It could also happen after Loki has taken his seat in the citadel at the end of time. Now, the word after makes things confusing because Loki is out of time, and the S.H.I.E.L.D. team would experience everything real time, but I think it's probably safe to assume that any time travel not stated to have always been what was supposed to happen happens after Loki season 2, which itself happens after Loki season 1. Again, the word after is confusing, but try not to think about it too much. Of course, I am taking about it with the knowledge of season 2, which released way after your comment was posted.

No matter what you are talking about you always highlight your favourite parts and see the best in it and I really appreciate that. A lot of people who make this sort of content often take a more toxic approach and even among those who don't very rarely do I see anything as constantly positive as you. I think you putting out this positivity into the world is really amazing and that you make the world a better place through doing it in, atleast some small measure. Keep up the fantastic work.

Thanks so much for the feedback. I'm so glad you feel I keep things positive. I really do love the MCU and while there are things that can be improved upon, I just find it more enjoyable to talk about the good aspects as there is so must to love. And if I do bring up an aspect that I'm not as fond of, I'd still rather do it with as much grace as I can because I know that just because I don't like something, there are likely other viewers who may love that particular thing. Anyway, I really appreciate the encouragement. Thanks so much for watching the vid and sharing your kind words!

@@Cris00900340 Agreed...it's just a fun head canon item which has never been stated to be official by Marvel. So that's why I feel it is a potential connection, but not as solid as the other more obvious connections between the movies and shows. But still fun head canon, none-the-less.

I am very thankful you're doing this It pains me so much that people disregard the Marvel Television shows as non-canon to the larger MCU, even when Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is one of the best Marvel products there are and it ties so much with the films, and to see you do this... Hopefully it will shed some light into those non-believers haha. The ABC, Netflix, Freeform and Hulu shows were conceived as canon, produced and filmed as canon, and released as canon. They should and WILL remain as such. I have also researched for years the MCU Wiki timeline a million times, I have Word documents with the timeline, I am doing a Letterboxd list to follow it, I have done MCU-rewatches with following the timelines and dates presented here. It's such an amazing world to dive into, and to know WHEN it all happens, it gives so much insight and sense of realism. Thank you again!

I love the way Deke explains time travel as throwing sticks into a river they become part of the timeline like grandfather paaradox. But too many sticks and you create a damn which makes a new timeline. I always felt like that was a good explanation for captain america becoming an old man. He hung around the background without changing anything so he just ended up being in the main timeline again. That explains why he doesnt travel back through the time machine.
@AbitofEverything4U Жыл бұрын
Yeah, Deke's explanation was definitely thought-provoking. ig for me, I can't imagine even the smallest change not having a large impact down the line. Kinda like how What If illustrates that one simple decision being different can have such massive impact, especially the father back in time that it occurs. Man, I really wish Marvel would give us a special presentation where they explain what Cap did when he went to live with Peggy. Please, Marvel...please!

Great video (as usual)! You have quickly become one of my favorite MCU content creators. I want to add that I also agree the events of AoS season 5 put the MCU into a new branch, and I think this could reconcile the timeline designation debate. 199999 is the original MCU timeline (where the Earth was destroyed), and 616 is the new timeline that the MCU has been following since December 2017 that was created by the shield agents when they time traveled.
@AbitofEverything4U Жыл бұрын

Love these videos and I look how you're the only channel or resource, aside from the MCU Wiki, who is exploring the Marvel TV timeline in depth. Absolutely agree with the placement of the Agent Carter One-Shot, Agent Carter S1 and Agent Carter S2. Only mild discrepancy with Agent Carter S2 is that Jarvis mentions it's snowing back in New York! In July! I don't think so! But that mild error on the writers aside, everything else fits neatly. With Agents of SHIELD S1, the comment that they manged to evade Talbot for an entire winter is just been taken too literally by the Wiki. Winter lasts December - February in the northern hemisphere and really we don't enter proper spring-time astronomically until mid-March. The foliage in Washington DC in The Winter Soldier is just way too green for it to be in January so I would keep it in its original timeframe of April at earliest. The comment might have been hyperbole on Talbot's part and his team may have been assigned to another task at the end of Winter before going back to Coulson's crew a couple of months later. Everything else from "a year ago" to "a couple of weeks" is kept vague and open to interpretation. I'd place AoS S2 as starting in September 2014 (fitting in with the season start date) and finishing in May 2015. This would fit with S2 taking place a few months later. No disagreements on the rest of the timeline. Everything else is placed as well as it can be and your explanations as always are great!
@AbitofEverything4U Жыл бұрын
Yeah, tbh, I really struggle with Winter Soldier being in January. I like April (when it was released) alot better. You give some very good food for thought on why things could be shifted to make that April date work. I do think that Ep 1 being set "one year" before Ep 20 is another hint that the season started in May of 2014, but I'd still much rather have Winter Soldier in April timeframe. And I also agree with you that the rest of the timeline fits together very well. Excellent feedback! Thanks so much for watching the vid and sharing your thoughts. Really appreciate it!

