left the resort! There’s so much beauty and culture to see in Hawaii. As film fans you guys should check out the “Hollywood movie sites” tour at Kualoa ranch next time. All of their tours around the property are fantastic. Mikes Huli Huli chicken is another great North Shore spot.

If you don't have that budget, Oahu is so easily explored on your own. Rent a vehicle (you can rent from Aulani, if you don't want a vehicle your whole trip) Waimea also has a free farmers market during the week with great local vendors. Right by the pipeline is sunrise shack! Check that out. Also, go for a hike! Green Mountain coffee is fantastic. Ugh, you were right by surf and salsa...you missed the best truck!

I fell asleep in the car on the way there because I was in marching band and we were marching on the big island. I got stuck in my car while my family went into the bakery and then they realized they left me in the car. The bakery reminded me of this story. This looks like a beautiful family day.

Chocolate plants are one unusual plant as despite the constant need for humidity they need actual shade to thrive. These are out in the sun which means they aren’t going to taste as good. Shaded ones or the ones with a canopy of trees do much better and taste much better.

You guys are so lucky that your toddler is so adventurous! I was watching and thinking there is no way I'd be able to get my girls in the water there, certainly not as toddlers! My older one is 7 and tall enough for just about everything at Disney, but she will not go on thrill rides. Her sister won't do coasters either, not even the kiddie ones. To be fair, I was too scared to do coasters myself until I was about 10! When we went to Aulani a couple years ago, we had a almost 2 year old and a 4 and a half year old....we didn't even bother leaving the resort since we felt the girls would just whine. Hopefully next time we'll get to do some tours!
