I absolutely love this house, it’s quirky and has some great features. I love how he put his dentistry business and his “radio” room within the house, but they don’t affect the fabulous, homely living areas. I love his decor for that time and I couldn’t help notice that he paid attention to nearly all the ceilings and decorated them to be interesting , not just plain space. You mentioned you were tempted to buy it……. Go for it Josh, buy it and get that gem restored, it would be awesome. 🥰😁❤️

Hey Josh, yeah! Another abandoned video! 👏🏼 A few things: • COLORS: The hideous pink and green that you love so much were my Junior-Senior Banquet colors in '87. I went to a small Christian school so we didn't have proms. • WOOD PANELING: Was very popular from the 50's to the 80's. We had it in our house when we lived by the lake. • TV: Looks like it's from the 60's - 70's. • VACUUM: That's definitely from the 50's. • JUG: The green jug is a milk jug from the 50's. • WORD OF THE DAY: A boujee interior design word for custom is "bespoke". • DENTAL IMPRESSIONS: Proper term for the dentist to make cast of the mouth. • BLURRED OUT: Why were so many things blurred out? Is it because the video is sponsored? • JIB DOORS - The doors of hidden rooms flushed against the wall are called Jib doors. • WIDOW'S WALK: The upper level with the windows is called a Widow's Walk. • ON AIR: The red lightbulb is the indicator to show when the microphone is hot or when someone is on air. • FOOD CABINET: The little food box in the basement. • BUY: As much as you like the place, it would be a money pit. Don't buy it. Watch the movie "The Money Pit" with Tom Hanks. 😆 Ok, there's some info for you. Stay safe and be wise. 😇

List of stuff I found pretty cool! 3:49 That's an electronic, magnetic, AI chess board Super rare & one of the 1st ever AI equipment 6:20 Yoo-hoo glass bottle The Yoo-Hoo drink was founded in 1928 & is definitely better in glass than plastic 6:58 Homart installation of some sorts Homart is a 40s-late 50s home product company. They were, essentially, THE name brand. 7:16 Breva Topper Handmade Cigar Box (50pack) Topper cigars have been made since 1886. TV looks more like 70s. I used to fix TVs, starting in 1978. The yellow discoloring around the edges is the glue used for an additional layer of safety glass to the screen. Those things are 1.5 inches thick. "color scheme is sick!" You're right, Josh. It nauseates me. 16:13 This TV is 1980s. Red light means "ON THE AIR". OILY smell in basement means the heating system used oil. Good to see you. It's been too long. (I don't watch ghost hunting stuff.)

The television looks like either a Zenith or Heathkit from about 1957. Most of that radio equipment is far easier to use than you might think. I wouldn't be surprised if his station was pirate station of a sort, as you didn''t seem to come across a record of a station or operator license. My best guess is he would have been operating very low power, and much of that equipment does look complete. It would only take about two to three hours to get it working again. Also, yes, that meter at 30:25 would have been used for electronics work. It looked like the brand name was Eico, which was quite popular for a period. I happen to have a couple of piece of Eico gear I am restoring, and my meter looks like that one.

Absolutely ❤ this video! What a time capsule, for sure. Btw, the red light bulb indicates when the station is ‘On the Air.’ Hence, anybody going in is alerted to keep quiet; or their voice can end up as part of the broadcast. Additionally, it’d be really annoying for the ‘talk show host’ to be interrupted & lose his concentration, or ‘mojo’ - that’d definitely be rude of visitors! Great video, cool abandoned property-would be a shame tearing it all down. But, if you buy the place, think of all the “before & after” videos it’d generate. You’d need to start yet another channel! Maybe HomeDepot would sponsor it👍🤔
