Exploring on My New (To Me!) 1997 BMW F650: Hickory Run State Park & Boulder Field (Pennsylvania)

It is really nice to see somebody taking pride of ownership on a classic bike like thatF650. I have a 2010 F650 GS (the 800 cc parallel twin version), and find it to be an incredibly versatile and very high quality motorcyle. So many channels are about the newest, biggest, fastest models, and why you need to "upgrade" - especially in the adventure bike world. Clearly this is exactly the bike you need for the sort of longer adventures you go on, and the type of riding you do. It is terrific to see that it has found an owner who appreciates its virtues and takes good care of it Man those are some big and butt ugly panniers. The bike looks really sexy with them off....

Thanks for watching! It’s a great machine. I agree it looks best with the boxes off, but they’re also cool in the fact that they were made specifically for this bike. I haven’t seen too much of that. The back is shaped around the plastic and the exhaust. It’s really interesting!

Hey, I bought mine in 2021 when they were impossible to find. I was kind of at the mercy of the dealer but I paid about $4800 with taxes and fees. I’ve seen some floating used between $3500 and $4200, and I think quite a few dealers are able to get these now despite their high demand.
