Hello to all: I have just published a video where I examine the similarities of the Ahu (platforms) of Easter Islands to the Langi (Pyramids) of Lapaha in Tongatapu. Here, I prove that the Tongans influenced the Ahu of Easter Island after the 14th century. View this very significantly historic documentary here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oJDIqHqlaaaEras

Omge I must be the slow Tongan person in here. I didn't know this and I always take a trip to Tonga. I have heard of the Royal Tombs being in Lapaha and thought it was a rock wall and never bother to go see lol plus nobody talks about it. I am from Maufanga so you know that's a bit far from Lapaha. Anyhow by watching your awesome video I noticed the Royal Tombs are being neglected seems like, or is it because nobody can touch it? And The schools in Tonga don't tell you this kind of stuff, or at least the Langi in Lapaha that is. Now you got me planning a trip to Lapaha next time I go to Tonga. Your video is amazing and it makes me more proud of my Kingdom Island and culture. Malo aupito.

Thank you for your wonderful comments. You are not the first Tongan that has written to me with the same comments, that is, that this video actually taught them something that no one had told them about. When I uploaded my video of the Tongan Fort in the island of Wallis, I received hundreds of emails from Tongans from all over the world thanking me for making that video because they knew nothing about that fort and that their ancestors had made it all the way there..

@@renegade2991 Nukuleka folks are people of Lapaha. Their families' estate are of Po'ulia and Ha'amea where the 10th Tui Tonga lived with Nua from 'Eua. Their son was born there and moved more eastbound to Niutoua where he ruled as the 11th Tui Tonga (TuiTaTui). He had a sister Latu but not included in their history. The 11th Tui Tonga had two sons and a daughter and later moved to Kolonga and onto Manuka then settled in Nukuleka. My point is that the 'Ikafoli (The family of Nukuleka) has alway been from Tui Lapaha and followed the King on their journey and back to Lapaha with Tui Tonga Talatama and Talaiha'apepe. The question is, why Professor Burley picked Nukuleka? The answer is simple. The Falefa and the people of Lapaha would NOT allow him to excavate but referred to Nukuleka in which an area of their belonging still.

Vic Stefanu - World Travels and Adventures Hi Vic, I have also gathered knowledge that there is another langi located in the island of uiha in the haapai group. I know that these islands are sort of brother islands because according to legends, the ancestors of these islands were navigators who knew how to sail to Samoa and other islands. There were known as the tui ha'angana. And the nickname of the islands haano and uiha are known as the "ongo ha'angana" which means the two ha'anganas. Please if you have the chance brother, please document the langi in uiha too.

+Jay Young I cannot tell you my friend how exciting it was to videotape these tombs (or, pyramids) in Tonga. Half of the excitement originated from the fact that I had actually made it to Tonga (not a minor feat) and the other half from the fact that I was looking at ancient history in the PACIFIC, I am such a sucker for history. I spent hours and hours over there and only when I got very thirsty I decided to just leave... Now, as I said, it you draw a triangle between the pyramids of Egypt, Peru and Tonga, you can see how fascinating it is to visit all 3 other these sites and I am so thankful that I have done so in my life...

Very interesting and informative video of the langi's located in the ancient capital of Tonga, Lapaha. It is truly sad to see such an important site rest is such a poor state of neglect. These langi's are roughly 800 years old, and these burial grounds encompass a very large area on several different levels. Just the movement of these huge and extremely large stones into place was a magnificent feat of accomplishment in itself. I wonder just how many slaves gave their lives in order to get these burial grounds built and in place. Since not all these langis' were properly identified. I wonder how the the [resent generation of people living in Tonga, know exactly who is buried in each langi. In any event each person who was buried here had to be a very important leader of their people.

It has been found out by the Tongan National American Society that the Hamo'onga Maui huge standing stones, other masonary works, stone works or marble works of Tonga nd around the Pacific islands were engineered by Fijian influence .If that was so, then no doubt that Fijians did architected/engineered all those megalithic sites around the world. Since they had their own form of transportation both in the air nd sea. It should be a great possibility for them to reach any parts of the earth with their big seabuses double hulled Drua canoes nd their flight machine like todays aeroplane known as "valevuka"(flight house) in Fijian legends.

