It was hot. Very hot. My buddy Matt recommended the Sonoran Desert Traverse, so we picked it up between Phoenix and LA, heading towards Disney Land!

Also, what you are smelling is the oils from the creosote bushes. They are one of the plants that gives the desert it’s amazing smell. Especially after it rains. (I’m from AZ) :)

I thoroughly enjoyed this one and the edit is simply perfect with the music. Well done man. One day at a time, take your time, because it’s all we have. Cheers. ✌🏻

Revere, I also enjoy hearing you talk about your vehicle and the things that are on it and why, I am so happy you kept the blue Rep color it should be overland special colour, I'll bet the rap would cost a fortune to regular folks, also want to hear about that little antenna with the loading coil at the top that I think is a GPS multiplier,

Great video!! I don't have any kids, but wish I had, especially watching you and your son. I hope this is just a beginning of many life long adventures for both of you together. On another note, I just retired and want to set up a vehicle and camp like you are doing with a topper fold out tent like you have. How do you think a full size truck compares to a mid size with a similar set up in the northwest mountains and forest service roads, and maybe some desert stuff eventually in Arizona and Nevada? Keep up the great videos!
@RevereOverland
@RevereOverland 5 ай бұрын
Thanks! I certainly hope he wants to continue coming with me as he gets older. I think a full size truck is the way to go, especially for the west and PNW. The Tundra is already over GVWR, and something like a Tacoma or Gladiator is going to be even further over. If you’re worried about staying under GVWR, a 3/4 ton is the best option.

I would love to bring my 100 Watt transceiver and run a "worked all trails" to have other hams call in and trace us on their computer listings. I have the rig, the willingness, and the money to pay my own way...... What does Revere say...? It would add amateur radio fun to your wonderful trips.... A lot of hams must already watch you, I think.

i see lil' cholla hopped a ride on the sidewall of the rear right tire at 12 :38.. as a kid, i got one of those stuck between my barefoot and flip flop while runnin around, so when i stepped down it sunk deep into my footbed.. very painful to say the least.. i don't recommend running in the desert with flip flops 🩴😉 gotta love that Az desert 🌇🌵

That one hung on for a while! I was surprised it stuck so well to a thick tire. I’d hate to think what it could do to a bare foot, and can imagine it’s very painful!

Our first camping trip with him was at 3 months old. He had no clue what was going on, but slept through the night for the first time while we were out!