39:04 - what if...the future they prevented from happening (where the earth was destroyed) was actually a branched timeline (that was caused by certain event) that they had to prevent in order to keep the sacred timeline the way it was always supposed to happen. And them doing so is just a different TVA -free way in "pruning" that branched timeline? A thing that was supposed to happen and has always been planned by Kang in order for them to learn about time travel to then use it in the future and keep the sacred timeline up and running?
@AbitofEverything4U Жыл бұрын
Interesting idea! I do really like that the experience allows Fitz to learn about the quantum realm and branching and timelines, etc. In fact Fitz gave a better explanation of how it all worked than we got in Endgame, tbh. So that's a neat theory that Kang wanted it to happen so that our heroes could learn about branching, pruning, etc. Very cool!

This is awesome! My mentality is that agents of shield seasons 1-4 happen on the 616(199999) timeline but once it hits season 5 it branches for a short time like with the avengers when they took the stones out. Then sixhappens during the 5 year gap in endgame but in a separate timeline. Then season 7 happens around the same time as endgame with the ending of shield happening as the final battle of endgame is going down. Then fitz says they are going back to their original timeline so everything that happened in that small alternate timeline merges into 616(199999) but they make it back after tony has passed because of how much they jumped through time they don't realize how much time has passed.

My theory is that by the end of Season 5, all that's happened on Earth in Infinity War was the attack on New York, or maybe the attack on Vision in Europe. When Daisy, Simmons, Piper, and Davis take off in outer space looking for Fitz, they left before the Snap happened, which is why none of them worry that he's been blipped- because they just don't know about it. Season 6 shows the Agents of SHIELD on Earth driving around in public in cars with the SHIELD logo on them, indicating SHIELD has by this time regained official, respectable status in the world. Frankly, after the 5 seasons of unending public relations nightmares, I don't see how that could be possible *except* because of the Snap. If SHIELD managed to survive the Snap virtually intact, then it just stands to reason that a lot of other government/international peacekeeping agencies were all but obliterated. So there'd be a great deal of public, worldly relief that there's still at least one such agency where all of its trained, seasoned professionals are still around to keep the peace. This is reinforced in Endgame, where we see by the end of the Blip, Steve and Natasha are no longer fugitives. After the immensity of half of all life on Earth ceasing to exist, the controversaries surrounding the MCU's heroes would feel like they no longer matter.
@AbitofEverything4U Жыл бұрын
Wow, that's some great feedback. I really like your points about why SHIELD would be respected again during the blip, as people needed SHIELD in place to help with all the insanity that life would have been like during the blip. Awesome video! And its cool to see someone acknowledge that the timeline could have diverged from sacred timeline in s4/5 rather than just the last series. My theory is always been that the timeline that we see the team return to at the end of Agents Of Shield is still not original sacred timeline, there are too many key differences still, the main one being that Shield as an organisation has retuned in a big way, which doesn’t seem to be the case in the current MCU. I think that just by going forward into the future at the end of S4 creates a branch in itself, the present they return to is one where Thanos happens to lose the Battle Of Wakanda. This is why we don’t see evidence of the blip in season 6. I think in the main timeline there is an alternate version of the shield team that didn’t travel forward in time at all at the end of the s4, thus not creating the whole self fulfilling timeline loop to begin with. Maybe I’m overthinking this, but it makes sense to me rather than just the time travel in season 7 causing a divergent timeline as there there are just too many differences by that point already.

Great video! I love how you break down the individual episodes and all the indications to narrow down their placement. The thing about the time travel in Season 5 and preventing the earth getting destroyed and thus creating a branch, with Infinity War happening in that new branch, totally makes sense with the Endgame time travel rules. BUT... I really have a hard time watching Season 6 and believing that it's happening during the blip! This is why my personal headcanon has all of seasons 5-7 happening in a different timeline from the main MCU, despite no on-screen statements to suggest it. Enoch sends the agents through the monolith, which sends them into the future of a different universe, and then when they return to the present, they create a branch off of THAT universe. Somehow, Thanos failed to get all of the stones in that universe, so the snap never happened. But that's just my own theory, and I understand that without any actual evidence from the shows to back it up, it can't really go into anyone else's official timeline, so under that basis, I agree with the timeline branching concepts you talked about here.
@AbitofEverything4U Жыл бұрын
Yeah, I have many times wondered if S5-7 are in a different timeline. Those are the hardest seasons to accept as 616 canon. For the purpose of this video and the timeline, I took the assumption that it is all canon to 616, but I'm totally with you that I would honestly prefer things to have split off from 616 at the end of S4. Maybe the timeline book coming out later this year will give us the answers one way or another. But for now, it's just nice to see the timeline all laid out together and then people can decide from there which seasons they feel are canon to 616. Thanks so much for watching the vid and sharing your thoughts. Really appreciate it!

Same actor not character mean different universe within the multiverse concerning _Inhumans._ 36:04-39:07 is why I believe the last two seasons are an alternate universe and Coulsen is dead at the end of S5 and why they didn't need to acknowledge anything about _Infinity War,_ because in this universe Thanos never snapped. This also makes S7 time jumping/traveling in an alternate universe, which, IMHO makes Susa's characters romantic storyline more plausible.

Amazing video, you explained everything perfectly, especially the two instances of time travel and how they are actually compliant with the Endgame rules. I hate when people say that the Agents ended up in another timeline after season 5 when they actually returned to the main one. Anyway, what about the timeline placement for Fitz, Simmons and Enoch between S6 and S7 when they try to figure out time travel? They stay for some years in the "present" to figure time travel out. I've never done the math, but I always figured they at least managed to live through Endgame and that is probably when they learned of the Quantum Realm and its time travel possibilities.

