Hip Camp really is a life saver for public land deserts. I selfishly hope it doesn't get too popular, but also want more land owners to use it.

It really is! I actually looked into getting some land in Colorado and throwing it onto Hipcamp. I think we just need to move there ourselves though.

We live in a rec Mecca but few camping areas close by. We had a campground on our rural land that a planner okayed but then some jerk neighbors turned us in. It was revealed that to have a small rustic campground, we needed a $4000 permit plus input from neighbors and presenting the plan to a bunch of hostile bureaucrats. The planner didn’t remember our conversation. There are some private Hip Camp places near by but are not permitted.

Yeah I’d rather be in a field over a campground or RV resort any day! I need to look into them on the east side of the US since there’s not much dispersed camping.

drove that highway 1 up the Or coast (from the bay area to eugene) back in the 90's with my trusty '72 VW superbug, absolutely the best coastal drive in America. great memories being made here. cheers!

We love the drive down the coast. In different trips we have done from Olympic national Park to LA. Would love to do LA to Mexico down the coast.

Your drone shots are always top-notch. I don't understand how you fly it backwards ahead of you as you're driving down the trail without a) crashing the drone or b) getting carsick

Lol, thanks! I just watch the drone itself, not the screen. The only time I've felt carsick is when flying an FPV drone with goggles on inside a moving vehicle. That's rough!

Yes... eventually! We did the lift and tires video, but my rear bumper took so long to arrive that the second part has been delayed to the point where I'm trying to get caught up on trip videos first!

ever seen a bigfoot or anything weird in your adventures?

The weirdest thing I’ve ever seen was a guy completely in the nude sitting on the edge of a cliff next to his camp setup. I think we caught him by surprise as we drove past because he quickly jumped up and grabbed his clothes.
