Hi guys! As for melta bombs I have been extremly happy with them on a Alpha Legion Sabotures infiltrating him close to tanks.

A small unit of recon marines with melta bombs has been really effective as kamikaze tank hunters - they look pretty innocuous until they one shot a land raider.

ive liked melta bombs, and seen some great use out of them. From just what Ive experienced first hand; They allow Salamanders pyroclasts to hit back at dreadnoughts. They give Blood Angels Dawnbreakers more options for targets when deepstriking. They give Imperial Fist Templars the ability to take out a land raider after they finish the squad that came out of it. Melta Bombs are great and worth the points when I remember to use them.

Are running a Space Wolves Recon squad with Shotguns and Melta bombs, they’re great fun and people don’t really notice them until the wreak their tanks!

This doesn't apply to every legion, but melta bombs can be very helpful for warding off dreadnoughts from large, expensive units that can't really fight them off. A lot of great units, even great melee units, can't really fight dreadnoughts and can get bogged down by them easily. Phalanx Warders, for instance, have basically no way of fighting them normally and are much more expensive than the dreadnought. Sure, the dreadnought can't really hurt them either, but 175 points to tie up a 400 point squad is a pretty good deal. The math changes a bit when that squad is 20 WS5 meltabombs.
