The Blue Bell is a must visit. Up to 7 real ales in a tiny pub which has strict rules on behaviour and, due to its small size, group sizes. The landlord is absolutely passionate about the pub, as are his staff. No hot food, just delicious pork pies. In my view, the best pub in York and, quite possibly, the best pub in the country. The Phoenix is also brilliant and an absolute must visit pub if you're in York. The other 3 featured are very good pubs, but there are dozens in York of similar high quality.

Loved it, but it would be wonderful if you could have had tasted and commented on a libation at each location showing more extensive views of the interiors .

That was interesting and a bit different. I love York and have visited a good few times . Interestingly the long drop was developed by William Marwood in Horncastle Lincolnshire the town I work and a descendent of my friend. Great video love it cheers 👍🍻

My favourites are The Snickelways Inn (formerly Anglers Arms), Goodramgate; The Black Swan, Peasholme Green; House of the Trembling Madness, and The Punch Bowl, Stonegate; and The Red Lion, Piccadilly. Also like Guy Fawkes and the Golden Fleece though and my husband and his mate like The Bluebell. Lamb and Lion good with lovely beer garden but expensive; Evil Eye Lounge good for cocktails; and Ye Olde White Swan, Olde Starre Inn and Kings Arms all deserve a mention. We're Scottish but visit York whenever we can. Love it! Cheers!

Oh no! I actually missed my very favourite The Maltings at Lendal Bridge. You definitely need to go there!
