Very Nicely explained the matter. I have another myth to ask about. That is , if some IMG is old graduate like year 2008/2009 , have done his fellowship PostGrad training in their home country ( Internal Medicine + Cardiology) ,is it worth it, to go for USMLE ,to persue his chances to residency in Internal Medicine and then to Cardiology depending upon his Clinical experience + Research work. Kindly enlight this myth... What are the chances on this gamble ? Is really worth it for the time/ money / career ?

Thanks a lot for the video. I have a question, and I'd really like to see your answer. I've just come across the recent NRMP match data. The data suggests an increased demand among MDs and DOs applying for psych but IMGs applying for psych has decreased by almost 30% over the years. What might be the reason for IMGs to choose psychiatry less and less over the years?

Hi Dr. Manik I am Indian and have completed my 10+2 science with PCB and completed my bachelors degree in psychology from India itself. I am keen on attempting to apply to med school in USA directly. However , with my foreign bachelors , it would be difficult for AMCAS to recognise it. How should I go ahead with this without needing to complete another 4 years of pre med? Could you suggest several pathways? A response would be much appreciated. Thanks.

3:30, that is not true, this is NOT what makes it harder What makes it impossible is that international students do not have the priority in applying to residency programs The priority is usually to local graduates, and only after they are done, IMGs get the leftovers
@0doublezero0
@0doublezero0 Жыл бұрын
Correct. The person in the video doesn't realize there are filters that can be made to filter out IMGs. It isn't just that app wasn't good enough, its also the fact that the IMG status affects your eligibility as well.
