me and my college roommates found a really great One Direction vampire kidnapped fic from like 2014 and we started a whole book club that would meet at like 1 am somewhere on campus and we'd read it aloud. We ended up with like 8 members with a couple exhausted med students, a really nice football player guy, and others all unironically invested in the fate of y/n. I think at one point the author took the story down, but a couple of us found her on instagram and begged her to put it back up so she did. we've all graduated or dropped out but she's in college now and we're all so proud :))))

i remember when i was 13 and i used to review books on wattpad for people---you'd fill out a little form for me asking me to review your book and i'd read it and post a review in my review book. someone asked me to review their poetry book, and i did. and the next day i got a comment from their friend saying i'd upset this poetry writer so much that they'd deleted their wattpad account. and i swear i didnt even say anything that harsh, i just said they'd written a bunch of poems that were all literally the same words besides the first line (so it was repetitive and not that engaging to read), and that their poems didn't rhyme so i didn't like them. and i didn't say it in a mean way. but they gave me a whole lecture on slam-dunk poetry and asked me to apologise and told me i should say that i don't know anything about poetry before offering to review poetry books. and 13 year old me basically told them to stuff it.

I've reviewed a lot of fiction and poetry on Wattpad as well since the age of 15 and luckily never had to experience that. I always make sure to write in my introduction as a reviewer that I will be giving constructive criticism, which can be both positive and negative, so anyone who can't tolerate negative criticism shouldn't fill out my form. I noticed I got less requests than others in the club, but I was satisfied with the fact that everyone I reviewed took the review well.
