Today, my friend Anna and I embarked on a big adventure: An 8 Day tour through the highest region on Earth, The Tibet Autonomous Region. It was such a treat to experience the beautiful culture, wondrous sights, and genuinely kind people of Tibet! If you are able to visit, I highly recommend adding Tibet to your travel list. It was incredible!
PART 1 shows our travels from Shanghai and our first day exploring Lhasa, the capital city of Tibet and one of the highest cities in the world! The sights in the area were incredible and it was fascinating to learn about the rich history of each location. My favorite parts of the day were seeing the beautiful variety of Traditional Tibetan clothing showcased on Barkhor Street and interacting with everyone we met! Each person we passed throughout the day greeted us with a smile and warm hello. :)

Wow! Tibet is so beautiful !!! Beautiful in the sense how it has been for thousands of years with the Buddhist culture and its environment purely preserved directly or indirectly by the principles of Ahimsa (Non-Violence) and Karuna (Compassion). Even more beautiful are the Tibetans themselves OMG! Their language, culture, even the way they look, they are so distinct and unique. May Buddha, Gods and Goddesses of Hindu, Christ, Allah bless and not let this pure land extinct through systematic cultural assimilation! Wow! Tibet is Tibet, a pure land of Tibetans!

Wow, Allison the camera is so sharp as the image is just so vibrant. I have not been to China, my motherland but golly gosh what continuously to gobsmack me is the cleanliness of the place and the friendliness of the people. You have a good idea for shooting excellent footages. Maybe you should join the Media Challenge organised by CGTN. Rachel Weiss from the States does not want to go home after her teaching stint and she is now a roving reporter for CGTN. Hope you can tee up something of this nature as I love the angle you shoot from except the one showing your feet walking. Otherwise brilliant video. Cannot wait for the rest of the Tibetan Tour. Did you suffer any altitude sickness at all?

I was there 20 years ago, in Lhasa and I also did a 300km loop outside the city. Love that part of China although I had to deal with some altitude sickness issues for a few days. Love to go back for a revisit.
