Branson, MO. Totally remember taking my kids to this park. Riding the go carts and eating at the diner. You’re not too far from another abandoned theme park, DogPatch USA. In the Ozark mountains. There is talk of reopening it in a different aspect. It’s been abandoned since the early 80’s I think. Ty for sharing.

I’m one that rarely ever comments on a video, but I just can’t help voicing my pure respect and passion for your content. You’re consistently creating the BEST URBEX content on KZbin! Your work ethic is amazing, and you have such great respect and passion to explore and learn about the history. I’m getting a group of friends together to explore Chernobyl in 2019 when I turn 18 (I’ve been to St. Petersburg and Moscow as of 2016). You should look into exploring Cement Land in Saint Louis, Missouri. That’s near my neck of the woods. I’m about 25 minutes away from it, and it’s the coolest URBEX location near me. Keep up the fantastic work, brother! Much love from Illinois. -Paul *EDIT*- Thank you so much for the heart, Josh, and thank y’all so much for liking this comment! I’m glad to see that his gifts and hard work do not go unnoticed. Mad love

Some of those buildings are so cute and in such good condition. Such a shame they can’t be utilized for something useful. Maybe make them into condos or a hotel or even somewhere for the homeless.

Hey Josh! So I was looking for a rest area on Highway Five and found a kind of odd abandoned gas station area. There were two or three abandoned restaurants, an old gas station, and a motel. Not sure if the hotel was abandoned or not but no lights were on. Im not sure how cleared out the places are, but most of them still have the signs and stuff so most things are probably still there. Wasn’t able to get the exact location, but it’s about 18 miles south of Exit 391: SR 165, or where the turn off to a rest stop is on I-5. Not sure if it’s enough for a full video, or if there’s even anything in the abandoned places, but if you happen to be driving by it might be a good place to check out. Thanks for reading 😊

This October it’ll be 12 years since it closed, makes me feel kinda old in a way even though I’m just 17. Lots of good memories at this place I remember there being one of those games where you had to hit a button and line it up perfectly with a light to win a Nintendo DS and it was very hard. Also the rotating water ball near the entrance where you would see a bunch of people pushing it got moved to Silver Dollar City

I worked at Celebration City and her sister park Silver Dollar City in 2002-2004. Silver Dollar City bought and renovated Celebration with the idea of having a night time park year round. SDC closed at 7pm and CC opened at 6pm. Their hope was that families would buy a combo pass to both parks and leave one to go to the other. Unfortunately, combo passes weren’t terribly popular and people chose one or the other. Half of the abandoned park is now used by a local church. The largest theater serves as their auditorium while shops and restaurants serve as chapel and Sunday school rooms. The church property also encompasses the midway games, which are mostly still intact, the remains of a tower drop tide, and a big rapids ride. This place was glorious at night with 1920’s ragtime music playing and lights on everything. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.

The wild cat coaster was the wooden one that got taken down I live right next to Branson and I have alway wanted to go inside and I wish I went into before it closed 🙁 it was meant to be the sister location to sliver dollar city people would come over from silver dollar city after it would close and would launch fire works and a holographic show when it would close each night some of the stuff from celebration city was re-used at silver dollar city like the rotating ball from the entrance of celebration city

I used to work at Celebration City back in 2008. Seeing it like this brakes my heart. I was working on both roller coasters, The Wild Cat and The Thunderbolt. It was a great place and the most fun job I've had in my life. I see that you have missed a big part of the park. Basically the other half. Now either you decided to cut that footage off or actually missed it, but there was a boardwalk, and a bunch of rides on the right hand side of The Carousel. There was also a theatre and a big lawn where the 3D laser show and fireworks took place, along with other food places. And the place you bravely explored with nothing but your wizard powers, that was a beautiful garden with a river and benches, where you could sit back and relax. I have great memories from that place. Thank you for the video.

I was around 5-10 years old when we would go. I'm 21 now and this takes me back, I miss it so much. I loved the 50's and 60's vibe it gave and the light show at the end of the night. It is so cool that you ended up going here. My friends and family always wondered what happened to Celebration City. I only went here once of twice when I was little. During it's hay-day it wasn't nearly as popular as Silver Dollar City. You only went to Celebration City if you were a fan of roller coasters because that is basically all they had. You could see the wooden roller coaster from far away and that's how you figured out where you were in Branson. The still standing Silver Dollar City has a multitude of different rides for all ages and decor changes with seasons. It's most popular during Christmas. Love your videos for this very reason, to finally find out what happened. Keep exploring and doing you!

Josh you are the best! I’ve been obsessed with abandoned places since the early 00’s and I’m so stoked when you post content - and when I find videos of yours that I haven’t seen. You are the wizard, dude!

celebration city was actually like the nighttime version of Silver a Dollar City that is still up and going today too. silver dollar city would close in the evening and celebration city would open at night and stay open until around midnight. they would do fireworks and that sort of thing, the last i heard they weren’t making enough money due to silver dollar city having longer hours and being open during the day. celebration city and silver dollar city are very very similar in the vibe and theme of the park, they served the same food like the homemade ice cream and pretzels. the food is incredible! i know you go to only abandoned places, but if you wanted to get a feel for how celebration city used to be i would totally recommend you visit silver dollar city.

that end music reminds me of my hometown.. nothing is left for me there anymore. It may not be abandoned, but it's where my memories reside. Eveything is in that track. Thanks Josh.. It may be only 1 year since year since i discovered you. But'll remember what you gave me. Kudos boy

I just enjoyed your video. It's another great one. Through this abandoned theme park comes a strange atmosphere. Once it was a place where countless people had fun, now it's empty, lost and somehow it feels sad. The reviews how it once was there, when it was still 'alive' were very great and the music you've chosen made it even more emotional. You love your work and that's what you can sense clearly through your videos. Somehow it feels like I would always write the same but you're the best explorer - you do it with all your heart and soul and passion. It's inspiring and helps a lot to focus the thoughts on beautiful things for a short moment. If I wouldn't have found your channel, I surely never started to take photos again. I'm thankful for your work Josh! Take care. 🙏
