I often rive over a small mountain pass on Vancouver Island and never stop to take a look at the views.
I decided to stop at the two viewpoints and the rest area to check them out and see what they have to offer.
Incredible views are offered up and it's worth stopping and taking a look.
Come along and enjoy the adventure😁

Yeah, the road noise was quite loud, especially in that rest area! It looks like such a nice spot to have lunch...you'd need earplugs to enjoy it. The views are really good from up there. I'm glad that they decided to put them in when building the highway.

This was very nice to see you stop at couple different spots along your drive. That totem was beautiful looking and the view of the water at the end was also really nice.

Yeah, if you ever get a chance, you should come visit😁 There's lots to see even if you just stick to the touristy spots. The traffic noise up there was quite loud. I was surprised. I'm aiming to explore even more new areas to me this summer. There's quite a lot to see. Thanks for coming along , Craig😀

I have always thought it would be cool to stop at all the historical marker signs along the roads and highways on our travels. The roads are always so busy, and there is never enough time. I enjoyed the ride and the sights. That final viewpoint was beautiful. I did a video yesterday at a beautiful spot in Idaho, and it had an area that was distasteful from people throwing change and hairbands on a rock at the lookout 😳
@agesadventures
@agesadventures 6 күн бұрын
Well, there certainly are a lot of historical marker signs all over the place. Maybe try to hit the ones close to home, so you can see what the tourists see😁 Why would people throw change on a rock? I'd be there picking it up...money is money, lol😀 The hairbands sound kind of strange too!

Squirrel🐿 Thanks, Owen😁 I don't know when I'll be doing the big hike. There have been a lot of distractions for me this year, so I haven't been out getting my needed exercise and thus I'm not in the aerobic shape for it yet. I may need to delay until next year, but we'll see. I may still be able to get myself ready for it this summer.

I wonder if when the first rest stop was created, there was a more of an open view that has been obscured over the years. Still a beautiful vista. As for the sign. Sadly, people will ignore it and continue to dump their rubbish, believing it someone else's responsibility to clear up their mess. We do go around with our eyes shut a lot these days, zipping from place to place and not taking it all in. Thanks for sharing, Age. Have a great weekend.
@agesadventures
@agesadventures 6 күн бұрын
It probably was quite cleared in the past and yes the trees have grown up around it over the years. Unfortunately, where the people are throwing their trash is not easily accessible so it just sits there for everyone to see☹ We sure do go around with our eyes shut or at least with blinders on so we only see forward. It was fun to stop and take a look. I hope you're having a great weekend too, Chris😁 By the way, I'm close to the 4,000. 42 hours to go, so hopefully, I'll hit the mark soon😀

Those are some pretty fantastic views!! I'm with you, some signage just shouldn't be needed...common sense people! It's like our Peggy's Cove and the signs all over to keep off the wet rocks...but people don't and risk and some inevitable lose of life. Nice to have these pull-off areas along the highway...stretch those legs and have a snack too!
@agesadventures
@agesadventures 6 күн бұрын
Yeah, the views were really good😀 Yup, the signage was ignored too☹ Garbage thrown over the fence! It sounds like the Peggy's Cove signs are a little more important. Trying to save lives. I like that we have these pull-offs. I'm lad when building the highways, the government and builders thought of a little more than just getting from Point A to Point B.

OK here’s a question for you: over 25 years ago, after I proposed to my wife, we stopped at a really fancy and expensive five star restaurant somewhere on the Malahat.