In the video, I decided to stick with the idea that it's all part of the 616 MCU for the sake of illustrating how it would all fit in to the timeline in that case. one suggestion i do have for your ‘winter soldier in january??’ conundrum is that the ‘one year ago’ from aos s2e20 is that the falshback was likely to have been set before the events of the actual season, possibly by a few months. this pushes everything forward, and could make it a possibility that the winter soldier was in febuary or march. so winter soldier (febuary - march) ➡️ the flashback (maybe may-early june 2014) ➡️ start of season 2 (august - september 2014) ➡️ season 2x20 (late may or early june 2015).

I'm not entirely convinced that the Agents created a branch in S5. We haven't seen any time travel going forward in time (unless you count Loki going to "future" years but with the TVA time relativity isn't really a thing and those were apocalyptic events). So, it's hard to say if someone time travels to the future and then returns to their present (which is the past from the future pov), if that would create a branch or not. When the Avengers time traveled in Endgame, they created branches in the past, but they returned to their present. Does that mean they created a branch in their present? Where they continued on their lives post-snap without retrieving the stones? Regardless, I hope we get more explanation for time travel rules/logic and universes/timelines and dimensions. With AoS, Endgame, and Loki seemingly having multiversal time travel, Ms. Marvel having fixed time travel, and...sigh...Runaways seemingly having dynamic time travel, we need some definitive rules/explanation ESPECIALLY as we're getting into much more Kang, who's whole gimmick is time travel.

Is there anything to suggest that Infinity War needs to happen on the branch? The people who could possibly destroy the earth with the Gravitonium were Ruby, Creel, Talbot and Daisy. Daisy wouldn't be on the sacred timeline since she time traveled. It was established Ruby and Creel couldn't handle it. And Talbot only took it to save the team, which could only happen if he was freed, which couldn't happen if the team wasn't on the sacred timeline. The Confederacy were always gonna double cross Hale trying to get Gravitonium and Inhumans before Thanos would arrive. If they couldn't do it before then, then wouldn't they just flee? Maybe I'm missing something but why does Infinity War need to be on the branch?

My apologies if I'm not completely following your question. I didn't mean to say Infinity War was on a branch as it is part of the main MCU. But it does seem that there needs to be a branch in season 5 somewhere. We know that Fitz went into hibernation in the main timeline and woke up in the future where things were destroyed, so that seems to be the main timeline. But then Daisy comes back to the present and alters the timeline. Honestly, it hurts my brain abit every time I think about it and it seems no two fans completely agree on what happened. But there does seem to be a branch somewhere. Not sure if that answers your question, but if you think I have it wrong, I'm very open to changing it. @@AbitofEverything4U Love your vids, especially on fitting outside material into the timeline/canon! @AbitofEverything4U Жыл бұрын
Oh, right, I'm following you now...yeah, I was throwing that idea out as one possible way to make it work. Using endgame branching logic it seemed they would need to create a branch if they changed the past. So things originally wend down with the earth being destroyed by Quake, but then they returned to the present and altered the timeline. So that should be a branch at that point. But I think that the show assumed that they could change the way things went and thus it didn't create a branch. It is definitely a confusing storyline if you think about it too hard. I like the explanation for the time loop in S5 but what we lean in Loki completly destroys that logic, cause we know everything that is suppose to happen was decided by He Who Remains, so if we take that season as canon, that means the Sacred Timeline involves a timeloop wher people from 201x travels to the future to them return and destroy Earth and it also involves the destruction of said loop creating a new continuity, which sounds crazy for the TVA to control. S6, we didn't see much of society but it looked like it didn't matter if it was space or the Earth nobody mentions the snap and Cap Marvel said the problems happen all over the universe or galaxy. S7... cool you love it, but I couldn't, there are a lot of cool debates in the team like "should they kill the evil man to make a better future or not?" That are make pointless by the fact that in the last episodes Fitz appears to confirm the branching rules, so no matter what changes they make their timeline will remain the same. Also the Chromicons were suppose to know at any moment what was suppose to happen in the end but for some reason they felt the need to get to their ship when it's about to time jump when they can't age so they could stay in the past since the beginning to carry their plans but decide not to until dome episodes later. But it has a very nice farewell for our héroes.
@AbitofEverything4U Жыл бұрын
Great commentary as always. I do agree that we learn in Loki that He Who Remains controlled everything that happened, but perhaps that does fit in with S5. You could view it that HWR saw that the earth would be destroyed and thus paved the way for the Chromicons to show the agents of SHIELD the path to prevent it. Being at the end of time (and thus outside of time), HWR is aware of all of time and thus all of the potential branches, so I guess I don't see it as an issue that HWR could set in motion the way to ensure a branch where the earth survives. Granted, I'm not a huge fan of the time travel in S5 (as I mention in the video), but I'm not sure it couldn't all fit into HWR's plans. As for S6, I agree, it's the most troubling. As you likely know from other videos I've made, I think society was a total mess during the time of blip, so it makes it hard to believe that S6 and the end of S7 could occur during the blip. But I do think it's possible it could happen that way, even it's not entirely probable. You are correct that in S7 they have alot of philosophical time travel debates that could be argued to be a bit of a moot point considering they are in a branch. But keep in mind, they could still have changed things in their branch. Had they never returned to their home timeline, then the branched timeline was their new timeline. In a way, we were seeing what it might have been like when Steve Rogers went into the past at the end of Endgame and lived out his life in the new branch. Imagine being aware of the tragedies of history and deciding to prevent them. I think that's what Steve did in his branch. So I don't think the discussions in S7 were a waste or pointless in that regard. Finally, I also loved S7 for the reason you mention. It was a really fun way to end our time with the team we'd spent 7 years with. Anyway, just my thoughts on your excellent feedback. Thanks as always for your insightful analysis!

