Let's explore the Westgate Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. The Westgate sits along Paradise Drive, and was built in 1969. The hotel was home to Elvis, and he sold out all 837 shows he performed.
Elvis held the penthouse suite Room 3000 from 1969 until his last show in December of 1976.

I really enjoyed. My husband and I stayed there 3 or 4 times a year in the nineties when it was the Hilton. Although it's changed a lot it still brought back some great memories.

Just stayed there two week ago. First time in Vegas for my daughter and I. Sure enjoyed our stay at Westgate. Liked the idea that the monorail was conveniently located out their back door. Would stay there again, hotel personnel friendly and helpful.

I used to go to the daycare at the Las Vegas Hilton when my parents took trips to Vegas. (1984-1988). Learned how to be a pool shark at 8 years of age.

I would love to see the Flamingo. I have stayed there a million times but I still love to enjoy a walk through when I am stuck here in Canada. The flamingos and ponds are paradise. Thank you for all the great videos!

We stayed here a few times back in the late 70s. As a young kid, it was not kid friendly back in those days. If I remember correctly, there was a small pool on the roof that was only open from 11am to 3pm. I asked my mother why the pool was not open any later and she said that they wanted to make sure that everyone spent all of their time in the casino. Kids were really not welcomed to Vegas back in those days with the exception of Circus Circus. We stayed here as the room prices were the best and it was a nice hotel. The controversy back then was that it was the only large casino that was not right on the strip. Paul Anka played here back in those days. Back in the late 70s, Vegas was not really big. I-15 was only 2 lanes wide in each direction and there was like only 8 exits for Vegas and there was never any traffic on it. Nowadays every time I go there or through there I am amazed at how much it has grown and how large it has become. It is great to see that it is now very kid friendly.

Hi. I stayed here last year for three days..excellent hotel especially sports deck is unbelievable. One thing I noticed that elevator does not come quickly. You have to wait at least 3 to 5 minutes if you are using in late night..rest is cool

Wow, I just had the weirdest thought. $40 a day, free maid, free wi fi, cucumber water and snacks(I didn't hear if there was any food or anything) but $40 times 30 days is $1200 a month! Way cheaper than a mortgage or even rent for that matter. Can you live in your hotel room? I wonder... thanks for sharing this!

Doesn't work like that. Resort fees alone will double your daily cost. The price is not that everyday. Weekends and holidays are much more....there are rules for long term stay in one room. But u can shift around rooms by rebooking....

I remember the Land Mark as well, damn I was a kid then. Where I use to work Venitian Palazzo. In one of the main hall ways for employees only there are several pictures one was the Landmark being employed. When I was a kid the Hilton took over as well, my mom and dad took me there and they had a large Arcade for kids, well it was big to me about the size of the second floor of Circus Circus area. Then way later as one also posted they had the Star Tec thing, kinda cool, did that just to check it out. Not my thing but hey, I am an STF mostly. I could show you areas of Vegas from when I lived here back in the early 80s that did not exist to what did including Henderson where we would skip school and watch the M1A1s run drills. Sumerlin area did not exist at all, that was desert, There was no 95 in Henderson, just Bolder HYW. two main cross streets were Lake Mead and Sunset. 215 did not exist till after 1995. GV started about 1987 or 1986. I was also here when Pepcon well blew up, that was a day I will never forget. No one knew what was going on that day. Nellise scrabled fighters, ATC at MC was routing ACs away from the location. And the destuction it caused for miles.

Nice review ! My recent trip started out nice, we got an 11am check in for $25 and it was well worth it. The casino is very nice, great restaurants, and the room was decent. Having a station on the monorail is so convenient. However, the elevator lines were ridiculous. 15-20 minutes long line to get on one, and the ride was 10-15 minutes because the packed elevator was stopping at every floor full of waiting people at each floor. I don't come to Vegas to stand in line. Everything about this property was so nice, but the elevator situation spoiled it. I will not be coming back or else I will get a room on a low floor so you can take the stairs. That's really pathetic that a major property can't have enough elevators.

The casino hasn't changed much from the days of being a Hilton. I think you can still make out the entrance to the Star Trek Casino @1:18 now it is a preview center.

When we walked through the Westgate, I was surprised how nice it is. The casino is nice and not so loud that it's annoying. I would stay there if it wasn't so damn far off the strip. Plus I don't want to be hassled by timeshare assholes.

We stayed across the street twice at the Springhill Suites By Marriott. The busses stopped almost in front of the hotel so easy to get to the strip. No resort fees on the rooms and they have a shuttle. I wouldn't mind staying at the Venetian but I might have to win the lottery first.

For an older hotel it looks pretty good. I remember watching some old Let's Make A Deal with Monty Hall. Some of them were filmed at the Las Vegas Hilton so guess this would be the place. That is really cool. One thing that is nice about some of the older places is that they are not nearly as crowded as the newer places and I like that. Very nice video.

rupert I was there two years ago and was shown around by a friendly concierge. So I thought. After a while it became obvious he was pushing for the timeshares. Extremely annoying and disappointing. We clearly stated we weren't looking for it, but he kept pushing.

The bar in the Center of the casino is the most beautiful that I have ever seen! We got lucky the last time that I was there. It was 2 fer ONE happy hour! WHEEEEE! We were on our way to do the go carts,but realized we were over the limit to drive....

No reason to return after they closed Star Trek attraction. For a long time, they didn’t do anything to cover up the Star Trek entrance. Did you film that area? I can’t tell. The walkway leading towards the shopping area looks updated, but not much better. I really hate the look of the Westgate signs. The cracked monorail columns look horrible.
