"we grow old chasing the truth we knew as children" isn't even bad. it's an interesting, intriguing concept, albeit one that has been explored in many different forms. the execution is just plain lazy. this is more similair to a tumblr post from 2014 than to an actual poem. it's just a sentence with no structure at all and kind of leaves the "work" to the reader, who has to wonder what meaning was even intented by the author with only a one-layered, simple sentence as a clue to what it could possibly mean.

That's what drives me crazy about Instagram "poetry". They start off with a gorgeous sentence and I go hmm, I'm intrigued, go on. And then I realize that they do not, in fact, go on. They just end abruptly like those people who make a good point and then say, "But you're not ready for that conversation." 😑

read my mind! that one that's like "don't spend your life convincing others you should be loved" or something like that is taken from a tumblr post verbatim and is on every single instagram quote page. it's not original at all, if you're going to write poetry at least add something of your own.

So Alina was a girl that was a huge fan of Atticus's poems to the point where she got a verse of his tattooed on her arm. Her friend messaged Atticus to see if she could get an early release of his audiobook before she passed, but he opted instead to read his book to her in person. By the time he got there, she was unconscious, but she could still hear, so he read his poems to her and read some poems she had written. She passed away shortly after. So I have no qualms with this dude. Props to him.

@@Ash_W04 No. It's an offensive slur for the Rromani people. The way you're using it is still a slur for a group of people, it's similar to the n word. Try bohemian or nomad or free spirit, g*psy is a slur

now.org/blog/the-g-word-isnt-for-you-how-gypsy-erases-romani-women/ The verb gyp (gypped) is part of this, it's related to the offensive stereotype that Rromani people are cons and steal money or sell things more expensive than they're worth

Pov: You're the quirky, bookish type of girl walking into the library. Not to actually read anything, just to sniff the books and rave about that book smell to frightened employees. You sniff a book of poetry...you feel Atticus's sincere warmth. A hand taps your shoulder, preceding a deep, masculine voice. "Excuse me, miss..." The love is too strong! You shut your eyes, thrust round and kiss him on the lips. You open your eyes. The man was a police officer. "Miss, you have defied the restraining order, ignored staff warnings, made library visitors uncomfortable and tried to seduce an officer. You're under arrest." But you let him take you. It's nice to be wanted by someone. ❤ (liek if u cryyyeeeeeeeeeeed)