@@AbitofEverything4U HWR being outside of time is tricky but I have to assume that the shows that Marvel release after Loki happens after Loki, cause for example S1 of Loki wouldn't make much sense except for the end if What If was release before. So I just take the assumption that everything that released after Loki "happens" after it. With that being said the time loop in S5 must happen while the TVA is controling branches for HWR (because Loki came after it), if we take it as part of the Sacred Timeline and the conclusion of S5 too, then for example the ST has 2 versión of year 2030, one where the destruction of Earth happens and one were it didn't, which means the TVA is overseeing at least 2 timelines cause the loop needs to happen for the breaking of it to happen, so anything post destruction of Earth should happen but at the same time anything that happens when they defeat Graviton must happen too, so yeah that would mean the Sacred timeline at least are 2 timelines. It just feels weird but some people suggest the ST should be a lot of universes controlled, but I don't think that helps HWR to prevent Kang's existent
@AbitofEverything4U Жыл бұрын
Yeah, one this is certain, Marvel needs to explain the Sacred Timeline in greater detail. But I do think Waldron strongly implied that the ST is not one timeline, but several interwoven timelines. I have referenced that quote in a few earlier videos. And if that's the case, then if feels like AoS S5 has a greater chance of fitting into things. However, in the end, I'm not a fan of the logic of S5, which I mention in the video. I think it can work, but it's just alot more convoluted than I would have preferred, and that's even prior to Loki's storyline. So I suspect S5 will be debated for years to come. Thus, I just watched it for the enjoyment of it all and then tried to lay out one possible solution. But I have complete respect for anyone that disagrees with what I laid out in the video and also what is on the wiki. Timey wimey stuff is just so dang confusing!

I know a lot of people believe season 6 onwards is a branched timeline because of the snap but even though you COULD say they went back to the past from their POV they went back to the present endgame shows if you go to the past change things than go back to the future nothing will Chang but the difference they stayed in the present to make sure things were fixed
@AbitofEverything4U Жыл бұрын
Yeah, S5's ending will be a point of debate for a long time to come, I suspect. It really comes down to whether you can go to the future, get knowledge, come back to your present and use that knowledge to then change your future. It's a different type of time travel from Endgame and so the rules could in fact be different. I'm kinda hoping that Deadpool 3 casts some light on time travel rules, as DP 2 (as well as DoFP) had some very funky time travel that seemingly broke the Endgame rules. So the DP 3 movie is a great time for Marvel to try to tie everything together once and for all. Hoping they really knock it out of the park and provide some overarching narrative to how time travel works. Thanks so much for watching the vid and sharing your thoughts. Really appreciate it!

