Fun fact - there was an effort to try and put the TASM Oscorp tower into the Avengers NYC skyline but the rendering of the CGI had completed before all the red tape could be sorted between Sony and Marvel Studios. Mad props to your thoughts on Deadpool and She-Hulk. Couldn't agree more about the double standard. Great video as always. In regards to the Jean Grey being alive. I think it's safe to assume she just came back to life somehow in an adventure off screen. I'm pretty sure that was the plan if they kept making X-Men films. Yes that does mean any of those plans are non canon but honestly it's the only way it makes sense. Who knows, maybe she'll show up in Secret Wars and mention that she died and came back.

Theres a reason why when she hulk does it, it doesn’t work, and its a very simple answer. When deadpool does it, he is self aware to the point where if a joke is messing with the cannon, he will call it out. Like the “well thats just lazy writing joke”. It comes off as funny and it flows well thematically with the character and the tone of the movie, rather than just skipping your entire climax right when we were ab to see hulk fight for the first time since thor ragnarok 😭, calling your own shit writing shit, and then reversing it for a shit unfunny joke with no payoff. (Essentially what I’m saying is deadpools jokes don’t compromise the story, and when writing is purposely bad and lazy for a joke, it leads to an emotional story driven pay off rather than just calling your writing shit, and then skipping over the entire climax of the story).
@NuggetGX
@NuggetGX Жыл бұрын
Like, imagine a version of deadpool 2 where right when dp makes the lazy writing joke, they skip out the entire final fight scene of the movie and cut to the emotional pay off scene with dp and vanessa. The payoff didn’t work because the writer didn’t build up to it. And everyone giving she hulk a pass due to some non existent “double standard” just don’t understand storytelling and meta writing.

Great video, and very helpful! Imbedding the Spidey Movies in the timeline order I totally agree with. However, I would argue that watching Loki first in Phase 4 before WandaVision is the best route. Then, watch all of the Fox X-Men movies right after Loki. Why? Because we get different subtle appearances of the X-Men thoughout Phase 4, such as Quicksilver in WandaVision and Professor X in MoM. Even though these are both variants or illusions, I think their cameos would still be interesting and more meaningful for new viewers if they have already watched the X-Men movies.

Another great video! Some thoughts I had, for the Spider-Man timeline you forgot to include Into the Spider-verse. It is animated and isn't required viewing but it might be something that may become more important to the Sony spider-verse as it goes on. The sequel would go after I'm sure but that brings more multiverse tangents (unlimited spider-man, Japanese Spider-Man are confirmed and the 90's spider-man cartoon is related to unlimited spider-man.) The Raimi trilogy also has it's own tangents with tie-in comics and video games and the new animated series which spins off of the first movie. There's a video by innovativejdawg with the entire Raimi timeline. Some upcoming movies that deal with the spider-verse would be the Spider-woman film, Kraven, Venom 3, and I hear they were making a Silk tv series. But I think what will be more important to the timeline is Spider-Man freshman year which will give us a general origin story for Peter in the MCU but instead of meeting Tony he meets Norman as his mentor. The X-Men timelines are further confused with Multiverse of Madness featuring a variant Xavier who doesn't quite fit in the Fox universe or the MCU. There's also the gifted and Legion that don't seem to fit into any timeline. But my head canon is that the XMCU ties into what is happening in the comic books house of X/powers of X and the character Moira Mctaggert. But I'll leave that spoiler free here. But it does give an explanation to the end credit scene in X3 (sorta). There are still a lot of marvel movies that could be watched that may eventually enter the MCU, particularly the Fantastic four films since we have our own multiverse variant Reed Richards and their stories often deal with dimension hopping. I really wanted them to use Ioan Gruffudd as the MoM Reed because he was the active Reed during the first X-men films and it would have incorporated those films too. Hopefully one day we could see all 3 and more in a Council of Reeds, and I would love to see Miles Teller as the Maker. I also want to shout out Oscar Isaac for being in the MCU (Moon Knight), X-Men films (Apocalypse), and in Spider-verse (Spider-man 2099)! I guess all I would say is the more marvel content consumed the better =)
@WesleyGuerrero
@WesleyGuerrero Жыл бұрын
Ooh, and about that Morbius end credit scene. I'm hoping Sony will make it make sense by retro actively tying it to another force and not Doctor Strange's spell, it just doesn't make any sense. But since they have such a hard on for the Sinister Six, maybe they will be brought together by Madame Web or a real Multiversal Mysterio. Maybe they have to take out an Andrew Garfield Spider-Carnage! But that just a theory!

When no way home came out I watched all the Spider-Man movies that came before in an unconventional order because Andrew never got his third movie, the order is as follows: Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2, amazing Spider-Man, civil war, homecoming, infinity war and endgame, Spider-Man 3, the amazing Spider-Man 2, far from home, then no way home to wrap up the multiverse Spider-Man narrative. I put Tobey and Andrew’s last films just before far from home to get a better narrative sense of where they’re at closer to when we meet back up with them in NWH. I recently watch ang lee’s hulk and was curious as to which universe it’s apart of; if it was in the raimi-verse or fox universe, or if they’re the same universe? also when I watched x-men, Charles said it’s been almost 15 years since he got his amnesia, if origins took place in 79, then the first x-men should take place in 1994 instead of 2003, that’s confusing.
@AbitofEverything4U
@AbitofEverything4U Жыл бұрын
Great comments. I really like your watch order for the Spidey movies. I think as long as at least a few of the Sony Spider-man movies get watched before Homecoming, then it's perfect and I really like the last few movies being right before No Way Home. As for Ang Lee's Hulk, there are a few easter eggs in the Incredible Hulk movie intro that tie back to that first Hulk movie. If you watch the opening of the movie, it seems to imply that at least some of the events in the Ang Lee movie happen prior to the Incredible Hulk movie. But I still consider it as part of the multiverse and not part of the main MCU. And as for X-men Origins: wolverine being the wrong number of years prior to the X-men trilogy, you nailed one of the many continuity issues in the movies. I didn't touch on all of them, but that is a big one for sure. It's just so bizarre that Fox was unable to keep their continuity in better shape. Another big example is in First Class, Prof X injury that paralyzes him occurs at an inconsistent time with the overall timeline. And there are so many more issues. Sigh. Anyway, thanks so much for watching the vid and sharing your thoughts. I really appreciate it!

I always assumed there was multiple ways to time travel/manipulate time depending on how it's done. The Quantum Realm is one way. Cable's temporal dial is another. Kitty Pryde's abilities, the bangle, the time stone, and while on the AoS topic, the Chronicoms had their own time travel and there was also the Time Di'Alla. I don't know why but having multiple ways of time travel, altering timelines, and even jumping across timelines always made sense to me.

