The planes in MK8D's Sunshine Airport have always interested me, especially the yellow ones. They look like those tourist buses. Dolphin Shoals is another one because if you look close enough, you can see some hills in the background of the outer course.

It's pretty cool to think that in-universe they use this airport to travel to the different tracks of the game. This theory is further supported by those track ads and that digital board showing track names and departure times!

that brings the question of does every racetrack have an airport we cant see? how do they get to rainbow road? can they go on a direct path between other tracks or do they have to go back to sunshine airport every time? what do they even do on the plane for so long so often, and why is it worth it to them to fly up to 8 hours for a 2 minute race?

@@B0ssguy Well, in the Wario snow mountain track, I believe the race starts in an airplane that they drive out of, and therefore an airport isn't actually necessary! It could be that they do it like this on other tracks too! Not sure how they get back into the airplane though. Maybe with a ramp.
