I had a hard time with convincing my mom on this. She wanted to buy a new bag but because that store had a $25 coupon on purchases over $100, she suddenly wanted two of the exact same bag. It's already 50% off so if you buy 2, you're saving $100! Plus $25! Whereas if you buy 1 you save only $50! In the end, I paid for her bag and left before she could grab the second one. Strangely she wasn't happy over getting a free bag because she "could have saved $75"......

@argeltal90907 жыл бұрын
Abubakr Siddique yes I definitely would. It's really underrated in my opinion. I would advise not to stay too long in the capital Skopje tho, focus on other places more, like Ohrid which is the cultural historical and touristical center of Macedonia.

Abubakr Siddique well, most people speak at least broken English but there are also many who speak it fluently, especially in Skopje as capital or Ohrid as touristical center. Amazon just did this the other day. A pair of head phones were $129. It shot up to $169. When black Friday came around they reduced the price to $149 and took off $20 dollars to put the price back to $129. Some foul mess man. If you are engaged into an item companies love to do stuff like that. Also I use to work for a big shopping company that start with the 23rd letter of the alphabet. They would shoot up the price by 50 to 200 percent. And knock the prices back down to regular price or keep the price marginally higher. Makes me sick.

Good advice for those who think they are saving money, I think of Black Friday as an opportunity to spend less money than the actual cost. For example, Best Buy has a Sharp 4K HDTV for 179.99 as opposed to 499.99. That's a great deal, but as Jaspreet said, your not saving money, your just spending less.

Back in the 50s and 60s basic math classes used to include a lot of questions like "if a pair of shoes costs the shopkeeper $6, what price should he put on them so that when they are '30% off' he still makes a profit of 40%? I don't know whether they were trying to raise smart consumers or skillful shopkeepers.

I don't buy anything on black friday. I completely agree with you and I hate all the gimmicks. This gets rid of the Christmas shopping rush too:) PS I hate Kohl's for that very reason and refuse to shop there. I used to work for a furniture that used to close the day before black friday to bump up prices. We would do a 120% increase on prices then mark it down 20%. Not only are you actually paying full price on Black Friday "deals" but in anticipation of astronomical sales most companies have their best selling products mass produced for cheaper at usually a much lower quality in order to not run out. Even name brand, expensive stuff is almost never the same build quality if you buy it on a Black Friday/Cyber Monday deal. So, essentially you're paying the same price or close to it and getting a cheaper, dumbed down version of what you would get at "regular price".

I was buying a laptop and desktop about a week and a half before black Friday. I had a feeling the deals would be nice as some stores were trying to clear inventory before black Friday. I was correct and got a pretty sweet deal on a desktop, CPU and laptop I had been thinking about buying for a while now. The next week, days before black Friday, the prices on all the items I bought were bumped up by $80-$125. During black Friday, all the items were priced $30-$50 higher than the price I paid. The most egregious of all of these was the Walmart deal on the laptop I bought. Amazon sold it for $200 and Walmart was selling it for $250. On black Friday, Walmart sold the EXACT same laptop for $319 after a 40% "discount" Wtf
@MrKnowdatruth7 жыл бұрын
I go out every Black Friday and look at electronics specifically items I buy, hack and sell. I save $15 each item and I usually sell them for $75 each so I’m making $15 extra when I sell them. I also bought a tv for once for my daughter from Amazon for $200 less than I would have paid. I always said if people can sell for these prices they can keep it low all year. I worked at a supermarket as my first job and we use to raise prices for buy one get one free deals. Unless you’re hustling to make more money Black Friday is going to make you have 9 TVs in a 2 bedroom apartment.

Everyone else: OMG A 4K TV FOR $200! Me: how can I stack sales, coupons, promo codes and credit card points to get stuff for nearly free so I can flip it later at a profit? Most of the sales on Black Friday aren't actually the best you will see all year. Stores frequently discount Prices on items at or even lower than Black Friday prices. The only difference is there is a single day where every company does it, and all these little sales make everything seem like a "big" sale when that isn't true.