Great points! Yes, there seem to be a ton of ways to time travel in the multiverse. The only reason I personally prefer a branch being created is that when you can re-write your own timeline (ala Back to the Future) it basically means someone can keep re-writing time as long as they start from a point further in the future. It just creates a mess after awhile so that you can't figure out what's going on. So I will be really interested to see how DeadPool 3 handles Cable's temporal time dial. My ideas of how to watch: Watch Loki (introduces multiverse, time travel along with Endgame and ends with timelines splitting which can led to a new watcher wanting to know what happens could be happening in the bigger multiverse), then watch What If...? (episodes take place in different periods and universes, can explain how many time manages to happen between other things) and then watch the Sony/Fox films and imagine them with the escense of What If...? (diferent time periods and all of it isn't neccesarilly conected). With Let There Be Carnage and Morbius I would have two options which would be: Watch LTBC right after Far From Home and before No Way Home, Morbius right after NWH (the multiverse has already been explained and makes sense) or watch them along the other multiversal stuff after Loki and just wait for the post credit scenes

It's super well know how disastrous the Fox movie timeline is with it's contradictions. But I realized that the movie that did it the earliest was First Class, with Charles being paralyzed already and Erik already a villain by the end of the 60's. So in Days of Future Past, Charles and Erik mentioned vaguely thier states of being, but didn't mention how Erik was a villain or Charles was already in the wheelchair. So what if, First Class already took place in a branch, and those events led to similar consequences in the 70's, but how it happened and what later happens is separate from the rest of the timeline. And since Logan never originally participated with them until 2000, thought that was how it happened. Also for those movies I would chronological watch them beginning with Origins Wolverine, to The Wolverine, and then watch First Class, DoFP, Apocalypse, Dark Phoenix, the both Deadpool's

Great point about the First Class continuity issue. I am always baffled by how badly they messed up the continuity of that shared universe. The MCU has 41 entries now and it's chronology isn't without a few issues here and there, but it is light years better then the X-verse which has only about 1/3 of the amount of entries in it. Just crazy. I think your idea about First Class being in a branch might address things. Just makes my head hurt thinking about all of it. Sigh. At least there were some great movies in the series, so there's that. Thx so much for watching and sharing your theories. Really appreciate it!

Another disadvantage for Option 3 is that it kind of spoils some of the surprise appearances by priming the watcher to expect the characters they just watched to reappear. Where as if you watch the movies earlier on, their reappearance is much more of a pleasant surprise. That said, I think you make a great point watching the other Spider-Man movies early to establish an origin for the hero that the MCU skips over. That's an excellent observation. For me the only issue is deciding where to watch the Amazing Spider-Man movies because sticking them in around Avengers/Winter Soldier breaks up the flow of the MCU as well. Though I suppose if you watch Tobey and then Andrew back-to-back before the rest of the MCU that would better establish the fact that they take place in their own universes. I'm kind of hoping that references to the old X-Men movies will be kept to such a minimum that you don't have to include them in an MCU watch order. Obviously Deadpool 3 will require Deadpool and Deadpool 2, and Deadpool 2 kind of requires X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Logan, and either Apocalypse or Dark Phoenix (if you want to understand and recognize the characters in the X-Mansion in that one scene where the X-Men appear), but needing to watch 5 movies for Deadpool 3 instead of 13 would be really nice. Of course if you want to be able to understand EVERY cameo you also arguably have to throw in one of the original X-Men movies to get Patrick Stewart's Xavier (though he does technically appear in Origins, but you get so little of him that you might argue it's not enough on its own, and Deadpool's own references to Stewart Xavier will probably be funnier if you've watched at least the original X-Men movie first). And there's no telling what all you'll need to watch to understand all the cameos that are sure to appear in Secret Wars. Speaking of, that might be an interesting topic for a future video: which pre-MCU movies should you prioritize watching/are likely to be referenced in upcoming MCU movies? You've got the Blade trilogy, the X-Men and Spider-Man movies, Howard the Duck, the Daredevil/Elektra duology, the 2-4 Fantastic Four movies (depending on which ones you count), the Punisher duology, the Ghost Rider duology, the Hulk movie, the Lou Ferrigno Hulk TV movies... But of course that would be a difficult video if you haven't already watched most of these yourself. Of these I've only seen the Spider-Man movies, X-Men movies (minus New Mutants), and the first of the 2000s Fantastic Four duology, but I'm seriously considering going back and watching the others I haven't yet seen to make sure I can understand any cameos or references that pop up in future movies. (I probably won't bother with the Lou Ferrigno stuff though considering his movies are more or less wrapping up his TV show which ran for years.) Side note: I don't remember if I mentioned this to you, but hoping it might lead you to some of the same peace it did me, but my head-canon for the Morbius post-credits scene is that what we're seeing is the Adrian of Morbius's universe pulled into the MCU due to the events of No Way Home. He either commits a crime or is confused for the MCU's Vulture and so is imprisoned during the events of NWH so, just like Eddie Brock, Peter and Strange never realize he's in their universe. Then the spell is reversed and Adrian returns to his home Morbius universe. This explains his non-chalant "I hope the food is better in this joint". He thinks he's just jumped universes yet again and doesn't know which one he has ended up in this time. The people of his universe discover him in the jail cell, realize he's not supposed to be in there, release him, and he becomes famous overnight as the man who mysteriously appeared in a jail cell. He uses this opportunity and pulls a Mysterio, pretending he's from another universe in order to gain clout and notoriety (and an audience with Morbius) even though he's back in his home universe. Obviously no indication if this is what Marvel is thinking, but it helps ease my ire at that scene, lol.

Excellent comments. Yeah, I do like your idea of just watching all the Spiderman Sony films early on in the MCU. No reason not to watch Tobey's and then Andrew's turn at spidey back to back and get it over with early. I'm not sure where to recommend the venmn/morbius movies, due to the end credits. From a purist standpoint, I guess watch Venom whenever, but Venom: LTBC should be right before NWH and Morbius right after NWH. But I'm also a fan of skipping end credit scenes and watching them later, which gives more freedom on when to watch the actual movies themselves. As for Morbius' end credit scenes, your idea is fascinating. It also addresses another very annoying set of issues with the second scene in that it explains where Vulture got his suit (he had already built it in the Morbius universe) and why he knows about Morbius in the first place. Although, it creates a new issue because if he jumped from the Morbius universe to 616 and then back again, I'm not sure why they let him out of prison in the Morbius universe. They would have known who he was and would have kept him there, it seems? I do like the idea of a master list of pre-MCU movies to watch. I fear we may have to wait until Secret Wars to know for sure, since we don't know who will show up. I've actually watched everything you mentioned other than Howard the Duck (I've avoided it like the plague) and the Hulk TV movies. I did watch the Hulk TV show, but didn't watch the movies. Will be interesting to see which ones become important based on cameos in Secret Wars. And I do suspect that several X-men movies can be skipped. However, I did forget to mention that watching one of the X-verse movies with Quicksilver (DoFP is the best of course) would be helpful to understanding the plot twist in WandaVision. Great comments as always. I love reading them each time!

@@AbitofEverything4U I'm of the belief that Adrian wasn't infamous in the Morbius universe before being pulled over into the 616-verse. The post credits scene doesn't say that Adrian never existed in this universe before; it just says that "a man identifying himself as Adrian Toomes simply appeared in an otherwise empty cell". It could be that the police did find documentation that he existed, and that just didn't make it into the news story. So perhaps he had made the Vulture armor for himself in a pre-Homecoming style scenario and was pulled to 616 before ever actually utilizing the armor or getting arrested. He had no rap sheet, was never booked, and therefore they had no reason to keep him in prison. Also great call about making sure to keep DoFP or Apocalypse to hammer home the Quicksilver twist!