@@VicStefanu Also try to dig deep into the initial construction of Nan Madol stone city on a reef of Pohnpei Micronesia. Theres a special group of people on the west part of Pohnpei who knows deep secrets about Nan Madol which is mentioned in one of those links. "Extreme western region of esoteric attributed to the islands of Fiji".. That was where those 2 legendary giant brothers Olosiva and Olosova, 17 men nd women + Fiti Pul( Fiji Bul) a large serpent or flying dragon) levitated those stones by the heavy sound of waves onto the big Fijian Drua canoes nd thd log stones strapped on the back of the serpent nd shipped all them 60% magnetic stones all the way from Fiji to West Katau(Kosrae) nd then to Pohnpei Micronesia. Where they built Nan Madol. That was the stone fort of the Burotu(Pulotu) Empire of Moturiki Fiji. Which used to reign in the Pacific from the 1st century after the flood until it was flooded on the 8th century AD. There were names still lives on Moturiki island today which commemorated that stone shipment from Davetalevu(Uluibau) to Vunuku(Daku) reef to Pohnpei Micronesia. Moreover there were ancient broken potteries found on that very reef which proved the fact of the Burotu Empire fort that once stood on that reef. Those first colonisers were based from that Fijian stone fort when they supplied their gigantic/normal men(who could turned to demigods) around the world to colonise them in those early decades. There are also Tui Pulotu Dynasty and Tui Pulotu Empire posts on You Tube which you can have a look into. thanks for the video.

This is exactly what I've thought years ago. I don't believe our tongan ancestors built the langi and ha'amonga I think the giants (like the demigod maui) built it back in the day as they travelled through to Easter island and Peru. I'm pretty sure there would be a significant archeological find if you were to dig below.

..naming them pyramids is stretching it a bit. The mound on Savai'i would probably be more suited to being called a pyramid, but the fact that these are coral blocks deserves attention. No one really knows who built these structures, and would have to agree, it wasn't the present current inhabitants of these islands, there just isn't the continuation of an historical pretext to be able to explain them, on any of the islands in the Pacific.

Naphtali Exiled : Ok I will try my best, 😅 but first, where are you from ? 1. Tonga: in my language means “south”. The group of islands (I think about 150 give or take?) collectively is called Tonga . The main island itself is called “Tongatapu”, meaning “sacred south” and it is located furthest south of the collective group of islands. So I am not sure if it meant, “south” as in a general direction, indicating the south of the Pacific, used in their navigation in general OR the island located furtherest south of the Tongan group of islands. There are five main group of islands that make up the Tongan group. The furtherest south is “Tongatapu” (sacred south) and the furtherest north is the Niua Group which are referred to as “Tokelau mama’o” (furtherest to the north) . (Similar to “raroTONGA”, located in the “southern” group of the Cook Islands) 2. ‘Aue: in our language ( also used ‘oiaue) , we use this to express a reaction depending on context (happiness, shock, anger, sadness or grief etc...) Expressions like: “oh my gosh!”, “what!?” Or “yay!” Etc... 3. malolo: in our language this means to rest. it is also referred to as death. 4. Kava: in general, it is known as the “drink” the brown drink, Consumed socially and also during formal functions. The drink is made from fine powder, crushed from the dried kava plant. This plant grew on the grave of a young girl named “kava”, a leper. She was sacrificed for the king to eat when he stopped by on an island where her parents (fevanga & fefafa) lived. They were poor and didn’t have food to host the king when he arrived unexpectedly. The only thing they did have was a massive taro plant (kape) . So they set to harvest it. But apparently when they got to it, they found the king sleeping, leaning against their kape plant. It was taboo to wake the king if he was asleep so the left. They resulted to sacrificing their daughter and cooked her in an earth over (umu). The king woke and heard of what they had done. I am not sure if he asked the parents to leave the girl buried in the umu when he found out, or he left straight away without addressing the parents. Anyways, the girl was left in the umu, which later became her grave. Not long after two plants grew on it. The parents named one plant after her (kava) and the other (to), a sugarcane plant. The kava plant was bitter and those who drank it regularly developed very Ashy/scaly skin, consistent wish kavas (the girls) leprosy. I hope that helps! If anyone else reading this would like to add on please feel free to!

