Fulci record is great stuff and you are right that there are some catchy riffs mixed in with the brutal DM. I though it was interesting that they titled the first instrumental "A Blade in The Dark" as in the Lamberto Bava film. FWIW, I liked "Exhumed Information" quite a bit, but I do enjoy some synthwave and of course horror scores. I can understand why some would be disappointed however, since it does take up the entire B side and the three longest songs on the album are the instrumentals.

Jade is fantastic, love that combo of chants and gutterals. Fulci rips- I saw NY Ripper for the first time recently, such a good, sleazy movie. Suffice to say, I'm a fan of Duck Face Killings. I don't mind the rap verse either.

Easily the most overrated album of the year. The album title, the song titles, the artwork…gimmicky in the extreme. The music is ok without being great. Kinda typical of that soulless, sterile, OSDM revival sound. Rant over lol

It is really, really, extremely hard to enjoy the metal music nowadays. I personally am so cemented in 2000 to 2010 that lots of great metals they were all true and authentic, at least to a great extent. New generation? No chance, not only I don't understand them but also they are tons of similar bands [ sonically]. Meanwhile labeling music is something I never do anymore, so long as it is hardcore, it is enjoyable for sure Three great thrash albums are as follows: trauma (awakening), Blind illusion ( wrath of the god), and newly Nasty Savage (jeopardy room) That's it for me
@ExplosiveAction3 ай бұрын
Unusual to find someone cemented in 2000-2010! It's usually people that won't go past 80s or early 90s. There are a lot more bands these days and many share similarities, but the same could be said for early 2000s "Angelcorpse/Krisiun" style bands which seemed to be plentiful at the time, plus of course all those brutal death metal bands on Unique Leader circa 2005 that literally sounded exactly the same as eachother lol
@aryanazih88673 ай бұрын
@ExplosiveAction maybe I should have been more elaborate on this to get my point cross. By 2000-2020, I meant the emergence of great bands predominantly swedish ones. Then they kinda faded away, but their legacy still goes on for sure. I love classics 80ths to 90ths. However, there was a peak of fertile called melodic Swedish death metal back in the 2000
@ExplosiveAction3 ай бұрын
Interesting, because for me, melodic swedish death metal turned rapidly into mallcore / metalcore by 2001 or so and only recovered in the last few years with bands like Majesties and Dungeon Serpent. After In Flames Colony, Soilwork's Chainheart Machine and Intestine Baalism Anatomy of the Beast it mostly got watered down to pop music for the "melodic death metal" bands sounding like weaker versions of Slaughter of the Soul. There were excellent 2000s era swedish death metal that were "melodic" (like Anata), but that's not really the same sub-genre. The mid-late 90s melodic swedish metal was killer, even the obscure bands. Stuff like Sacrilege The Fifth Season is underrated as hell.