@@AbitofEverything4U Thank you! Oh, I also forgot to mention that, though I've never watched the movies in this order before, for my next rewatch I'm seriously considering doing Spider-Man, The Amazing Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Spider-Man 3, Venom. While interlacing the Spider-Man movies may seem nonsensical, I like the idea of this for two reasons. 1) It really drives home for new viewers that these Spider-Men exist in different universes. There's virtually no way someone will get confused and think that Tobey's Spider-Man retired and Andrew picked up the mantle or that Tobey was recast as Andrew somehow. 2) It lets you draw some interesting back-to-back parallels, for example seeing how Spider-Man 3 treats Venom vs how Venom treats Venom, the different Spider-Man origins, the Harry Goblin of ASM2 to the Harry Goblin of SM3. This may be a terrible idea in practice, but I want to see if the symmetry and parallels work as well in viewing as they do in my head, haha. Also totally agree with you on watching Venom 2 right before No Way Home unless you split up movie and post-credits. But I like the idea of sticking the whole movie there to build up some tension between FFH and NWH by having more than just a quick scene take place between them.

You know how the 2nd X-Men timeline (+First Class) jumps forward a decade with each movie? I just placed some of those movies between the WandaVision episodes which do the same; in "chronological" order. It works really well as a refresher for those movies. Additionally, in that order, the last time we see Quicksilver is in Dark Pheonix, in the 90s, when he gets shot by debris in the street and takes a back-seat for the rest of the movie. After that, there's the Malcolm in the Middle WandaVision episode of the late 90s/Early 2000s where we see "fake" Pietro. What does he say he remembers happening last? He says the last thing he remembers is being shot in the street like a chump. The cool thing is that this can apply to Age of Ultron OR Dark Pheonix. Then, after the WandaVision finale (which I watch back-to-back with the Loki Season 1 finale), I watch Days of Future Past, Deadpool 1, New Mutants, Logan, and Deadpool 2 as the to emphasize the Multiverse. I really think this is the best way to organically rewatch most of those FoX-Men movies *within* an MCU watch-through. You even get the Wanda easter egg in DoFP, when they briefly show Quicksilver's home life.

18:58 It goes back to my point with Wolverine. So Cable would be the constant in the time travel since he traveled through time. Things changed for him which includes his belongings. When he returned things were different & it has to do with his method of time travel that allows him to be a constant. This works in Back to the Future as well. Everything is from Marty’s perspective, everyone else is living in the reality of Marty’s perception. So when Doc goes back in time, yes things change for him, but Doc never relived the same experiences twice also theres now two Doc’s in the timeline as a result of time travel. Marty the same when travels back to 55 a second time, there 2 Marty’s & to his future. HOWEVER, when he travels to 85. Whether its Biffs timeline or his changed timeline or the old one, there was never 2 Marty’s coexisting. So my theory for years has been Back to the Future also functioned on branched timelines

I guess my issue with considering Cable's time travel to be the same as Endgames is that we didn't see things happening to the Time Heist heroes as a result of their changes. For instance, Steve saying "Hail Hydra" would have had immediate ramifications on his future and we would have seen the impact for Steve realtime in the past if it was the same logic as Cable's time travel. So Endgame avoided the butterfly affect with branching but Cable doesn't seem to be in a branch as his changes impact him realtime.

I didn't even think about how messed up the X-Men's time travel shenanigans mess with a pure timeline order viewing. I feel like there's two options I would choose to watch these. First would be watching the Raimiverse and Webbverse movies in timeline order like you suggested, but put Venom 1, 2, and Morbius around Far From Home and No Way Home, going from Venom, FFH, Venom 2, NWH, and Morb to break things up. Then I'd pick option two for the X-Men, binging them after Loki, mostly because knowing about Fox's Quicksilver makes WandaVision more "interesting" if you recognize him. The other option could be to watch movies in "batches" at different points in the MCU. So Raimiverse and OG X-Men plus Origins and Maybe Wolverine before Iron Man. Webbverse around their timeline spot or between Phase 1 and 2. First Class, DOFP, Apoc, and Dark Phoenix between Phase 2 and 3, and DP1 + 2, New Mutants, and Logan between Phase 3 and 4. Then Venomverse at the same spot as before. As for the MCU TV shows, I'd say they're best in Timeline order. I've made my own list where I break up some of the shows episodes into batches when they overlap instead of watching one show at a time. I haven't watched it this way yet tho lol. I'm planning on rewatching the entire MCU (and maybe some multiverse stuff) before Kang Dynasty or Secret Wars. If you were to watch them without breaking them up, Geekritique's last major timeline has them in the best viewing order, but Agents of Shield should still be broken up a bit because it overlaps with some of the movies. I'd love to see you tackle their timeline in the future, good luck though, I'm sure it will be a long video to make.

@@draftspartan1182 Release order can work in an MCU rewatch. Like if you watch Captain America: The First Avenger between Thor and The Avengers and Captain Marvel between Ant-Man and the Wasp and Avengers: Endgame. Honestly, release order would be easier than chronological order because the MCU's timeline is getting harder to figure out with some celebrations not making sense, and there's time travel to deal with. Loki exists out of time, and the titular character came from 2012 and time travels to Pompeii and the future, and Agents of SHIELD Season Five and Seven have the cast time-travelling, so going in true chronological order would not work so well. Watching movies in chronological order works best for Star Wars because not only are they numbered, they lack time-travel and alternate realities despite being a sci-fi series. Watching the MCU in release order is almost chronological anyway if you can treat the prequel movies Captain America: The First Avenger, Captain Marvel and Black Widow as flashbacks. The X-Men films work better in release order because the time travel changing events make a chronological order hard, especially if you want to binge watch every kind of Marvel movie. Most people saw the movies in release order anyway.

@@SeanWheeler100 Well for my original comment, I essentially meant watching them in mostly release order just not maybe where they were release within the MCU. So watching them all after Loki or watching them in groups at different points within the MCU but not individually. It would work for sure I just wouldn't do it on a rewatch personally. Watching in chronological order doesn't really interfere with release order that much imo. I think it works better for some films, like Black Widow and Far From Home and the TV shows get sprinkled in between the movies. It's actually really interesting how many TV shows fill the gaps between some of the movies.

That's why I might recommend holding off on those until later in the MCU watch order. But I still see alot of benefit in what you suggest. Thx so much for watching the vid and sharing your feedback. Also, I don't think it's out of the question for each universe to work on a different timescale. After all, Into The Spider-Verse features both Noir and Peni Parker - The former hailing from a universe where it's still the 30's, the other coming from an alternate future, much like Miguel in Across the Spider-Verse. Like you pointed out, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness seems to indicate that this can be the case. Miles might currently live in the year 2020 while the MCU is in 2024, and Earth-838 is in 2021, all while simultaneously Miguel lives in the year 2099, Toby's Spidey aged up to 43 in 2027 in his timeline, and Noir's timeline is still progressing through The Great Depression. They're different universes with their own Big Bangs that may have gone off within the Multiverse at different points outside of time.

