Thank you for posting this video. I remember waiting for my train when Via Rail still used the main floor as their passenger station. The waiting area had kinda plastic not very comfortable seats and the ticket area was on the other side of the main floor. I wish I could see some video on what it looked like in there to refresh my memories.

Those plastic seats are still in the basement of the current station between platforms 1 and 2.

Kyle Best because the building was no longer up to code and it had large amounts of asbestos in there and it would have cost more to bring the building up to code then it was to demolish and rebuild at least that is what they said in the article I read when they first mentioned that they were going to demolish that building

My father worked in the building and said it had no redeeming qualities from the day it was opened in 1969.

VIA was the last tenant. It was built in the 60's and was showing it's age.

CN itself had a small number of employees working in the building. If memory serves, they were on the 7th floor but only occupied the outer offices with most of the floor. My father was one of the last CN employees to work there.