I'm gonna try to find some fixes for S.H.I.E.L.D.'s continuity while listening to the video again. Starting off, since Marvel places Iron Man 3 after Thor: The Dark World, I have no problem in assuming that S.H.I.E.L.D. learned about Extremis before Tony Stark did. In fact it seems likely they knew about it before he did. Edit: The Winter Solider and Age of Ultron connections do make things a bit confusing, for sure. But, when I was trying to understand why you were placing S2E1 one year before episode 20, I decided to just watch a reaction video instead of watching the episode. And... I heard Keonig specifically say, "Simmons seems to adjusting well to Hydra." This doesn't really make it seem as if Simmons has been undercover for several months already, but that her undercover mission has recently started. And we know she leaves soon after S1 ends. So, I am placing the "One Year Ago" flashback to maybe a week or two after S1 ends, and Age of Ultron therefore, a year after S1 ends as well, which would move a lot of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 1 ahead to line up better with Winter Soldier's placement. And, considering that the Helicarrier subplot was the last order Fury probably gave to Coulson, then Winter Soldier absolutely HAS to take place in the Spring. However, it's important to note that it would change up a lot of S2's placement, because it would necessarily move much of it to the Spring of 2015, before Age of Ultron in May. So March-April. And it would recontexualize a lot of comments. Talbot's comment about the team evading them for a whole Winter? Well, it just means that, at least during the Winter of 2014-2015, they managed to evade Talbot. But perhaps there's some time between the end of S1 and that winter where they weren't able to completely evade him. That's just speculation to make the new placement work, though. But I think the more important information is how long it's been since Simmons left. So I just want to break down your two statements about the "months". The first, stated by Coulson, is that the plane has been gathering dust for months. It doesn't mean it's been months since season 1, though. And I want to focus on that language in contrast to the next quote. "In the months since, he's grown isolated". This line is referring to Fitz, but I want to point out how they use the words months. In the first quote, they preface the word with "for". In the second, they preface it with, "in the". That is very important. When people use "for" before anything, they usually don't mean it's been a lot of that thing. "For weeks" is a number of weeks, but not under two months time. "For years" is usually under five years, because then people would usually start saying "half a year," "over half a year," or, "almost a year". But people usually don't say, "a month and a half," or, "almost two months," except in very specific circumstances where specificity is required. So, when people say, "for months" they usually means less than half a year, because there are clearer ways of generalizing how long it's been than that. But that's just how long the plane has been gathering dust for. So several months, but less than half a year. Which actually somewhat supports my Winter of 2014-2015 speculation earlier. But, if you were to use "in the" instead of "for" in any of those circumstances, it demands less specificity. For weeks, it could mean anything from 2 weeks, to any amount of weeks under two months, as that's when you would switch to months. For years, it could means ANYTHING under a decade. For decades, anything under a century, generally close to the start or end of another decade. For months, though, it can means anything from two to eleven months. So oddly enough, while "for" is mainly used for very little of something, people will change the language following the word more often for higher specificity in communication. With "in the" it doesn't require that, giving a lot more leeway. All we know, is that it hasn't been a year since Simmons left, because they would have said "In the year" rather than "in the months". It's also a little specific, but the months covers a lot more time than the year does, which is important. So... Simmons starts her undercover mission in Hydra soon after season 1 ends. Around the same time, Coulson and Keonig start working on the Helicarrier, a year before Age of Ultron. At some point while Simmons is undercover, the team goes underground, letting the plane "Bus" collect dust for several months, but less than half a year, which allows them to evade Talbot for an entire winter. But all of this time still amounts to less than a year because Fitz has grown isolated in the months that Simmons left. Edit 2: To be clear, while I think this all works, I'm leaning a bit too hard into how the language is used, which itself isn't even necessarily true, as I'm just interpreting how I myself would use those words. So... I guess I shouldn't say "people". And if you think I'm stretching the truth a bit to make things fit, that's fine. You don't have to agree Edit 3: Also, I don't know where that secret mountain base where we met the first Koenig was, but Talbot encountered the team at that same base in season 1. So if we placed the end of season 1 in winter, and season 2 was only a few months later, than his line about them evading him for an entire winter doesn't really make sense. Edit 4: This one is a minor correction, but Siberia is in the Northern Hemisphere, meaning they experience the seasons at the same time the US does. So March would be Spring. Which means S3E11 can't be in March. Unless it's an unusually long Winter, but... I'm not sure. Of course Siberia generally very cold, but I don't think they'd ever say they have year long winters.

So, in episode five, they translate a coded message saying a deal will occur on April 27 and Thompson replies that’s less than two days from now. So episode five is at the end of April. Then episode six is shown to be on the first anniversary of V-E day, which places it around May 8 of 1946. So it seems there’s a 10 day gap in between episode five and six moving into May.

As much as I like the idea of endgame it’s time travel rules seem to be isolated to the quantum realm, time travel in Ms. Marvel is a closed loop as you said but both agents of shield and runaways (perhaps more I’m forgetting) use time travel in a more back to the future way. So as much as you don’t like that, and I kinda agree it seems to be the case that some time travel in the mcu is back to the future based.
@AbitofEverything4U Жыл бұрын
Yes, it's hard to argue against the fact that the "back to the future" style time travel was prominent prior to Endgame. And then Ms. Marvel even used the closed loop logic after Endgame. Throw in the X-Men/Deadpool movies, which will soon officially be part of the multiverse, and we have even more instances of that type of time travel. Granted, I do think there is a way to explain the X-verse movies time travel as branching, but it isn't a great fit. So, my hope is that whoever is writing Deadpool 3 finds a way to explain things. Perhaps if you use the quantum realm for time travel, it branches, but other forms of time travel don't branch. Or perhaps they will find a way to show that its always branched for all time travel. Will be very interesting to see how they address things in DP 3. Anyway, excellent feedback! Thanks so much for watching the vid and sharing your thoughts. Really appreciate it!

Yeah, I don't disagree. I'd rather that episode be set in Feb or Jan, but it seems to need to be in March due to some of the earlier episode placements. I am of the opinion that perhaps the branch off you speak of with keeping the Earth from being destroyed is where they really get lost in time, and they still may not actually be back by the Series' end. Seasons 5 and 6 were just kind of messy, and I like to think that in this parallel universe, Thanos is in fact invading, just like what we see in Infinity War, but he is defeated by the Avengers, so no snap (Or maybe he doesn't destroy the stones and when the Avengers come to his farm planet, they beat him up and fix everything with only a month long blip instead of five years. You can decide whatever version you want that best fits in your head, we know that some universes have Avengers that can defeat Thanos before accomplishing his goals, so it's not impossible.). Everything is just too happy at the end of the show in 2020 for it to be the same universe we see in Endgame, which is still hurting by 2023. Also SHIELD has been reestablished in the show's Finale, but it has never once come back in the movies or Disney+ shows, we're dealing with SWORD, which doesn't seem to be all too concerned about space but rather robots on Earth, and Damage Control, which also seems to be less about helping clean up messes and more just a SWAT team fighting heroes and villains and imprisoning whoever they can. What I'm proposing is that when everyone comes back to December 2017, they've definitely shifted over slightly, and Fitz doesn't realize that they have because of how similar things are, so when he proposes that all their Season 7 jumps have thrown them into wrong timelines, he himself is also incorrect, but can get them back to the offshoot timeline from December 2017, which is the correct one according to his calculations because he didn't know he shifted the first time. Or maybe he does actually get everyone back to the original timeline from Seasons 1-4 at the end of Season 7, but for me and my personal headcanon, the important thing is that Seasons 5-6 are definitely in a parallel timeline with Season 7 kind of confirming that. Now it's more a matter of whether or not Daisy returns, and in what manner to confirm whether or not that Agents of SHIELD is canon again and that they did make it back to the correct timeline. For it to convince me, I think I'm going to need Daisy to have Susa by her side and they meet Fury in space, I will accept nothing less without some very well worded explanation otherwise. And I'm only partially joking about this because I would love to see Agents of SHIELD folk return some day, but I don't just want same actors, I want same characters. They need to do the same with the Netflix shows. Not just main cast members, I want all the supporting casts, too. All or nothing, make it definitive. Recasts happen, but only when someone really doesn't want to return or they physically can't because they're dead, but I bet 99% of these casts are always down to clown and jump back into Marvel now that they've all had a few years off to do other things.