I agree 100% In fact, in later videos I adopt that idea that each universe has its own big bang and one of the things that means is that each universe can have a different reality stone (meaning some realities are cube, some are paint, some are animated, some are live action, etc) and it also means they can have a different time stone (giving us different flows of time for each universe). Excellent feedback. You nailed it!

I love the suggestions! I’m tempted to reconsider how I put the Spider-Man films in my own MCU order now. Currently, I watch in this order: MCU Phases 1-3 Loki Season 1 Original X-Men trilogy and 00’s Fantastic Four movies, alternating between the two. What If season 1 Rami Spider-Man trilogy and “Wolverine” trilogy (aka Origins, The Wolverine, and Logan), alternating between the two. WandaVision season 1 X-Men prequel trilogy (so, First class, Days of Future Past, Apocalypse, ignoring Dark Phoenix) and Amazing Spider-Man duology, alternating between the two. Eternals Falcon/Winter Season 1 Shang Chi Deadpool 1&2 Venom Thor Love and Thunder Moon Knight Season 1 Spider-Man Far from Home Venom Let there be Carnage Spider-Man No Way Home Morbius (excluding that awful post credit scene, of course, so I might move it up with Venom 1. Idk) Werewolf By Night Dr Strange Multiverse Madness Hawkeye season 1 Guardians Galaxy Holiday special She Hulk season 1 Ms Marvel season 1 Wakanda Forever (not sure about this one’s placement.)

I definitely agree with you that all these timelines existed and were NOT created with the death of He Who Remains. It simply makes more sense from an outside viewer. Also, as a fan (speaking about real life here), it feels odd thinking that these universes (specifically X-Men and Tobey Spider-Man, which were here even before the MCU existed in our reality), somehow depended on Loki to exist. I still stand for the fact that Jean didn't die in Dark Phoenix but instead something happened similar to X2 where we thought she was dead but was instead simply "reborn" and that explains her appearance at the ending of DoFP. I feel like there's no point trying to "fix" the X-Men butterfly effect time travel. I'm genuinely curious how MCU will explain multiple time travel devices with conflicting mechanics when Deadpool 3 eventually comes out. Also, wanted to point out that even though technically the X-Men movies will be canon once Deadpool 3 comes out, there have been references to it (Patrick Stewart in MoM), and therefore, with your suggestion of binging before that universe comes to the MCU, I feel like the X-Men movies would be best enjoyed before MoM as you'd learn of the significance of Stewart playing Professor X. Personally, I'd watch them one universe at a time, starting with X-Men or Tobey Spider-Man, then the other one, then Andrew, and then the MCU. For Venom, both movies maybe right before NWH and Morbius right after NWH (disregarding that awful post credits, of course). Either way, I feel like Secret Wars will add a BUNCH of other universes to that list. There's a lot to pull from: Both Fantastic Fours, Blade, Ghost Rider, like 3 different Punishers, Howard the Duck, Ben Affleck Daredevil, Eric Bana Hulk, Spider-Verse, all the animated stuff, and I'm excited to see what they do with the huge potential of Secret Wars. Finally, hope you and your son enjoy watching the X-Men movies. Even though they can be a bit of a mess sometimes, I love them and am curious on which order you'll be watching them. Personally, I like release order (with Dark Phoenix after Apocalypse and with both Deadpool movies last as to not spoil Logan), since the Days of Future past problem isn't as prominent as it'd be in timeline order. Anyways, great video as always.

Excellent points as always. I really like your reasoning for the Fox and Sony universes not relying on Loki to be created. So well said! I do like the idea of Jean Grey ultimately not dying in Dark Phoenix. Perhaps if they had gotten one more movie under their belt it would have worked out with that happening. At least it is a plausible explanation for her still being alive afterwards. And you raise a great point about watching the X-verse before MoM. I totally agree. In fact, using that logic, it might make sense to watch the X-verse prior to WandaVision so the Evan Peters plotline is more interesting. I'll let you know how it goes when we watch the X-verse. I think I mentioned in another comments thread that I don't believe the events of Loki created the multiverse so much as it exposed "The Sacred Timeline" to it. That said, when it comes to setting the other Spider-Man movies on the timeline, I do think narrative flow and function are important so that anyone can approach the timeline at any point in their viewing experience and still have fun with it. Typically, I've tried to stay away from placing them on the timeline, rather making them optional viewing, but Across the Spider-Verse has kind'a created a fun game of multiversal cause and effect that's got me more interested in including out-of-continuity material. That said, I lean more towards your "Option 2", but with some variance: Watch Loki: Seasons 1 & 2 after The Avengers: Endgame to establish the multiverse within the fabric of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's storytelling, followed by What If...?: Season 1 to double-down on the concept and show how it works, THEN move onto the Raimi and Webbverse films before returning to the MCU. I don't believe they're branches, mind you... I believe they exist within their own separate universes entirely; But, watching them here works with this big contextual shift in the narrative flow. Then, I'd move through everything up to the events of Spider-Man: Far From Home before getting to the rest of Sony's multiversal offerings; Now, I think these can be viewed before, in-between, or after both Spider-Man: Far From Home & No Way Home. For the sake of narrative flow and letting those two films run uninterrupted back-to-back, I'd prefer either before - Where, narratively, they sort'a belong - or after - Where we can stick with the multiverse theme between Spider-Man: No Way Home and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. But, essentially, you'd watch Venom, Morbius, then Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse, and then Venom: Let There Be Carnage. Then, either way, I'd watch Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (And, obviously, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse when that comes out) before jumping into Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and then following the MCU from there... In terms of the X-Men, I'm withholding that stuff until we have a definitive answer on what's going on, which is to say until Deadpool 3 comes out...

I love all the ideas in your comment and agree 100%. When I made this video, I was thinking that the Spider-Man movies were branches off 616 that were created when the multiverse exploded into existence as a result of Loki S1's ending. But now I'm absolutely in your camp of believing the Spider-Man universes are part of the multiverse that has always been out there. Loki S2 changed the game completely. So I think everything you said above makes perfect sense!

The way I think of the alternate future in DoFP is that after Wolverine's time heist, he wakes up in the new future and is the new Wolverine. So Wolverine's history now is that he played a part in the original timeline and then traveled back in time only to be put in weapon x again and then eventually joins the X-Men but then forgets his entire past from the new timeline when his past self takes over his mind. The Jean Grey stuff is tricky. She didn't really die, she just became the phoenix so Scott or someone must have found a way to bring her back to her original form. What are your thoughts on this?

