@@thatguyonabicycleofconsurv3908 It all depends on how a person wants to do it yes? In the 1970th many people traveled even during the Vietnam war which is dangerous, today too can be dangerous in some parts of the World. Back then people chatted among themselves about the experiences they had today we are broadcasting it all over the social media. The biggest motivator is also making money by filming others about their travels and experiences. KZbin brought incentives to motivate people to share their experiences. Nora Dunn's perspectives about travel have encouraged and inspired me to pursue this kind of lifestyle. I feel like I don't belong to an organization or a company and just remain as an employee for the rest of my life. I consider myself a free soul who wants to experience the world. I'm building the foundations of my plan to pursue an online career and save up before I start traveling. My first destination would be Southeast Asia since this is the region where my country, the Philippines, belongs, and explore other countries either at the end of this year or the first quarter of next year. However I would like to add something, being an Indian we have to give interview to get visa(which is a toiling process and very difficult to get especially if you are young, not financially strong or single) to whole Europe, most of Americas, New Zealand, Australia and many other beautiful countries. This turns out to be the first biggest hurdle in any kind of travelling that we would want to do. And secondly, Indian Rupee is depreciating everyday so how much ever hard we work to have enough to start travelling will not be enough.

Nice! I'm at the 10-year mark and, while I've been to a whole lot less countries than Nora, we share the slomad (slow nomad) lifestyle. Different than her, I started with practically no money and lived hand-to-mouth most of the time. Also different, I rent with locals where I go and thus avoid "gringo" prices. Most countries in the world - including most European ones - are quite cheap to live in, if you live like a local. My biggest lesson has been that low cost of living can coexist with high quality of life (and I don't mean material things). After a decade, though, I'm calling it quits cause, as I get older, other aspects of life are becoming more important.

Unfortunately the deal with the Nordvpn please pay attention because they don't practise the monthly payment at all, if you want to use it you need to pay in full upfront! I contacted their services and they said "oh the GET IT FOR 2.99$/month RED BUTTON on our page is just so you can compare the prices..." BS! This to me is a good example of fake publicity since there is no monthly payment you pay for the whole year in one go which is a lot different than a low monthly payment so be aware of your wallet people!

Thanks for watching our video and for checking out NordVPN! Thank you also for getting in touch with them to clarify the deal they’re offering. It’s only for people who sign up for the 3-year plan, so it’s like a bulk discount on their service and they only offer the $2.99/month price if you commit to a long term plan. It’s good to know that you have to pay the amount up front and that information will hopefully be helpful for other people to know when they’re signing up. Thanks again and happy exploring :)

This New year marks four years of traveling for me....so I can relate...however the 30$ a day really depends on where you are...sounds like she didn't spend much time in Southeast Asia where you can find accommodations for as little as $2 for a run of the mill backpacker hostel to 5$-8$ for a nice boutique capsule hostel or low-end guest house or hotel and food as little as a 1$-$5...really depends on what you want your travels to look like...in my experience long term traveling actually usually turns out to be cheaper then short term holidays because long term travelers aren't really into doing all the touristy things so that cuts down the exspenes a lot and you get to know the area so you know where the locals go....like I always say if you want to know how to travel on a budget do it like the locals...if you see a local restaurant that's full of other locals..its a really good chance that its not only good but cheap... I agree on having a game plan on how your going to make money before you actually start ur travels...if you want to do freelance, try to get clients before you take off...however it really depends on the individual...so many ppl tell themselves I want to travel but first I have to get all these other things in order and then 2-3 years go by and they haven't done anything....especially in the freelance world which is highly competitive and can take time before you have enough clients to be able to survive off of the income and starting your own business could take up to a year or more to really establish, so yeah...do you want to travel now or in a few years..depends on the person.... I know myself very well and I know if I start lining up a bunch of reasons why I should wait to do something...there's a chance it will never get done...I jumped the plane to Thailand..one way ticket..4 years ago with 700$ and no idea what I was going to do for work but when your determined...there's always a way...so I just figured it out...its not the wises thing , I know but it worked for me and it worked for a lot of other ppl...its going to be hard either way...its just when you want it before or after.....anyways that's my two cents...Thanks for the vid.

Yes she mentioned Australia and New Zealand, i believed those places are same as US and Canada depending the area. She haven't tried Asia such as Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore and soon, it should be cheaper when she live like the locals. I love the idea of travel slow, meaning don't just past bye, stay for months so you will learn other foreign cultures.

Question? How did you stay for example in Ecuador or Peru when as a tourist or visitor you will only be given 90 days? How did you get around with this visa problems when you said you stayed there for 1 or 2 years. Did you exit to nearby places and re-entered as some perpetual tourist does?

This all is so appealing, but I still cannot locate clear info on health insurance. It seems like such a huge risk if you contract a disease or are injured and you need medical care. I’m not so much concerned about the availability of care as I am incurring crippling debt to pay for said care. Anyone have any examples or info on how to overcome this huge hurdle?

This is a great concern, but not an obstacle that can't be overcome! Between Travel Insurance and Expat Insurance (Int'l Medical Insurance), there's something for everybody - even full-time travelers! Here's everything you need to know: www.theprofessionalhobo.com/travel-insurance-guide/

So I'm 19 and traveling with my girlfriend, currently we are in Asia (flying on to Sri Lanka today). We always go for on of the cheapest hostels, sometimes even ask if we can sleep in one single bed together to get a reduced price. We share a lifestraw bottle so we don't have any running costs for water. So Transportation is by far the biggest expense for us, but we will try to hitchhike more from now on.

Exploring Alternatives, this was the first video of yours I have actually ever seen but as a fellow travel blogger I LOVED hearing about Nora Jones. The tips here were incredible. And the insights are invaluable. Thank you for interviewing her. Made sure subscribe. Channel. If you are ever in Utah you have a tour guide and place to crash if you want. Feel free to contact me.

I love you speaking about similarities and unity between people. That is the message I hope to spread! Great Video Nora, so inspirational! Can you tell me more about the airmiles that you can earn without travel? I can't find much info about that myself. Thank you!
