Doug Polk Poker

Күн бұрын

This is the biggest cash game pot ever recorded in poker history. Wesley runs an epic bluff against the legendary Tom Dwan, who has a pocket pair. However, there is a bizarre twist in this hand: Wesley accidentally exposed his cards to Doug Polk, who now knows exactly what he has, and must keep a stoic poker face. What a thrilling end to the Million Dollar Game on ‪@HustlerCasinoLive‬

You should bring Tom on the podcast once you get back to discuss his thought process but also to hash out past beefs. He seems like that's water under the bridge for him but it would be an amazing poker podcast to have him on and get his perspective on everything that's been said about him over the years. A true journalist or even a man with integrity would want to hear from both sides and at the table Tom brought up a good point that you never reached out. Let's go!

Doug messed up this hand so bad. If you see someone's hand, don't say anything until AFTER the hand is over. ESPECIALLY if you're gonna fold. Hand ends - "Hey, just so you know I can see your cards, be more careful." That's it. Simple. Don't make a big scene about it, and don't make a strong reaction/comment after he shows you his hand... lol

I think Tom was thinking if Wesley had AA or KK, Doug WOULDNT of kept REPEATEDLY saying "i know what you have" so as not to ruin Wesleys action on such a monster hand. Having ruled out Aces and Kings the only hand Tom was worried about was _8 which was very unlikely cause Wesley 5-bet it on flop. Tom wasn't going to admit at the table after the hand that he picked a read off what Doug said cause it would of been awkward.

My favorite part was the banter between Tom and Doug-- we have some baggage and it's so fucking great and hilarious to see it out in the open on a live stream. Seems like Doug's read from the preflop action was that Wes was unlikely to have AA or KK, so therefore the only thing that made sense with the line he took was an 8, but if he's playing an 8 that way there's a good chance he's playing all kinds of garbage that way, so it's a good chance it's a bluff.

I think you handled the card exposure fine. Though, personally, i would wait to see if i'm going to be in the hand before mentioning anything as it's more likely i'll be folding. In which case you've given away nothing and the hand plays out as it would have. If i choose to play, i'd let the player know i've seen their hand, then it would be a question of what to do about that players inital bet.

Honestly, looking back at the actions on the flop and turn (and to a certain extent, the river) the fact that Dwan did not raise the flop or turn basically confirms to myself (and Wes, probably) that Dwan has QQ or worse. If Dwan was trapping with AA or KK he probably would have snap-called the river. Don’t forget, it was a 5-bet pot pre; the chances that Wes has an 8 is probably

When he told Wes he saw his hand and Wesley assumed Doug would fold right away, Doug insisted on seeing his cards first before making a decision. I think it makes Wes's hand very unlikely to be aces or kings. Another factor is that on Wesley's Chinese KZbin channel, he has been fighting back accusation of him of playing scared when he made couple of big folds in the previous HCL sessions. This also contributes to the fact that he want to silence his critics with a big bluff too.