I had never seen any of the X-Men movies before WandaVision. Then episode 5 dropped and when Evan Peters showed up, I just kinda chuckled and was like “Okay, so she’s just pretending this random guy is her brother.” Then I went online and found out why the fandom was freaking out. So in the week between Ep 5 and Ep, my wife and I binged like half of the X-Men films. Basically the original trilogy and the New Class quadrilogy. Just so we knew everything about Quicksilver. Unlike most fans, I’m not upset about the Ralph Bohner bait-and-switch; I understand why it was in there narratively and have to commend the writers for making that decision. But I do look back and laugh at the fact that we desperately absorbed as much of fhe X-Men films as possible before Ep 6 pretty much for nothing 😅 (Although seeing DoFP before seeing Multiverse of Madness was nice because I caught the reference.)

The X-Men movie wiki posits that Jean Grey didn’t actually die, which was implied in Dark Phoenix (which I didn’t bother rewatching because it sucks), so there’s a way “New 2023” could be canon in tandem with Dark Phoenix. Also, I disagree regarding pre-Loki multiverse interpretation. I thought the farther a branch was, the more different it was from the Sacred Timeline. If that’s true, there’s no way Tobey and Andrew’s Universe, the X-Men universe, or the Morbverse could be in that “rope”. They’re just way to distant to NOT create a timeline that might make another Kang.
@AbitofEverything4U
@AbitofEverything4U Жыл бұрын
Yeah, the X-verse timeline is just a hot mess. It's hard to make it even semi-coherent. As for the multiverse, I don't know that it matters how far off from the sacred timeline things diverge. It's more about whether a timeline would create a Kang...at least that's what I thought Michael Waldron was saying. So a universe can be very divergent from the main MCU, but it just can't create a Kang. But I could be wrong. Maybe we get the answer more clearly in Loki S2. Would be great, if so. As for your last question, about the Marvel TV shows: As far as I'm concerned, they're canon and have their placements in the timeline. Of course, Agent Carter's two seasons take place in 1946 and 1947, respectively, after Captain America: The First Avenger and before Captain Marvel; Season 1 of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. occurs from September 2013 to January 2014, intersecting with the events of Thor: The Dark World and Captain America: The Winter Soldier; Season 1 of Daredevil picks up two consecutive years after The Avengers, beginning in July 2014 and ending sometime in October of that year, followed by Jessica Jones' first season in February of 2015, and then Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s second season which begins in April and ends in June, overlapping with The Avengers: Age of Ultron. Daredevil: Season 2 catches up with Matt Murdock in the last days of July and into August of 2015 before jumping forward to November as the jury screenings take place for Frank Castle's court case, allowing the events of Ant-Man to transpire in the meantime; But before the finale of Daredevil's second season finishes out on Christmas of 2015, Luke Cage's first season kicks off in early-December. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. comes back for a third season to kick off 2016 but before it can finish leading up to Captain America: Civil War, Iron Fist's first season drops in, beginning on the day of the Chinese New Year in February. Iron Fist's first few episodes kind'a break up over the course of a few months, playing in the background as Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. catches up to Captain America: Civil War and Black Widow in April of 2016. Iron Fist pretty much becomes more consistent after he gets his stake back in Rand Industries and the show takes us into July of 2016. As maligned as it is, The Inhumans does have its place in August 2016, at the very latest, as the Terrigen contamination from the end of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s second season is referenced and has not seemingly run its course yet, which will supposedly finally occur in December of 2016. We then jump forward to late-October, into November with the events of The Defenders, with starts to cross-pollenate with The Punisher's first season just before Karen's put into witness protection. The Punisher takes the ball and runs with it through the month of November. Before you know it, we're in February of 2017 with Cloak & Dagger: Season 1 and back with the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. for their fourth season that following April before they're plucked from time in June. Then Jessica Jones' second season, Luke Cage's second season, and Iron Fist's second season all occur back-to-back covering the entire summer and taking us into the fall of 2017, with the first show beginning in June, the second one in July and into September, and Iron Fist moving us into October just in time for us to catch up with Cloak & Dagger again in their second season, and finally reconnect with Matt in Daredevil's third season, which brings us to November. The Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. return from their adventures in an alternate future in season 5, just in time for a little reference to Thor & Loki being in New York during Thor: Ragnarok to be made. After the 100th episode, though, the show sees a few breaks for other things to be placed on the timeline... Still in November, The Punisher's second season begins and finally brings us to December for us to meet The Runaways. Over the course of seasons 1, 2, and the first half of 3 of their show, we move from December of 2017 to February before the group gets lost in the Dark Dimension for six months. All the while, Jessica Jones' second season happens in March before Ant-Man & The Wasp and The Avengers: Infinity War - With the last eight episodes of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s fifth season cut in-between - take the universe by storm. The rest of The Runaways' third season then picks back up the following August. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s sixth season picks up a year later, followed closely behind by the events of season 7, which mostly takes place outside of time in multiple branched timelines before finally returning to The Sacred Timeline for the finale and jumping forward another year to say goodbye to the team. Helstrom kind'a just falls into 2020 somewhere before we move onto The Avengers: Endgame three years later.

Great video again! I think your options you chose probably make the most sense. And that’s a great point about the fact that it’s implied that you know Tom’s Peter’s origin, so the OG and TASM movies help do that for complete newcomers. I also think that another way people could do it is watch all 3 franchises all at once. Which might seem odd, but this way you would start with Captain America 1, Spider-Man 1, and X-Men First Class, but it doesn’t matter which you watch first or anything because all that matter is that you watch them some what parallel with each other (like you could alternate universes or just binge a much of MCU and then through in a Spider-Man or something, it doesn’t matter the order other than each of the franchise orders separately. If that makes sense?), and so all that would matter is that by the time you get to Spider-Man No Way Home in your MCU watch through, you would have to have been done watching all of the 8 Sony movies, and that you have watched all of the 13 Fox movies before watching Deadpool 3 (or before Multiverse of Madness if you really want to understand the Professor X part, though it’s not the same universe). I disagree with the multiverse theory that Sony and Fox universes existed before He Who Remained died. I wasn’t aware that the parameters of a universe being allowed in the sacred timeline was a Kang not being created. That definitely got me thinking about the fact both Toby and Andrew both have never heard of the Avengers and that could be because of the theory Kang is a descendent of either Tony, T’Challa, or a soon to be introduced Reed Richards. Maybe those timelines and the Fox ones are allowed in the Sacred Timeline because they don’t have a Kang heritage. However, the way I interpreted that multiple universes in the sacred timeline line, is that those are the multiple versions of main timeline with the Avengers, the ones that the Avengers travel to in Endgame. I don’t think they’re full timelines that lead to a He Who Remains, but the branches of the main timeline that fit the parameters of the Sacred One. My fan theory is in those timelines they have a weird brand of soda or something small and insignificant. Like in Spider-Man into the Spider-verse. I believe once He Who Remains died, all timelines existed now from the beginning. So I don’t think Feige means what Sylvie did directly caused Doctor Strange’s spell to go wrong, I think Peter Parker caused the spell to go wrong. The multiverse existed the entire time and the TVA exists outside of time so it’s weird.