Excellent feedback! I think you have proposed some very viable ways to make S5-S7 work. I suspect there will be eternal debate on how that time travel worked. I do think Marvel will bring forward some of the most popular characters from AoS, perhaps as early as Daisy appearing in Secret Invasion. I guess we'll have to wait and see if Marvel gives us any type of explanation for how much of the AoS series is still considered canon at that point. You are correct that they really should make it crystal clear how things tie into the show, but I kinda fear that they won't. Either way, I wanted this video to be a guide to how to watch the shows in relation to the MCU movies and then each individual person can decide which parts of the show they feel are still canon. Thanks so much for watching the vid and sharing your thoughts. Really appreciate it!
@lordofninjas1 Жыл бұрын
I'll go along with the avoiding spoilers thing, so without going into much I'll say that I disagree with how you are doing the timeline branches. I agree that branches are created, however I disagree with your placement of where the branches are. I agree that the end of Season 5 causes a branch, but I feel it's the 2091 portion that is part of the branch and not the 2019 portion because of the Deke situation at that point and because of timeline stuff said in Season 7, as well as probably some other stuff I'm forgetting right now. I also agree that there is a branch in Season 7, but I don't agree that it's the entire season that's the branch, rather, again without going into too much, I think the branch occurs at one of two points, either the explosion Coulson causes or during the end of the episode they are leapfrogging through time, again for reasons that are said and seen in Season 7. Besides all that though, IIRC the ending of Season 5 is in Chicago, and I believe we learn Riri is from Chicago in Wakanda Forever (or maybe it was Detroit), so I'm wondering if we get some kind of mention of the events of the Season 5 ending in the Ironheart show. Based on timeline stuff Riri would be about 10 or 11 during the time of the Season 5 ending cause I believe we learn she's 19 in Wakanda Forever. I also agree that we'll hopefully see Daisy in Secret Invasion, and maybe some others in more Sword connected projects. I'm also curious if the "Cap is on the Moon" rumor in the MCU is true if he's hiding out in Attilan.
@AbitofEverything4U Жыл бұрын
Great feedback. Yeah, Season 5's ending will be a point of eternal debate, I suspect, as the show just wasn't clear on how the time travel rules worked. It really comes down to whether you can go to the future, get knowledge, come back to your present and use that knowledge to then change your future. It's a different type of time travel from Endgame and so the rules could in fact be different. But the reason I don't think the branch can occur in 2091 is because we see Fitz directly connecting his present in 2017 (with the world eventually being destroyed) to 2091 due to his going into cryostases. There would be no reason to put him to sleep in Nov/Dec of 2017 if 2091 wasn't the original fate of the world at that point. So it just seems the branch has to be when they return to the present with their new knowledge. As for S7, I guess I just feel that Hulk was really adamant that if you goto the past it becomes your new future. He didn't say it happens only if we make changes or only if the changes are relevant to changing the future. He said the past becomes your new future. From a quantum physics standpoint, that makes sense to me and thus Deke's "splash around abit" comment is cute, but doesn't work as a scientific explanation of what Hulk was saying. Just my opinion on Endgame rules, but that's what it seems Hulk was saying. I admit that I'm kinda hoping that Deadpool 3 casts some light on time travel rules, as DP 2 (as well as DoFP) had some very funky time travel that seemingly broke the Endgame rules. So the DP 3 movie is a great time for Marvel to try to tie everything together once and for all. Hoping they really knock it out of the park and provide some overarching narrative to how time travel works across all the different shows and movies in the greater MCU. Thanks so much for watching the vid and sharing your thoughts. Really appreciate it!

