BetterHelp is awful and seriously damaging for the most desperate and vulnerable people that turn to them for help when they are at their lowest. The service provided is not fit for purpose and severely distressing for many. Not to mention the financial cost involved. All round a huge scam that causes actual harm to people.
@MarcoTedaldi6 ай бұрын
Nope... Better help got fined because they sold medical data of the customers to insurers. They also don't make sure that the therapist are what they claim to be. They set up fake search engines to funnel patients into their own system. It's just a bad company! Please don't promote them to your viewers if you care a little bit about them!

I had the pleasure of arriving and departing to/from Greece at this airport on three different occasions during my childhood to visit my giagia and papou for the summer. The last time was in 1989. I was 15 when I arrived, 16 when I left. I have a somewhat photographic memory and remember it well. I found it fascinating because we deplaned and boarded from the tarmac. I thought thay was really neat, as opposed to directly from the terminal like most modern airports. Erie how it is like an empty shell now. A carcass. Thank you for reviving a happy childhood memory.

There were two main parts to Ellinikon Airport. Ellinikon West was the base for Olympic Airways and contained their terminal as well as hangers and Support buildings. Ellinikon East served all other airlines operating in and out of Athens. They were on opposing sides of the airport on either side of the main runway. I flew out of both East and West many times.

I was filming and photographing the west airport terminal that Olympic used ( now demolished), in July 2019 and a security guard from behind the fence motioned for me to stop. I ignored him as i was outside the perimeter and wasn't bothering anyone so i kept filming until i was ready to leave. I also took photographs of the 3 Olympic planes that were parked in the far corner of the eastern terminal; my only regret was that I didn't photograph or film the eastern terminal; maybe on my next visit!!

I remember flying in to this airport in 1996 or 97, the first holiday trip with my father, just the two of us to a destination abroad. We flew in from another airport that also has been long since closed, Fornebu in Oslo, Norway, on an airplane that is very rarely seen in the air in Europe anymore, the MD-80. Good memories 👍

Definitely one of the most picturesque landscapes of any airport by far...I travelled so many times out of Hellenikon in the 1980s and to a lesser extent in the 90s . It was an easy airport to get in and out of and the East Terminal was designed by famous Finnish architect Eero Saarinen so it was an airport that reminded you of summer fun .. I definitely miss it .. They better not tear down the east terminal . The west wasn't too bad either

Wow, you are so lucky! The airport always was and still is an active military airfield. The whole area for 13 kilometres in every direction is the airbase, and tresspassing, filming, and photography of this erea is strictly prohibited as posted on the fence every 20 meters. This is considered spying for the purpose of terrorism, regardless of your intentions. This could have landed you in jail for many, many years as some Dutch tourists/plane spotters found out the hard way a few years ago. I know this airport from when it was still in operation. In and out was on special buses to and from Athens central bus depot. Armed soldiers at the gate/ main entrance. ( maar ja, geluk is met de dommen😂).

Hellinikon airport outgrew its capacity long before it closed. It had no room for expansion, and the Saarinen 1960s terminal layout quickly became obsolete. Already in the 1970s, there were plans to build a new airport in a new location. The Papandreou govt in the 80s cancelled those plans. They were revived in the 90s; construction of Eleftherios Venizelos in the Mesogeia valley started in 1995, and it opened in 2001. As you mentioned, Hellinikon is now being redeveloped (after 2 decades of opposition from NIMBYs, and dragging it though the courts); half of it will be a big park, and the other half will be commercial, residential, & retail developments. I *think* the Saarinen building is listed and that the developers will preserve and rehab it; though I am not sure. The inside is indeed very cool, but I'm not a fan of its external architecture. Unlike the Dulles terminal, which is gorgeous, Saarinen's Hellinikon terminal is very meh. Apparently, it was "inspired by Greek temples". Whenever foreign architects come to Greece and do that, create modern architecture "inspired by Greek temples", the end product is always a big fail that looks ugly. I wish they wouldn't do that. Just design the way you normally would. "Inspiration from ancient Greece" never translates well in modern architecture. (If you want to build full-on neoclassical buildings, be my guest! But please don't mix classicism with modern, it always looks ugly and boxy).

Great video, and it shows what's the construction status!! Just a detail: at 4:50 as mentioned, the airport was difficult, that's right, for the mountain and the dangerous and strong wind share reported on landing, the houses built next to the airport fences, and the visual approach to be followed for the runway 15L. The runway 33 R and 15L itself (3.500X66M ), actually, was bigger then the one done in Spata new airport and, at that time, the bigger for the eastern Mediterranean sea as US AirForce base.