Yes, I think your theory works just fine. While I like the idea of the Tobey and Andrew universes having always existed while HWR was alive, there is no definitive answer on it. 19:30 or maybe since time travel in the Fox/Xmen universe dont use Quantum tecnology or magic,its just works in the butterfly effect way because its a diferent tecnology,and that would explain why the One Who Remains never needed to send the TVA there,since time travel on that universe dont generate new timelines,its just self fix himself with each change......this whole timeline just turn into a mess if you try to put the Fantastic Four in the middle,since Fox was planning to put then together at some point........and dont think that people had any problem with the Forth Wall breaking jokes or Meta humor on SheHulk.....problem was the rest of the show......

Yeah, I do wonder if the explanation for the time travel differences are that they weren't using quantum tech in the X-films. But I also just can't stand the butterfly affect as it creates such chaos in the timeline. Still, I think you could be on to something. Oh, and regarding She-Hulk, there are definitely some people that didn't like the rest of the show, but there were alot of people hating on Ep 9 as it was too reality bending. That's what made me have to scratch my head, as both Deadpool films are very, very reality bending. So it's weird anyone would be turned off by Ep 9 but enjoy the Deadpool movies. But great comments. @@AbitofEverything4U Yes. A year ago I was expecting a full on reboot of the X-Men instead of an integration into the MC Multiverse. Now, with Xavier cameoing in MoM, I'm half expecting them to bring back the actors but not exactly the same versions of the characters. That's the only way I see of bringing the X-Men without messing with the established canonical rules of time travel and the multiverse.

@@AbitofEverything4U Yes, he was involved but I doubt he was planning an integration that much ahead. Yes, he is a genius so he'll probably: 1) Not bring those movies into continuity, only the actors and music. 2) Bring some of the movies into canon, the ones that don't contradict each other. 3) or a third option: bring ALL the movies to canonicity but dividing them into ten or twenty different timelines. I don't see other way, since the very ending of each movie contradicts the start of the next from Last Stand onwards. And don't get me started on characters being born twice or not aging in 40 years. If in Loki they were guarding against another Kang, could the Nexus event that happened on Lementis 9 be that He Who Remains would have lost his shit if the two people he had planned to take his place ended up dead, potentially causing him to revert to a Kang-like mindset.

I think you nailed it. Other than those two Loki's (i.e. our 616 branched Loki and Sylvie), the TVA was otherwise pruning any branch that would create a Kang. I will always argue that First Class is NOT a prequel to the original films and is its own adjacent universe just like Toby and Andrew's adjacent universe of films. One could argue a time paradox was created by Deadpool 2 with the killing of Origins Wolverine version of Deadpool which could have created the original X-Men Trilogy. Also its been said that Deadpool 2 got erased because he saved Vanessa. So everytime you time travel, you're leaving one universe/timeline to a new universe/timeline. So the films erased as a result of Deadpool and Wolverine time traveling is X-Men Origins, The Last Stand, & Deadpool 2. So the order would be: X-Men Origins: Wolverine X-Men 1 X-2 The Last Stand The Wolverine First Class Days of Futures Past Logan Apocalypse Phoenix Deadpool 1 Deadpool 2

Interesting theories! Considering that the origin of Magneto in First Class does such an amazing job of recreating his origin from the first X-Men movie, I really like the idea that First Class is part of the original timeline and is also part of the post DOFP timeline. 12:38 Its possible that Wolverine is a constant. So the original timeline probably still existed, but for him a new future was created because its like they say “your past becomes your future” & because only his consciousness went back its a loophole. His physical body & all the X-Men probably still died in the original 2023. All of that happened but he got a second chance to live in a different timeline. For McCavoy Prof X he never experienced what Patrick Stewart did in the future. So he had new experiences Thus we have two branched timelines for the Fox universe

Excellent video as always! (Sorry I haven't commented on your latest video because it's Lunar New Year celebration and I have been busy) Hoo boy the X-men timeline is really confusing. I'm with you with the butterfly effect time travel. It's nice if it's done in a non-franchise film, like once and done to really emphasize the scope of the story, but in a franchise film, it really effects the other movies and renders them pointless, accidentally or not. So about your point with Tobey's Spidey's age. Idk but I have always assumed they are pulled from the furthest point in time in which they are existing in their own universe. Like with characters that died like Goblin, Doc Ock and Electro, they died (ceased to exist) in 2002, 2004 and 2014 respectively so they are pulled from that point in their timeline. As with the characters that are alive and well, I assume they are pulled from the moment they furthest exist in their time, which means it totally makes sense for Tobey Spidey to be pulled BACK to 2024 from his furthest point in existence (2027). Andrew Spidey aren't as clear as Tobey Spidey but I would assume that he was pulled into MCU from the time not long after Gwen's death. Because honestly, all the indications of his portrayal in NWH point out that he's not really over Gwen's death, still struggles to pull his punches and seemingly on his journey to heal. If he's pulled from his 2024 it's a way too long time (10 years) for him to not get help to heal himself, just saying. As for Sandman and Lizard, Sandman I can see him still being sands and his daughter taking care of him or something, and not really meet Tobey Spidey even after all those years (that's why he recognized/mistook Tom Spidey as Tobey Spidey when Tom Spidey wore the inside-out suit, it looks like the symbiote suit). Maybe he's also pulled from 2027 like Tobey and thus freaked out when he's not seeing his daughter. As for Lizard, I have to do some mental gymnastics but, hear me out. What if: 1. After Andrew cured Curt Connors, he gets killed in prison or 2. After Andrew cured Connors, the Lizard ceased to exist in his own timeline, like Connors lives on as Connors but the Lizard in "killed" in 2013, thus when he entered the MCU, it's right before Andrew cures him, as it was his (Lizard's) further point to exist. I don't know, does that all make sense? As for the watch order, I have seen KZbinrs do the MCU release orders -> binge Sony's Spider-mans -> No Way Home and then continue the MCU and watch Fox's movies in between whenever they like. It seems to work for them. As for me, I have been watching everything all over the place depends on my mood so I'm not the best person to suggest watch order, but if it were me, I would suggest watch the movies in release order alongside Sony's and Fox's movie if you're not keen on committing to the flow of one cinematic universe, and watch the movies like the KZbinrs do if you care about immersion.

As for the Lizard, I think your idea can work...it's definitely a confusing situation, but your thought process tackles it as well as can be, I think. Anyway, thanks so much for watching the vid and sharing your thoughts. Enjoyed reading them all!

Option 4 is to just watch everything in Release Order... and I mean EVERYTHING, or at least starting in 1998. I still haven't seen every movie I'd like to, but if you at least start with every Marvel Superhero movie from 1998 to the present in release order, you're still going to have some insane timeline shenanigans, but you can also watch how the Superhero movie evolves and progresses. Blade, X-Men, Spider-Man, Hulk, Daredevil, Fantastic Four, Ghostrider, Punisher, Iron Man and the rest of the MCU, all interspersed with whatever nonsense Sony and Fox started pushing out in between while they retained the rights. I get it, Chronological order is the best way to watch a number of things, but with how insane that X-Men timeline stuff is and if what it sounds like might happen in this Multiverse Saga comes to pass, it's best to be prepared for anything, and you watch anything older than 1998 if the opportunity presents itself.