lol you’re probably a 12 year old sitting behind his sisters laptop. Tonga came from SAMOA’ the current Tongan Royal family today is SAMOAN. Samoans allowed the first Tu’i Tonga to reside in Upolu until the Samoans saw how they were becoming crucial & literally chased them out while a few Samoan family blood lines went with the Tongans
@renegade9064
@renegade9064 4 жыл бұрын
@Nicholas Vuki, Sorry but wrong! The current Tu’i line in Tonga ‘Eiki is & has always been ‘Tongan’. We do admit the first Tu’i Kanokupou’s (Ngata) Mother was Samoan however, Ngata never resided or wished to reside in Samoa. He married two Tongan sisters from the Hihifo District in Tonga. All the Tu’i Kanokupolus who would come after would go on to marry ‘Tongan’ Chief’s daughter’s, therefore making their Bloodline “Tongan”. I’m sorry, the Tu’i Tonga who ruled Western Samoa was not granted or given access, he literally took control of the districts. There are a few Tongan Forts left in Samoa as evidence. The Tu’i Tonga was a tyrannical ruler, they planned a surprise attack and forced him and his men off the island. There are many Samoans who have Tongan Heritage because of this.
@readrk4303
@readrk4303 4 жыл бұрын
@Renegade Umm no there were more than just one Samoan part of the empire such as the mother of Kau’ulufonu’a also the mother of Ngata also the mother of TT Puipuifatu who also married a Samoan, TT vakafuhu, TT Tapu’osi, TT Uluakimata and the Father of Ahoeitu were all from Tagaloalagi which are the first people in Samoa also there is no such current Tu’i Tonga line, only the Tupou dynasty which is under the Tu’i Kanokupolu which is also translated as Heart/Flesh of Upolu. The only people who could go against the empire were also the Samoans, there was a huge decline of Tu’i Tonga due to the cruelty of the 15TT called Talakaifaiki towards the Samoans in the 1250’s. After most of his warriors were slaughtered he also knew that he couldn’t get revenge against Samoa which is why he said ‘We won’t come back again for war but as family’ which is now called Cape Fatuosofia. Parts of Samoa was considered the sacred chosen people no Tongan noblewoman were high enough to be married to a King except for the Princesses of Samoa since Ahoeitu’s father was from Tagaloalagi Also 19TT Havea was Assassinated by a Fijian, 22TT was Assassinated by a Fijian & 23TT Takalaua was Assassinated while taking a bath. It wasn’t until Tu’i Takalauas son Kau’ulufonu’a who had a Samoan mother, killed his fathers murderers and created TH & TK (Heart Of Upolu) the two sons of Tu’i Takalaua both resided in Samoa, they also both are the first of TH & TK. Their younger generations only marry each other in order to keep the Royal blood. It’s not easy to explain their ancestors history but this will be the most simplified article you’ll read to understand the Samoan influence of Tu’i Tonga, Tu’i Ha’atakalaua & Tu’i Kanokupolu. Malo aupito 🇼🇸🇹🇴
@renegade9064
@renegade9064 4 жыл бұрын
@Nicholas Vuki, Sorry toko but you didn’t read my reply properly, you would’ve seen that I stated “The current Tu’i Line (Tu’i Kanokupolu) is & has always been Tongan” which is Completely True. I do not say there were no other Samoans involved in the Tu’i Tonga Line so I don’t know who your arguing with there. As for some of the Tu’i Tongas you mentioned (TT Vakafuhu, TT Puipui, TT Kaulufonua II etc) were exiled out of Tonga during this time so of course they’ll have Samoan mothers or partners. They weren’t even allowed back into Tonga ‘Eiki and ultimately lost its power in Tonga so it really does not matter. The Tu’i Kanokupolu began its reign. But TT Puipui really did try to return to Tonga but the Tu’i Kanokupolu destroyed his attempts at gaining Vava’u. Even Tapuosi I returned to Tonga after how many years. He didn’t want to live in Samoa, he wished to raise his family in Tonga. As for the first Tu’i Tonga Ahoeitu, he is “Full Tongan”. His father is from the Ha’a Tangaloa Clan (Tangaloa Eitumatupua ) who resided in Tonga ‘Eiki. Even the father of the Tu’i Manu’a was from the Ha’a Tangaloa Clan too. The story of Ahoeitu was always based in Tonga since his mother went to Tongatapu to find a suitor where his father is from. So I don’t know how you get Tu’i Manu’a but it’s Upto you toko lol. Yes the 6th Tu’i Ha’atakalaua created the Tu’i Kanokupolu and gave it to his son. That’s how the TK gained its power in Tonga ‘Eiki, from his father not his mother. Even the 1st TK Ngata married the daughters of a Hihifo Tongan Chief (Ahome’e), making his lineage more Tongan. Most if not all the following TK till now are Tongan than Samoan. As for TT Takalaua’s sons living in Samoa? Wrong! Only one ended up being exiled from Tonga. The first TH Moungamotua got his brother (TT Kaulufonua) exiled to Samoa then lived in Tonga ‘Eiki where the TH was the most powerful at this time. Please toko do not assume like these Tu’i Tonga’s packed up and moved to Samoa. Most of those who resided in Samoa were either Exiled or raised while being exiled in Samoa. It doesn’t make sense if they were more Samoan or had so much Samoan influence, why did some if not most return to Tonga when allowed to. We understand our ancestors history & how Samoa played its part but Tonga was and always is the centre of the empire. Tonga ‘Eiki is the home of the Ha’a Tangaloa Clan. Malo Aupito toko.