@@AbitofEverything4U that's understandable. I remember Season 5 is described as a time loop that they've been through I think it's like 50 some times or something like that trying to fix it, many times learning something more. Like I'm imagining they are travelling down the sacred timeline then they are diverted to another path for a bit until they destroy that path and then they continue along the sacred timeline. I would say that's why the TVA didn't come after them in the show, aside from not having been introduced at that point, it's because they did the TVA's job for them and fix an error along the sacred timeline. I also think it would be weird to have 2018 be the branch yet have Deke freaking out about being erased from existence because where he's from isn't around anymore. Yeah, I understand Hulk's line a bit differently. I don't take it as him saying a branch is created, I take it as him just describing time travel in general. Basically, taking the definition of past as "something that has already happened", present as "something that is currently happening", and future as "something that will eventually happen" I take it as Hulk saying when you go from what's currently happening to what already happened, the point at which you came from already happened for you and the point at which you went to is what's currently happening for you. Think of it like a zipper on a jacket, you have it zipped all the way up but then you move it a couple inches, that's basically what he's saying, the zipper was in one spot but then it moved from that spot and is now currently in another spot that it was formerly at at one point. He seems to be framing it more from a personal timeline aspect rather than a universal timeline aspect, in other words I think he's speaking from the point of view of an individual when they time travel rather than the point of view of the universe, if that makes any sense, then you can apply Deke's "ripples not waves" thing after that, like Hulk is saying how you get from point a to point b, then Deke is describing what to do when you get to point b. "Ripples not waves" also works with the discussion Hulk has with the Ancient One, a massive change, like removing an Infinity Stone, would cause issues, but them just being there and not really doing much of anything doesn't seem to do anything. I agree, Deadpool 3 may have some information on time travel, and yeah, the X-Men movie timeline is all kinds of wonky. Thank you for spending your time responding despite my walls of text and incessant talking and such, especially responding in a kind manner. You are also appreciated.
@AbitofEverything4U Жыл бұрын
@@lordofninjas1 Thanks for elaborating on how you interpreted Hulk's line. The reason I think he can't be discussing going back in time as living out things that have already happened is that we see so much mass chaos occurring during the time heist. Captain America tells Sitwell "Hail, Hydra" meaning in that timeline they think Cap is Hydra. 2023 Cap fights and defeats 2012 Cap, which means 2012 Cap would know about time travel. Star Lord is knocked out cold by War Machine, meaning that in that timeline in 2014 he might not have even reached the power stone in time as GotG Vol 1 shows that things moved very quickly. Heck, even the car that Hulk smashes at the very beginning of his time in 2012 could have ramifications. So I just don't see how any of things that occurred in the Time Heist could have been part of the 616 timeline. And that's why I think Hulk was describing going into the past as creating a branch. It perfectly solves all of that and means that the insanity of the time heist happened in a branched timeline. But just my take on all of it. I do hope Marvel gives us a more clear understanding of time travel at some point. Great conversation. Even if we don't agree, it's fun to learn what fellow MCU fans are thinking!
@lordofninjas1 Жыл бұрын
@@AbitofEverything4U that's why they have the ending of Cap going back and returning the Stones, so that those paradoxes and such you mention either no longer exist or are prevented from existing. Also, 2012 Cap believes that 2023 Cap is Loki in disguise, and the two Nebulas knowing about each other didn't really seem to cause any issues. I believe at that point they are even asking Hulk how time travel works they are mentioning many different time travel movies, and he essentially tells them "no, time travel doesn't work like how we see in the movies".
@AbitofEverything4U Жыл бұрын
@@lordofninjas1 But I guess that's my point. If they weren't in a branch, then those changes would have taken immediate effect on their future. So Cap wouldn't have been able to go back and later correct the "Hail, Hydra" statement by returning the stones as that event would have always happened in their past and thus changed the future when they returned to 2023 with the stones. It's okay if we disagree. For me, I just don't see any way to make the time heist work unless it is all in a branch. But that's just me.

I guess we'll have to wait and see if Marvel gives us any type of explanation for how much of the AoS series is still considered canon. Either way, I wanted this video to be a guide to how to watch the shows in relation to the MCU movies and then each individual person can decide which parts of the show they feel are still canon. Thanks so much for watching the vid and sharing your thoughts. Really appreciate it!

Ok so the timeline with shield is just a mess once they bring in time travel because in the real world ABC was not getting the information about what all was happening in the movies so that spoilers were not leaked, but the time travel allowed the show to have more fun with it without having to be as connected anymore, like season 7 was so much. I just feel like even though I want Agents of Shield to be fully cannon, there are just a lot of things that make it not cannon with inhumans and season 6 time jump, but in the series finale they explained how they can get to the main MCU, unless they want to retcon some of the things from the show and make only some things cannon, but I think that retconning things from this show would be so stupid because it is literally the first and best Marvel MCU show even if it isn't cannon. I just love Agents of Shield, I did not watch it when it was coming out but due to quarantine happening, I have seen both Agent Carter and Agents of shield three times, I could probably write the equivalent of a college thesis or more just about how much I love agents of shield, and most of that would probably just be about how Simmons in the best character other that Coulson and Daisy, in my opinion.

Great feedback! Yes, I am really bummed for Agents of SHIELD in that I think they could have fit their storylines around the Infinity War and Endgame time jump if the writers had been informed about it. It's a total bummer. So I do fear that at least the last few seasons won't end up staying canon in the end. But I also agree with you that it's some of the best storytelling in the MCU, so I'd rather they leave it as is and say it happened in the multiverse, than try to change it around to keep in canon. And I agree that my favorites were Daisy, Mack and Coulson. I do hope we get to see Daisy again and maybe they bring back Mack and Sousa and some of the others, too. Fantastic show! Thanks so much for watching the vid and sharing your thoughts. Really appreciate it!

