Pretty much. When you're alone, you're very very afraid of something sneaking up on you, and you've got a solid sense of being alone, where no-one can save you but yourself. But when you add a friend, you've got a buddy to joke around and chat with, who can watch your back while you watch theirs. You become basically unstoppable.

It was a lot of fun to play as a shooter, but a LOT of content is intended for multiple people (bullshit monster closets, and some areas locked off from solo play entirely) so the traditional Dead Space player is just going to be frustrated with the first half and disappointed with the second. It was more intense than scary, so it only really shined on replay value. Sorry, just my two cents as a big fan of that series.

Hey Mark, just wanted to let you know, the reason they were eating each other is because their in different factions. The Darker skinned, taller ones are in a faction, their like the alpha chads. The lighter skinned more frail ones are in their own faction. The ones with skulls on their backs are leaders, if you have on paint they will be peaceful if your weapon is put away, and they will worship you. The ones with red skin are gods, and they will one hit you. (Their not totally peaceful if you have paint, they think your a redskin, which are like their gods, but if you turn your back they will still attempt to rape you. Just keep your weapon sheathed and they will pray and leave you alone.)
