I have to say I think these are the sweet spot of the lineup now. No binding on the body doesn’t matter at all as looks more vintage anyway, the wiring updates and the neck heel joint cutaway together with awesome ebony fretboard makes this perfect especially at this money. I’d buy this over any other model for value for money

These coming out make so happy I didn’t pull the trigger on the modern studio. I really liked those but wasn’t getting along with the porous non grain filled finish of the studio modern. These having all the same features but a more traditional finish make the GAS burn bright

I’m always surprised that they don’t mention right off the bat one of the biggest changes they made to the new studios that everybody loves is the fact that they put the Gibson logo in real MOP. And not just a stamped decal. Makes it feel more premium.

There will be always people who hate Gibson just for it’s existence. From my experience, these are mostly people who can’t effort one. Nowadays it’s so easy to buy one at a good price on the used market. I’ve owned so many Gibsons over the years from cheap Melody Makers to Collector‘s Choice and I was happy with every of these. So lively and mostly holding the value when purchased used. After 12 years of searching I finally found my personal dream guitar. A 2006 Double Diamond 335 in Pearl White. So rare that even Gibson has no records of these. Plays so beautiful und sounds so round. Thanks Gibson for building so beautiful instruments. Haters gonna hate but a Gibson will always be a Gibson.

The studio is amazing it's playability, it's sound, and I am not afraid to bring it places and play it. I always worry with the others. Not the studio... When I play sketchy places, I bring out my Les Paul Jr. And only play that. My second favourite guitar... Love my Jr.

Alot of people ripped out their 57 classics in the 90s and 2000s because they thought they were too dark and muddy but the issue was the 300k pots. Most people didn't know about the pots and bought new pickups when all they had to do was get some 500k pots . With 500k pots 57 classics have plenty of brightness and bite with the pots on 10 .

Went to my GC and was pretty disappointed with the quality. They brought it out to me still in the sealed box from the factory. The tone knob for the bridge pickup looked like it had melted. Digits 4-8 were a smeared mess. The pickup ring for the bridge wasn't screwed all the way down. The neck pickup was sloping downhill in the cavity. That's cosmetic and can be fixed easily. When i tried to switch from the neck pickup to the bridge, nothing. Had to fiddle with it for a minute before i got anything. I went in to buy today, but that turned me off real quick. I couldn't believe that guitar passed QC and went out the door.

Imo its something the store should inspect for you. I know for big guitar stores its impossible but a local shop should check for faults and returned it to gibson. That should be the way to go...

Jimmy Page Never used out of phase tones during led Zeppelin . He didn't have Phase switches on his les Pauls untill after Led Zeppelin and even then he rarely used it . His backup 59 Les Pauls got Phase switching in 1981 and his number 1 les Paul got a single push pull pot for phase switching in the mid 90s . No phase switches or coil taps during Zeppelin .

If the idea is to build a versatile guitar that a broad spectrum of players can use, then put a 59 style standard C neck on it. Not too thin or thick. By putting a SlimTaper neck on it, Gibson eliminated half the buyers who prefer a more rounded neck profile. Standard 59 C, sell more guitars.

The current “diversification” of the Gibson USA portfolio reminds of the late Henry J. era. You have a „Studio“, „modern studio“ and now a „Studio Session“ in your line up. It’s becoming so many similar models that it starts to get confusing and new models require a lengthy introduction to point out what the differences to other models in the portfolio are. You are starting to loose the clear and understandable product strategy (original- and modern collection) from the 2019 brand revamp.
@lewismcnicholas2631Ай бұрын
Yeah I feel a bit like that - I don’t see Gibsons as something you mess around with - you want it thick and heavy with tons of mojo - maybe I’m just getting older 😂
@SK-qd4srАй бұрын
@@lewismcnicholas2631that’s not what I am concerned about. I like that they try something new and different in the modern collection. You still have the original collection for more vintage spec‘d guitars or the Custom Shop at a higher level. What I don’t get is why are there some many very similar varieties of the same guitar (here LP Studio) in lineup at the same time. It’s cool to refresh your product lines at regular intervals, but maybe you should phase out the old models when introducing a new variety to keep the product portfolio tidy. But I am not a product manager so I might not understand the subject

I'd go used standard myself, but I get the price on these. They are $400 more than a regular studio but you're getting the "modern" features, 57 classic pickup set, double a top and the ebony fingerboard. It seems to fit into the LP range properly. That said, I think Gibson is going overboard with different models and color options at this point and getting away from the simplified lineup approach they started in late 2019.
@rayadray9279Ай бұрын
Not for $2k 👎👎👎👎 Bring back the Tribute. Put push pulls in it and binding on the neck. Love the Tribute for the secondary LP line. If your going to spend the extra on this Studio...You might as well spend a couple dollars more and get the Traditional pro. This studio doesn't make sense for a smart guitarist and sure is not a more affordable way to get the different tones. ( bring back the Tribute with some extras trust me )*
@adamwatson691615 күн бұрын
At least they finally ditched those god awful 490 and 498 pickups and put some good pickups in Their . 57 classics are great pickups so at this price you should be getting 57 classics or Burstbuckers .

I bought that blueberry burst "the One" Studio and although I do like the extras on this session, I would be inclined to buy another this new version as well if the color palette offering were different. And if the asking price is 2k, just throw in the hard shell case. 🥸