What in the space that the blue tall aliens came from for them to start their revolution of destruction? I'm probably guessing deep space of Guardians of the Galaxy timelines that wasn't mentioned or brought up at all. Or these events of AoS occurred during the times the Guardians left their prision or whatever it was called for some important event. Before I forgot to mention the brainwash whispering. Interesting take on that. This is where there's an Easter Egg callback to the way Bucky got triggered with just a few words in Russian to activate the Winter Soldier. Lastly, with the Hales in season 6, they're bringing forward the super soldier arc hence the show The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and of cause the Secret Invasion. You forgot to mention that plot. Agents of Shield is tied to the larger and ever expanding MCU. Like how the agents or Coulson are piecing the pieces of Hydra with that symbol that leads to the Hive. Or the planet that Simmons got time travel stranded , was that planet also in the Loki show with Sylvie and Loki was on? Can we explore all that?
@AbitofEverything4U6 ай бұрын
Those are some very good connections to the larger MCU. I agree, I'd love to have seen more of the plot lines from Agents of SHIELD being explored in depth. It was such a great show and gave us so many incredible stories, including the origins of Hydra and that planet Simmons got stranded on (one of my all time favorite episodes, btw). Maybe one day Marvel will look at some of the concepts from AoS and expand on them even further!

Oh, that's so cool that you watched the other vid already. Really appreciate all your support of the channel! As for the 4 years line, I've often seen that characters round up or down to an even number of years, even if the months don't perfectly align. Even irl, I do that without thinking. So I wonder if that solves the March vs. May issue?

In Agents of Shield a big part of it is not letting the Avengers learn Phil is alive. Phil and his team erase the data of him being alive off of S.H.I.E.L.D/HYDRA before Black Widow leeks it all on to the Internet & They ask Sif not to tell Thor Phil's alive.
@AbitofEverything4U Жыл бұрын
Right...I think they could definitely explain any continuity issues that AoS has with the sacred timeline without much issue. Granted the show drifted further and further away as the seasons went on, but they did try very hard to keep it all fitting into the main MCU timeline, so I suspect Feige has to be giving it some consideration.

@@AbitofEverything4U Nick Fury also just lies & keeps secrets from everyone he knows. Such as lieing about Thor being the first alien he's met. Kept the Skrulls a secret for over 30ish years. They didn't branch. It was exactly the same thing that happened in Endgame, just from the other side. Let's call 2091 year timeline #1 and the MCU timeline #2. In Endgame Avengers borrowed infinity stones from other timelines and gave them back. In AoS Enoch from 2091 is "Avengers" and agents of shield in MCU timeline are "infinity stones". Enoch "borrowed" them (actually Enoch from MCu timeline sent them to the future but rule is the same), agents did what they needed to do and were sent back to the original MCU. So it's still OG MCU. About season 6: it's been a year since Thanos, world had to move on, especially a government agency. Why no lead character disappeard? The same reason no OG avenger disappeared. Just luck. I'm not saying marvel tv knew about what happens in IW and Endgame, I'm just saying that it fits. Still OG MCU. In season 7 they created branches but at the end thay came back to original MCU timeline. It's pretty simple when you think about it. Just some fans overthink about it and create unnecessary and actually harmful theories about alternate timelines and variants.
@AbitofEverything4U Жыл бұрын
Great explanations! Thanks for sharing all of that. The one concern I have with your theory is that if 2091 wasn't the future for the present day MCU, then I don't understand why they needed to do anything at all. It seems 2091 was the future for the Agents, as we see Fitz go from the present day straight to 2091 (after being unfrozen, ofc) and so it seems that the future destruction in 2091 was their future unless they went back and prevented it. But I do really like your theories. I agree with you that the simplest solution is always the best. Thanks so much for watching the vid and sharing your ideas. I really appreciate it!
@TheKonradhehe Жыл бұрын
I believe that number of timelines is infinite. 2091 timeline is just very similar to 616, maybe it's 617 or something like that. In 2091 timeline Fitz was frozen and got to the future. However 616 is almost identical, agents saw what might happen (there were actually 2 resons they were sent to the future 1 to see what happens if they don't defeat graviton 2 to make sure Flint survives and learns how to rebuild Earth), defeated graviton and found THEIR Fitz in space. Fitz in 2091 is Fitz from earth "617" and they just bring him to 616.
@AbitofEverything4U Жыл бұрын
@@TheKonradhehe Yeah, I do like your suggestion as a possible solution. In fact, I like it alot better than branching. I just wonder what the writers intended. It sure seems to me that the simplest answer is that the writers were unaware of the branching logic in Endgame and felt that you could re-write time (just like in the X-men movies and in the final season of Runaways) and so the 2091 future was the future that would have happened if Daisy hadn't gone back and changed the course of history. I guess the real key is that I feel that S5 was alot of fun and very enjoyable, but I just wish they had been more clear on the time travel rules. They left alot open to interpretation and that's why it's still debated all these years later. Anyway, really appreciate all your great feedback. Thanks so much for taking the time to share your theories!

I jus wanna say , Marvel puts Iron man 3 after Thor TDW because the Mandarin Attacks all happen throughout the year, Thor The Dark World happens sometime in between then the Main Events of Iron Man 3 Happen near Christmas, then later on in early 2014, we see Tony telling the story of events to Bruce, who isn't listening, so there for, the first episodes of agents of Shield season 1 could still be watched without having watched iron man 3 first, atleast up until the Thor Tie In, Then Iron Man 3 basically takes care of the Extremis Problem, but there are still people who experimented with it, which Shield takes care of, there we go, fixed timeline, everything fits together
