well, as for the language barrier, it is true that most ppl in China can't speak English very well, but we do have some ppl who are fluent(it seems you just don't have that luck lol). and i understand sometimes the translation apps suck at some point... but as i said, it's no surprise at all when you meet ppl who cannot speak english at all, so be used to that if you want to come back to visit at another time
