Jill's death is something I'll NEVER forget, holy shit. That dude Hoffman coming in the police station like he's the fucking terminater. I didn't know how to feel about what he did to her. I mean she tried to do the same to him, I'm conflicted. Love your review. I hope you review the omen series one day. I really love the first two films.

Ever since Saw IV, I always wondered what the hell happened after Dr. Gordan left Adam. I marked out when it showed his role behind the games. This movie was bitter sweet for me. I loved it and loved the conclusion, but was bitter because it was over. These movies were something I always looked forward to every year. The next few Halloween seasons didn't feel the same without a new Saw movie being released in theatres.

It was Chester Bennington lol he loved the series so they gave him a part! The final chapter was everything me and my pal expected for the most part and that was partly our issue with it, but that’s because we (and most fans) had deciphered 1-6 to death and wanted, no, NEEDED the return of the Doc! Not a bad entry but I thought Dr Gordon only helped because maybe he realised how right John was and it seemed like his wife and kid were gone from his life so it made it more plausible that he accepted Johns methods and would help after he sealed his fate with his family etc... I did love the idea of someone profiting from a lie of surviving a Jigsaw game, especially when John meets him and says “we haven’t met” lol. I also love it when Gordon is reminiscing over the hacksaw and says “I don’t think so” ha 🤟

Ahh… the debut of The Hoffinator! Or as I like to call it “Hoffman does his best Jason Voorhees impression.” Only parts I like of this are Dr. Gordon’s scenes and Hoffman’s badass rampage. Oh, and seeing Jill get owned after being rather annoying and trying to kill Hoffman was satisfying… although how she died will to me be the most disturbing death in the series. I only refer to this film as Saw VII, it’s not worthy of being called “The Final Chapter,” and also the original title only serves to remind me that making a Saw film in 3D was unnecessary and didn’t work the way that Friday the 13th and Jaws’ 3D films did.
@darthmeticulous6901 Жыл бұрын
2:10-2:13 That doesn’t surprise me. I however, love it. It makes all those little hints in Saws 2-6 worth it in the end, hence why I call the ending of Saw 7 as one of the best parts of the film. I only wish this wasn’t two films crammed into one, as I feel Dr. Gordon’s story would have been done much better with more time and one more film. Frickin’ studio interference.

It had to be Dr Gordon’s game for John because Hoffman’s path is that of a pure revanchist in this entry, even though John had it planned, it feels as though it definitely got tweeked lol or John is a killer and that's that ha, and I’m sure in the audio commentary it’s said that Gordon’s piggy minions are actually from the survivor meeting, I want to say one of them was Daniel Matthews but it’s been so long since I listened to it lol

As a life long Saw fan, I liked 7 for what it was. Hoffman's quest for revenge on Jill and the remainder of the police department kept me engaged. The way the film ties Bobby's game to the main plot is both clever and brutal. The ending to me made sense and it adds to the series overall when revisiting the films. Some of these traps rank among the best in the franchise. As for cons, the 3D visuals look dated, some of the acting isn't up to par, and it lacks the mystery and social commentary that define some of the best installments in the series. The basics are there, but the film operates more like a slasher than as a psychological thriller. I rank it above 4, 5, and Jigsaw. Saw 4 and 5 to me were the most meandering, solely focusing on retconning the past enough to justify more sequels happening. 6 and 7 validated those films in my opinion. Jigsaw broke the story's credibility and did absolutely nothing with the new ideas it introduced.

This was not as good as part 6 obviously but it damn sure has it's moments. The Dr. Gordon twist has been predicted online imdb boards since the original film. It was so obvious when he mysteriously shows up at the support group. I did love how he takes down Hoffman. Hoffman was pure fuckin evil in this one. Gordon helping John makes sense in the context of this film with survivors debating how Jigsaw genuinely helped them get a new high off life. I do enjoy this and part 5 a lot in the context of the series but I agree they are not as great as 2-5 or especially part 6 and the original film. Jigsaw was cool and I rank it somewhere above 5 and below Final Chapter.

This movie is entertaining. This is what i think of whenever The haters of Saw comment about the franchise. The horrible acting and the messy scenes. Where it is really all about the traps. Ofcourse, it's the worst of the series. But, on it's own. If I'd watch it independently(not during a marathon). Then it's fun. 3 things i liked in the movie: 1-Hoffman being pretty much a no nonsense 80's slasher villain. 2-The Traps. Even the ridiculous furnace one. Seeing it for the first time, I thought it was gonna be a spaceship. And she was gonna rocket out of there. LOL Imagine it exploding and the guts flying everywhere in "THREEEEEEEEE DEEEEEEEE!!!" 3-I like The Dr Gordon twist. Because, they showed him being nursed back to health. How long was it? And him being around a silver tongue fox like Kramer. He can brainwash a saint. Plus, Cary Elwes has such cool facial expression, voice and presense of a Villain. So i really wish they'd go back to Dr Gordon in a future sequel. Would be cool if Hoffman is on the run. Gordon helping out the police to take Hoffman down. While Gordon is putting up traps thru the connections he makes in the police department. Fun film. I always laugh hard at some of the cringy scenes. And how ridiculous it gets. But, it's a parody of what Saw is all about. 4/10
@darthmeticulous6901 Жыл бұрын
To be honest, the film would have worked better if the Bobby Dagen part was split away into a separate film as parody, and the Hoffman plot was fused with all the unused Dr. Gordon stuff to be the actual film.

Jill should've known better than giving Hoffman a chance to break out of the reverse bear trap if the intent was to rid of him. Why not set the clock at 30 or 20 secs instead of a full 60 secs considering Hoffman doesn't play fair himself in the traps he sets up for others. Her hauling ass when she saw she fucked up lol Don't piss off the Hoff!

@@sinistercinemareviews5420 Cost her big time. TBF, John and Amanda truly didn't play fair either. So there was no "honour" really to go by. Why wouldn't John tell Dr. Gordon to eliminate Hoffman if he knew his wife's life would be at risk before even allowing Hoffman to go after her?

Before I hear your view. I gotta place this in last place. The ending was great. Curious who the other 2 are. But this was too unbelievable. The public trap, the no floor help blind guy. Please. Even when Swat comes across it, they don't blink, let's go another way. What up with the Walter White machine gun? Hoffman going total Rambo. I enjoy the idea of the fake Survivor. The return of Dr. Gordon answers so much. But overall, to me it's the weakest. Still need to re-watch Jigsaw, which I think I liked. I think they played around with time again. I wasn't a big fan of this one, although I loved Hoffman's rampage through the police station. Gore hound! 3D movies are a waste, it's cool for a few moments then it's basically the same until they utilize a shot to accent it, which usually isn't worth having to wear the glasses the entire time and when you watch the movie in regular version it just makes for a weird shot. However, there are some scenes that 3D really make pop, like that first Star Wars movie with Rey where she's scavenging in some huge ship, was really hoping to see some of that with the gore in this one but nothing really stands out as I recollect my experience.