I don't really have a problem with time travel re-writing history because it can be functionally the same as branching timelines. You go back in time, create an alternate history, and then the original timeline is erased by the TVA.
@AbitofEverything4U
@AbitofEverything4U Жыл бұрын
Interesting point. In concept, I guess that if you jumped back in time and created a branch and then TVA wiped out the original timeline, it is effectively the same as re-writing history. However, my understanding of the reset charge is that once a timeline has hit the red line, you can't reset/prune the branch. So I don't think the TVA can destroy a branch that's existed for awhile. Thus, that idea likely wouldn't work. But that's just my understanding of how the reset charges work. I just like that we don't have to keep worrying that someone will jump back in time and re-write things over and over. The X-verse is a great example of why that can get so confusing. For the X Men timeline. I think Wolverine Origins is just not canon to either branch of the timeline. Too many things don't work. I also don't think Deadpool 2 works, the First Class cast in present day and the time travel rules just mean it's better to be viewed as its own thing. Otherwise I think the branch idea works. The end is basically just jumping ahead to present day/ 2023. The only mechanical difference is that we a) don't follow the original timeline after (it kinda implies it ceases to exist as it's replaced, but we could just say that they all died after the Sentinels won, making it a moot point and not something the film follows), and that b) Logan's consciousness from timeline 1 returns to him after new-timeline-Logan lives his new life up until present day. That's not a mechanic that we've ever seen in the MCU time travel, though that's never been consciousness only. I'm gonna headcanon that Kitty Pryde or new-timeline-Xavier or a mix of both decided to reunlock (or program New-Logan's brain to later reunlock) that consciousness so that there was something from the old timeline that lived on. Otherwise I think it works as 2 branches of a variant universe. There's some stuff that happens between movies that we don't see, which we really should, like what happens after Mystique picking up Logan, or how Jean came back between 1992 to 2023. The ending does imply she's not actually dead with the flying star. You could pave over the hiccups with a few lines of dialogue unlike with X Men Origins. Otherwise I think the new timeline works, you've just got to pretend the new cast age 40 years in about a decade. I think you should view them either as just release order, or view Universe that released 1999 (X-Men), then Universe that released 2002 (Raimi), Universe that released 2008 (MCU), and maybe just pair the TASM universe with Raimi's as an epilogue of sorts.

Great comments. Yes, you definitely have hit some of the difficulties of the X-verse. I am amazed that they made it so convoluted with such a small number of films. The MCU isn't perfect and has had to do a few retcons here and there, but the X-verse is just a hot mess if you try to make all the movies canon. My only concern with de-canonizing Wolverine: Origins is that it does attempt to tie in Wolverine's story directly into the original trilogy. Granted, it does a terrible job at it, but I think they did consider it canon at the time. But all that said, I think your ideas work well and do solve alot of issues. My guess is that Deadpool 2, unfortunately, will directly connect to DP3. I suspect DP keeps using that time device and that is what brings in Mobius and the TVA. So while I agree DP2 is a mess of continuity, it will likely be considered canon. Will be interesting to see what they do with DP3. Anyway, thx so much for watching the vid and sharing your thoughts. Back-to-the-Future-style-timelines overwrite their own future in the past, right (hence why it he *has* to bring his parents together so he himself would still exist)? and Endgame-style-timelines don't overwrite their future, but split into different branches, right? Weird idea: What if Back-to-the-Future-style-timelines are *also* part of the End-Game-style multiverse, but those are special "weak" branches that don't branch into different timelines, but instead loop into themselves. It's like a tree, where all timelines branch into different universes, but those BTTF-Timelines are more like leaves. But that wouldn't really explain why X-Men's BTTF-style timetravel branch would somehow change into a Endgame-style branch (so Wolverine can join the MCU). Maybe there's something (He who remains? Some spell?) that somehow can limit branches into their own loop and that broke now because of Loki/He who remains and now X-Men's branch is now not a loop anymore. But Deadpool's timetravel bit is also confusing. Maybe deadpool *did* travel into different branches (killing Ryan Reynolds there, without really killing him in his real branch; What branch is Deadpool anyway? He isn't part of 616 yet, right?) Does is make any sense or things just more confusing?

I like the brainstorming of ways to make the X-verse time travel work. And I hope Marvel is doing the same. I would really love it if when Mobius and the TVA show up in DP3 that they find a way to make it all work out. They may well pull in some of your ideas that Kang had something to do with the time travel working differently. Or perhaps they go the route that I'd personally like to see them do which is that it wasn't a back to the future style time travel but really was Endgame style branches that the characters just "thought" was a back to the future style travel. I mean, it's weird that Cable's teddy bear was the only thing impacted by his changes to the past. Wouldn't he have changed as well somehow? I mean there was no reason to invent that tech in the first place if his family never died. Ugh. I hate butterfly effect time travel. Hate it, hate it, hate it! I don't really think that Tobey and Andrew's Peters are from exactly 2024, given that the villains and even Eddie/Venom came from different years, it'd make sense that the other two Peters are from different years as well, probably somewhere else in the 2020s. nowadays, I actually think that most of the Fox X-Men movies are set in different timelines/universes, this would explain all the continuity errors in every movie, the continuity errors would indicate that it's in a different timeline/universe (I know this wasn't originally meant to be the case, but it would work within the MCU's Multiverse), like for example, characters looking different, characters not aging at all, other stuff like that in every movie. personally, I don't really like the Absolute Points thing, because with a Multiverse, not everything is going to be the same in every universe, like for example, sure, in a lot of universes, Peter Parker is Spider-Man (and he looks different, depending on the branch), but there are other universes where someone else becomes the Spider hero (or even villain) instead, like in the 2002 film, someone else could have been bitten by the Spider instead of Peter (like Harry Osborn, Mary Jane, Flash Thompson, anyone else on that field trip), and there would be universes in the MCU's Multiverse where this is the case, as well as other characters with different hero/villain mantles (heck, there's probably a universe where Doctor Strange is Iron Man, or Reed Richards is Doc Ock). this is cause with the MCU's Multiverse, with an infinite amount of universes, anything is possible, some people exist, some don't, some look different and/or were born in different times, others have different lives in each universe, different fates than their Variants, and anyone in any universe can have the same hero/villain mantle as other people in other universes (doesn't matter who they are honestly), practically making no one the original mantle barrier, cause this is how the MCU's Multiverse works, and I actually kinda like this way, it makes fan's ideas for any Variants of any character possible (I myself have a lot of Variant ideas for lots of different characters).

Excellent feedback! Yes, I agree, there's nothing to really determine when Tobey and Andrew came from their universes. I picked 2024 for convenience, but it really could be any point in time. And I definitely agree that the x-verse timeline is pretty crazy and it will be very interesting to see how they handle Deadpool 3 when the TVA shows up. It'll be wild. Your comments on infinite universes giving us all kinds of radically different variants is spot on and I hope that in Secret Wars that we get some really crazy variants. Gonna be alot of fun watching the Multiverse Saga unfold in the years to come. Thanks so much for watching the vid and sharing your thoughts. I enjoyed reading them all!