According to our history,6,000 Tongan warriors were defeated by Fuaaukoa and his Samoans of only 2,000 men in the war at the island of Tutuila.So, if 6,000 were defeated by only 2,000 men,image what would happen if Tongans would face the might of the three kingdoms in the Upolu island. And that's exactly what happened when the Tongans came back a second time and attacked the northern side of Savai'i island and illegally settled there for a couple of months at a village called Safotu,where hardly any Samoans lived. War broke out,and the Tongans were immediately annihilated and defeated. If Tonga were ruling the Pacific like they claimed,then I have a few questions for them.First question,"Why are the kings of most Pacific islands are Samoans,islands like Tonga, Futuna, Rarotonga,Nukuoro,etc.? " Why are most Pacific islands speaking the Samoan language or their languages is similar in some ways ? "Islands like Tokelau Tonga, Tuvalu, Futuna,Nukuoro,etc.?" "Why are the Samoans boxers and fighters dominating boxing, martial arts,wrestling,K1,rugby and many other sports?"Because sports are wars of Nowadays.Boxers like,Mark Hunt, Ray Sefo,Maselino Masoe,the great David Tua, Joseph Parker, Might Mo,Dwayne Johnson(the rock),etc.It proves only one thing, that the SAMOANS are just like their brothers the Americans, the British, the Australians and the New Zealands,they are the BLESSED OF THE ALMIGHTY GOD.They ALL belong to the ten lost tribes of Ihe ISRAELITES.They were chosen to dominate and rule the whole WORLD,especially the gates of the enemies.

I am Tongan and I don't have all the answers for you but I don't agree with 6000 Tongans. The last Tongan invasion that I know of and it is documented is in Fiji Lau group with only 2000 Tongan warriors in support of Thacombau in the 1800s which Ma'afu was send to be in charge. What I do know is the technology to navigate and equipment for sailing for Samoa was Tonga's exposure through trade in Fiji and into Samoa. The Tongan and Samoan war was true but there's details within that and I will leave to my royalties to answer for you The exposure of U.S. colonization brings you those of what you speak off and Tonga is a 3rd world country now with population just above 100k.

@@RastasNevaDie The sooner you Tongan people stop spreading all these false rumours and stop telling all these lies the better.Because the whole Pacific island communities are laughing at you. Because we all know that Tonga NEVER ruled the Pacific,because there are NO evidences to support that and to prove it. That fort in Uea island was built by the defeated Tongans who fleed from Samoa.Like one intelligent writer put it and said,there must be a good reason why the Tongans built that big fort or fence in such a small island.It had to be someone or some people that the Tongans were afraid of, or running from. Of course, they were running from the Samoan warriors who were chasing after them during that war in Upolu island,when the Tongans were defeated. But the whole Pacific Communities are supporting the SAMOAN claim that they used to rule the Pacific,because all the Pacific island kings are SAMOANS.Besides,most Pacific island spoke and are still speaking the SAMOAN language right up to this day. Tonga is STILL under the rule of the SAMOANS,because the Tongan king is a FULL-BLOODED Samoan. That's why the Tongan Royal Family called themselves,"THE KANOKUPOLU"because they are people from Upolu island of Samoa,in other words, you are STILL under the rule of SAMOA,whether you like it or not.