Imagine telling a Marvel fan in 2012 there's going to be a movie where Deadpool and Wolverine are getting to probably interact with Loki and other MCU characters.

It might be a bit of a dark thing, but since the villains are moved from the last moment before their death - what if Spider-Man Maguire and Garfield were also moved from the last moment before their death?

I really think that the Sony timelines were implied to be incepted after Loki. I just don't see the relevance of Feige's explanation, if they weren't. He said "The events of Loki made [the arrival of Sony characters to the MCU] possible." He's not throwing in some revelation or explaining in detail something irrelevant, he's approving of our own expectations of what happened. And if what he really meant was "The events of Loki thinned the magical walls between realities and so on, and so forth." then it would just be fanfiction without a baseline provided by anything whatsoever, other then Feige's words. Cinema doesn't work like that.

Actually, I agree with you completely that Feige meant: "The events of Loki made [the arrival of Sony characters to the MCU] possible." But to me, that doesn't have to imply the Sony characters were created by the death of HWR but only that the arrival of the characters was made possible by the death of HWR. So it can either be that they were created by HWR's death or that HWR's death weakened the barriers between universes and made it possible for the botched spell to pull them in, but they had already been there before. I guess that's why I see both possibilities being viable. Just my take though. Always love your feedback on the vids. Thanks for watching and sharing what's on your mind!

The way I process the X-Men timelines are in 2 parts (just view each part as a separate timeline) Part 1.1 - First Class Part 1.2 - Origins Part 1.3 - 1.5 - the OG trilogy Part 1.6 - The Wolverine Part 1.7 and 2.1 - Days Of Future Past (now if we assume that what Logan did in 1973 did actually create a new timeline, which is Part 2, then it still works... which I will explain) Part 2.2 - Apocalypse (the Wolverine we see released from Essex Corp is the same Wolverine in Days Of Future Past's 2023 ending, but because they used time travel of the mind instead of physical bodies, he didn't regain his memories of Part 1 until his Part 1 self had died in Part 1's 2023) Part 2.3 - Dark Phoenix (they actually hint that Jean is still alive at the end but not many people notice it or even knew it, which is how she can still show up in Part 2's 2023 at the end of Days Of Future Past) Part 2.4 - Deadpool (I chalk all his timeline mocking and 4th wall breaks up to his insanity) Part 2.5 - a very certain Deadpool 2 trailer/short called "No Good Deed". I include this here because it shows a movie called "Logan", possibly an in-universe biopic or just a movie based on the X-Men, being played in theaters. This is why in Deadpool 2, Wade could be trying to unalive himself due to Logan's death, which doesnt occur until 2029, because he died in the movie and due to Wade's insanity he "overreacts" to the character's death... its the only way I can explain Deadpool 2 rn 😂 Part 2.6 - Deadpool 2 (with the time travel stuff in this, I just chalk it up to multiple branch timelines being created in the chaos of the multiverse... which is probably why Mobius from the TVA is reportedly stepping in in Deadpool 3... also in my mind Cable's son's teddy bear didn't actually change, I tell myself that's a lie Deadpool tells himself and other people to spruce up the insane 4th wall breaking movie that is his life) Part 2.7 - The New Mutants (if you want to include it 😂 which must occur in 2020, because we learn in Logan that no known mutants have been born since 2004 and the oldest mutant in The New Mutants is 16 if I remember correctly) Finally... Part 2.8 - the masterpiece Logan to end the very confusing X-Men timelines until Deadpool 3 releases and we have to see how that fits into everything PS... due to the she-hulk reference I have to quickly mention that I head canonize that by saying after Jen got her powers she obviously became a superstar superhero lawyer... so I view the She-Hulk show as an in-universe origin of She-Hulk, an actual show that aired inside the MCU

While nothing's been confirmed yet I would be curious to know where you think Ang Lee's 2003 Hulk would take place in relation to the MCU timeline and that of the Sony and Fox movies. Obviously a lot of people have noted how 2008's Incredible Hulk still feels like it carries over from where the 2003 movie left off despite being intended as a reboot, so it's likely they would still place it before that movie and Iron Man. I guess then it would just be a question of where it fits alongside Sony's Spider-Man and Fox's X-Men.
@AbitofEverything4U

Yeah, I do think that when Incredible Hulk came out in 2008, there was a definite attempt to connect the 2003 and 2008 movies together, since both were made by Universal. It seems the MCU has decided not to make that movie canon to the main 616 universe, but I could still argue that it fits in and that if Marvel decided to call it 616 canon, then it would fit w/o much issue. As for it being canon to the mulitiverse, however, that is a definite yes. And so it could be considered as part of an entire MCU rewatch in that regard. Thanks so much for watching the vid and sharing your theories. Really appreciate it!

@@AbitofEverything4U No problem. You seem to be pretty good at figuring this multiverse stuff out. I suppose the one major thing that doesn't completely line up with the MCU is the way in which Bruce becomes The Hulk. I had actually tried re-watching the 2003 movie before the first Avengers to see how well they could fit together and found that once you get to the scene with Cap reading about Bruce becoming The Hulk in an attempt to recreate the Super Soldier Serum, while in the 2003 movie he was working in nanomeds research, that the two movies just seemed to contradict from there. As far as whether or not they make it official in showing Ang Lee's Hulk to be part of the MCU's multiverse will depend on whether or not they can convince Eric Bana to reprise the role again, which he seems disinterested in based on the interviews I've heard about. Of course Ang Lee himself did a lot of the mo-cap for Hulk in his movie so now they would probably just want to have Bana doing it the same as with Mark Ruffalo. Whether or not we do get to see 2003 Hulk again it should be safe to assume by this point that the movie's going to exist in the MCU's vast multiverse regardless.
@AbitofEverything4U
@AbitofEverything4U Жыл бұрын
Right...I think you nailed it on that last point. The movie is certainly a "what if?" type story, if nothing else. But it would be very cool to see that version of the Hulk in Secret Wars to tie them all together via the multiverse. I think it is unlikely Feige will pull in the 2003 version into 616 continuity and that item you mention about his origin is a great example of the potential issues. Nice catch!

If we go by Disney Plus timeline logic then for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 you would actually want to watch that immediately after the first movie since the second (not including the flashback scene) opens with Peter and Gwen graduating which would place it in October of 2013 (I’m just assuming that’s the normal month everyone graduates in because it was like that for me but anyway) then after they brake up the movie skips over one year into 2014 and after Gwen dies five months have gone by and considering one of the flash forward scenes has Peter visiting her grave in the snow then we can say the movie end in early 2015 but yeah and then for the Venom and Morbius films being set in between Infinity War and Endgame again Disney Plus timeline logic you would watch Endgame immediately after Infinity War since the opening is set one month after Infinity War so yeah.

Excellent points in regard to how the D+ timeline places T:TDW right after Avengers, which has always seemed abit strange, even if it is technically correct. I went more by when the main part of the movies occur for this video, but you are correct that several of the movies do start up right after the previous ones and so the watch order has a few different interpretations, based on how you would want approach the beginning of the movies vs. the majority of the movies. Great observations as always!
